So, the City Girls talking about sampling LL Cool J. Let's talk hip hop

Aight yo, this is pretty dope, right? Because the City Girls, man, they're talking about

sampling LL Cool J. So y'all know the whole situation. Today they released a new song

called I Need a Thug, right? And they're sampling I Need Love by LL Cool J. I mean that song came

out a long time ago, man. Back in 1987, right? So recently the City Girls, they sat down and did an

interview where they were asked like whose idea was it to use LL Cool J's I Need Love as a sample

in the new song, right? So they answered, man, basically they said that it was both of their

idea. I mean that when they heard the beat together in the studio that the sample was already in the

beat, right? I mean that they thought it sounded fun. They thought it was a cool record. So they

decided to record it, right? I mean they actually went on further to say like they be holding on to

hot records that they have and that they've recorded and they wait until fun seasons like

summer or spring to release those records, right? So I wonder how much heat the City Girls are

sitting on because this new joint right here, I Need a Thug, is fire, man. And it's so dope because

it's like 50 years of hip hop and y'all are sampling LL Cool J and LL Cool J is coming back

out this year. He's going on tour. He got a festival and everything. So everything is just coming full

circle and I love to see when like new contemporary artists show love to like old school
