(AllHipHop Rumors) The tragic murder of the legendary Nipsey Hussle is still tough to get our heads around. Someone who was doing so much good, was taken out for nothing. It still hurts. But there may be some more answers as to why Nip was killed in his own hood.
Court transcripts on Thursday show that Nipsey Hussle and the man charged with killing him talked about “snitching” right before the rapper was gunned down. The prosecutors believe that this was the cause of the rapper’s death.
According to the grand jury transcripts, which had all the details of the prosecutors’ case against Eric R. Holder, one of Hussle’s boys, Herman Douglas, testified about a convo he overheard between Nip and Holder. Douglas said he heard Nip approach Holder to tell that that the streets were talking and saying that he had been talking to 5-0 about the activities of the Rollin’ 60's gang. Not only was he talking but there were court records to prove it.
“You need to address it,” Douglas recalls Hussle saying in a conversation outside The Marathon, the rapper’s South Los Angeles clothing store where he was shot minutes later. “You know, basically telling the guy you need to be careful, you know, because people got some paperwork on you.”
Douglas gave testimony that Nip, and Holder had been in the same gang in the past. Neither Hussle nor Holder had been involved in any gang activity
Deputy District Attorney John McKinney said the four-minute talk led directly to the shooting.
“Obviously, that conversation about snitching was enough that it moved Eric Holder to a point of wanting to return to the parking lot and kill Nipsey Hussle,” McKinney said in his closing argument to the grand jury.
Holder was arrested two days after the shooting. Los Angeles police Chief Michel Moore claims that day that the argument between Holder and Hussle was strictly personal and was not affiliated with any gang activity.
The police said they had no additional information and were unlikely to release more because of the court case.
