It appears the controversial Floridian received a major payday for joining the indie label.

(AllHipHop News) According to reports, Jahseh "XXXtentacion" Onfroy signed with Capitol Music Group's Caroline Records. A source tells Billboard the deal is worth around $6 million.

XXXtentacion has become an extremely controversial figure. The Florida rapper was accused of committing domestic violence against an ex-girlfriend.

He is headed to trial in December for aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness tampering. XXX maintains he is innocent of the charges.

The 19-year-old artist was also criticized for imagery he posted on Instagram. Back in August, XXX led some of his followers to believe that he hung himself, but the clip was actually from a section of his "Look At Me" music video.

Despite the months worth of negative headlines, XXXtentacion's 17 album (Bad Vibes Forever/EMPIRE) debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at #2. The project collected 88,000 units in its first week of release.
