Yugen Blakrok Embodies The Divine Feminine In "Carbon Form" Music Video

Nature, religion, and science duel in the new visuals from Psymedia.

(AllHipHop News) When the Kendrick Lamar-curated Black Panther: The Album hit streaming platforms in February, Americans were introduced to several international music acts. Johannesburg rapper Yugen Blackrok was among the global talents to grab the spotlight, thanks to her contribution to "Opps" with Vince Staples.

Five years after releasing Return of the Astro-Goth, Blackrok is now preparing to drop her sophomore album titled Anima Mysterium in February 2019. Fans of the esoteric South African were treated to the single "Carbon Form" earlier this month, and today AllHipHop is premiering the song's music video.

"Filmed during the ‘Emancipation’ exhibition at Couvent Levat in Marseille this past summer, the visuals connect different states of being," explains Yugen Blakrok. "The Carbon Form is seen moving through Nature, at the center of the religion vs science debate and in its element, space. The video is directed by street artist Gaël Lefeuvre and shot by Psymedia."

Anima Mysterium is being released via the French label I.O.T Records. Yugen Blackrok worked with producer Kanif the Jhatmaster to craft the LP's tracks. Watch the music video for "Carbon Form" below.
