(AllHipHop Rumors) As we know Azealia Banks has talked sh-t about everyone, including Lil Kim.
Either she's taking her meds, has gotten professional help, or is in a good state lately because she's been handing out apologies on social media.
Lil Kim posted a snippet of her track, "Took Us A Break" on Instagram, and Banks commented telling the Queen Bee how much she'd always wanted to work with her.
"I've wanted to make music with you for so many years Kim. I have such a vision about Kim x Europa x Fashion, you were the first female rapper to merge fashion and hiphop and you have sooooooo many fashion fans who know you are the mother of the who female rapper in fashion thing. Apologies if when I sent that verse you thought I was trying to write for you- I wasn't! I only sent the reference because I just wanted to map the song out and it was literally me just doing what I thought you would sound like in that section, I only put it in so there wouldn't be a blank space and you could understand the structure of the song when I sent it. The girls love and adore you, I still adore you. I hope one day we can link in person and straighten things out because I was sooo confused and heartbroken when our collab fell thru. If nothing else, just know that I never ever meant to throw shade with van vogue...I was just young and excited.. I hope this note finds you in good spirits. XX-AB, said Banks!
Kim replied with,
"Omg Azealia that was so sweet of you, and the things you said about me a couple of months ago was so beautiful and actual facts I'm so proud of your constant attempt at growth! And let me just say, I don't think you know how much I love, love, love "212" still til this day. I always wanted to tell you that u r so talented I'm sure our paths will cross again. Sealed with a kiss (emoji)."
Well, wait a minute! Azealia did some serious backtracking because she'd spoken ill of Lil Kim in several interviews.
Apparently a few years back, Azealia wanted Kim on a song of hers so she wrote Kim's verse as she said that "everyone knows that Kim doesn't write her on verses." It looks like Kim got offended and had her assistant/team let Azealia know that she was offended while making it clear that Kim indeed did write her own rhymes. After that, the collaboration was dead.
Banks had a number of words for Kim which included her saying that Kim wasn't the artist or fly innovator she used to be. She also said that while Kim was accusing other female rappers of copying her, she wasn't even keeping up with herself
Well it's good that they were able to put their differences aside and take the high road. I still believe that Banks is unstable. Carry on.
Do you think we will ever see a collaboration from them?
