YBN Cordae Responds To J. Cole’s “1985” With "Old N*ggas" Video

Listen to the young rhymer try to bridge the generational gap.

(AllHipHop News) YBN Nahmir and YBN Almighty Jay are currently the most well-known members of the Young Boss N-ggas collective. However, there’s another YBN affiliate that's building a buzz by jumping on platinum rapper’s beats.

A week ago, YBN Cordae tackled Eminem’s “My Name Is,” and he’s now back to try his hand at J. Cole’s “1985.” Cordae’s version of Jermaine’s KOD track is titled “Old N-ggas.”

The record is a response to Cole’s lyrical advice to the younger generation of rap stars. Set in an African-American barbershop, Cordae visualizes a debate with older fans of the culture.

Cordae's reply on wax is a different approach from other under-30 rappers that chose to fire back at J. Cole on social media. Nahmir and Almighty Jay have insisted their crew knows Hip Hop history and really know how to rap.
