(AllHipHop News) The YBN Gang are preparing to drop their compilation mixtape on September 7. The three most visible members of the collective sat down with Peter Rosenberg for Open Late.
YBN Nahmir, YBN Almighty Jay, and YBN Cordae discussed how they originally connected, their writing process, their Hip Hop inspirations, the struggles of living together in LA, and more. Peter also asked Cordae to label his comrades as players from the Golden State Warriors.
"I'm Kevin Durant, [Nahmir] is Curry. [Jay] is Klay," responded Cordae. "[Jay] is Draymond and Klay in one, but I'm KD. It's the PG County [connection] and he came a little later and then he made them MVP."
Almighty Jay was quick to offer his own Migos comparison. The Texas-bred teenager stated, "This is a better reference: [pointing to Nahmir] Quavo, [pointing to himself] Offset, [pointing to Cordae] left off 'Bad and Boujee.'"
That sparked a debate about another platinum-selling music group. YBN Cordae crowned himself Beyoncé, referred to Nahmir as Kelly Rowland, and dissed Jay by saying he's "not Michelle, but the other chick... Latoya.'"
Nahmir apparently felt a way about not being Queen Bey. The "Rubbin Off the Paint" rhymer shot back, "Did you just call yourself Beyoncé? F*ck no! You better take your weird ass on, n*gga. I'm Beyoncé!"
