(AllHipHop News) Young M.A gave back in a major way to celebrate the Mother's Day holiday.

Hailing from the streets of Brooklyn, the 26-year-old experienced firsthand the immense loss and tragedy that came with losing a loved one to street violence.

Young M.A., born Katorah Marrero, hosted a Mother’s Day brunch at 3 Black Cats Cafe in Brownsville to honor the mothers whose children fell victim to the gun and street violence.

The event was inspired by her own struggle in losing her 20-year-old brother, Kenneth, who was stabbed in the back by a friend in 2009.

Her mother, Latasha Blackmon, was in attendance to share a few words.

She stated, “My whole world changed. I had PTSD. I had depression, anxiety. It hasn't been easy. Every day is a struggle for us. But we have had many blessings along the way."

This also marked the launch of M.A’s KWEENZ foundation, which helps those residing in her East New York neighborhood overcome the grief and trauma that comes with the loss of a loved one.

The event was filled with mimosas, sangria, chicken, and waffles, as guests bonded and exchanged personal stories.
