Did Steve Harvey Tell Mo'Nique To Sell Out? Twitter Gets To Cancelling!

Mo'Nique and Steve Harvey go back and forth over integrity and money.

(AllHipHop Rumors) Mo'Nique has been whiteballed (blackballed) at least two times in recent memory. First, after her stellar, award-winning performance for "Precious" and then after she highlighted pay disparities with Netflix. Not to mention, the streaming service has had issues with Jonathan Friedland, the PR chief, was found using the N-Word in the professional work space. No wonder AllHipHop wasn't getting that Netflix Love! Wait, I am not sure we are still. Anyway! Other acts were getting paid WAY more money than Mo and, lets keep it a BUCK...Mo'Nique is a G. Like her or not, she's a G. And yes, some of us were like "You need to secure the bag and then secure that bigger bag later!" But, I guess Mo'Nique is clear about her worth. At any rate, she and Steve Harvey, who I like, got into it on his show. People are saying he told her to sell out, but its a bit more nuanced than that. Check it.

This is grown folks talk.

Mo'Nique: "We got labeled as 'difficult' because I said one word -- and that was 'no.' Now I said no to some very powerful people...the difficulty came in when people that looked like me, like Oprah, Tyler, Lee Daniels and I got to put my brother Steve on the list. Y'all knew that I was not wrong. Each one of you said to me, 'Mo'Nique, you're not wrong.' And when I heard you go on the air and said, 'My sister burned too many bridges, and it's nothing I can do for her now,' Steve, do you know how hurt I was?"

Steve Harvey: "When you tell the truth, you have to deal with the repercussions of the truth. We black out here. We can't come out here and do it any way we want to. Your husband can't be the Sidney [Hicks] that he really is out here [...] This is the money game. This ain't a black man's game, this ain't a white man's game. This is the money game!"

Mo'Nique: "Before the money game, it's called the integrity game and we've lost the integrity worried about the money. If I crumble, my children crumble, my grandchildren crumble. I can not for the sake of my integrity, stand up here, and let everybody that’s counting on me, crumble so that I can make a statement. There are ways to win the war in a different way."

Integrity is when you teach your children the importance of standing firm on top the truth even IF it crumbles you. Her dignity is priceless, proving that wisdom is far more valuable than cold souls rationalizing shunning the truth and betraying the struggle in exchange for gold like some renegade hoes.

He told her the truth. Tell the truth in America you in trouble. That's a well proven fact. Both of them are correct. This was a convo you've had with your loved ones. I respect them both.
