I'm Steven Dr. Love, a producer of They Clone Tyrone. I'm here celebrating 50 years of hip-hop at the BET Awards

With all hip-hop, it's an amazing experience so far. They Clone Tyrone is a weird sci-fi mystery comedy with Jamie Foxx and Teyana Ferris and John Boyega

and a whole bunch of other dope people in the mix. But honestly, what I'm most excited about is for y'all to hear the music

The movie is set in the South, and the soundtrack definitely speaks to that

You got a little bit of Project Pat in there, you got some Big K.R.I.T. in there. You know, there's definitely some legends but also some newcomers like PJ

So I'm really excited to kind of bring the culture together around the music and the film

Tell us about the underlying messaging of the movie. Yeah, the movie's about three people who realize the government's doing mind-control experiments on a neighborhood

and they have to kind of unpeel that onion, right? And so that's definitely some conspiracy stuff that we're unpacking

But while you're having fun with the conspiracy of it all, we're going to unpack what it means to red-line communities

You know, what it means to control our food, our music, our religion, like all that stuff, right

Like what happens when we no longer control that? And so, you know, as we celebrate the 50 years of hip-hop, I think one of the things that's coming to the forefront

is people are starting to realize we need to control our own sound and control our own music

And so, you know, that plays with that in the film, too. Okay. Thank you. Cool
