(AllHipHop Rumors) Da Brat may want to get her damage control on and I mean fast.
I didn't actually hear yesterday's broadcast of The Rickey Smiley show, but listeners are upset with the rapper for reportedly telling victims of sexual assault that if it happened 5-10 years ago that they needed to get over it.
You can't ever tell someone who was violated or who experienced a traumatic experience to get over it. It's rude, tacky, politically incorrect and insensitive.
Many also felt that comments and beliefs like hers help to perpetuate the rape and sexual harassment culture as well as keep victims silent.
On another note, with all of the allegations of sexual assault in Hollywood coming out, people don't know what to believe. Sexual assault isn't a novel thing anywhere, especially not in Hollywood, but all of these claims against various men have people wondering are we seeing a domino effect with accusers right now.
I'll always say, if we weren't there, we can't say it didn't happen unless there is substantial evidence to prove that these individuals are lying.
