Rapper XXXTentacion will stay out of court for a few more weeks over a domestic violence incident.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper XXXTentacion's domestic violence trial has been delayed by officials at the Miami-Dade, Florida state attorney's office.

Last October the 19-year-old musician was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness-tampering.

In the arrest report the rapper, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, is accused of punching the victim until "both eyes became shut".

A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade state attorney's office told Pitchfork Media that the trial, which was due to begin on 5 October will be delayed by several weeks as his legal team are not ready to hear depositions.

According to court officials, a hearing will still be held on October 5, allowing XXXTentacion's lawyers to meet with prosecutors.

The hip-hop star released his debut album, 17, in August and it rose to number two on the U.S. album chart. He has also received praise from stars including Kendrick Lamar.
