So Snoop Dogg earns his first diamond record. Let's talk hip hop

Aight yo this is pretty dope right? Because Snoop Dogg finally has a diamond song right

Well it's really not his song, it's Katy Perry's song California Girls, but now it has officially

sold 10 million units right? And you guys know man California Girls dropped way back in 2010

That is 13 years ago right? This is crazy because this is Katy Perry's fourth diamond record while it's only Snoop

Dogg's first diamond record right? Katy Perry was tied with Lady Gaga for three diamond records until this happened today

this morning right? I mean the whole situation is crazy. So 10 years ago Katy Perry did an interview with MTV where she kind of spoke about the

reason for coming out with the song California Girls in the first place right

And basically she kind of joked when she said I was feeling a little jealous because you

know Jay Z and Alicia Keys had that New York song and everybody was showing so much love

to the east coast that she was like she wants the west coast to have some love too so she

called up Snoop Dogg and was like let's do this California Girls shit right

Snoop jumped on it and the rest is history. I mean the song probably wouldn't even have been that good without Snoop Dogg on it right
