Birdman, Busta Talk New Deal With Cash Money

(AllHipHop News) Cash Money Records CEO Brian “Birdman” Williams explained his motives behind signing hip-hop star Busta Rhymes to the label

According to Birdman, signing Busta Rhymes was a logical choice, given his consistent popularity in hip-hop since he debuted in 1991 as a member of seminal hip-hop group Leaders of the New School.

“Busta Rhymes is the perfect addition to the YMCMB team. He is one of the strongest artists in the game and one of best lyricists in the history of hip-hop,” Bryan “Birdman” Williams told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “He is a hard worker, knows his sound and together we are going to be making hit records for years to come.”

While some fans of Busta Rhymes may have questioned his signing to the record label, the rapper explained that their business relationship had been developing over the past few years.

Busta Rhymes was featured on Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV, while Lil Wayne appeared on Busta’s 2009 album Back On My B.S.

Busta was also featured on the hit track “Look At Me Now” featuring Lil Wayne and Chris Brown.

Busta is currently working on his cash money debut at The Hit Factory in Miami, Platinum Studios in New York and a mobile studio.

“Birdman and I have worked together for over a decade. We’ve hustled hard and grown from friends to bosses and business partners. Our recent work together speaks for itself and this partnership shows people the strength of a unified force,” added Busta Rhymes. “I’m going to bring my best to the table, make this move truly gel and rewrite history.”

Busta Rhymes is featured on two new singles, “Turnt Up” by Lil Twist and “Why Stop Now” featuring Chris Brown.

“Cash Money is looking forward to giving the fans the best music of Busta’s career,” Birdman said.

Busta Rhymes’ Cash Money Records debut is due in stores in 2012.

Is Busta Rhymes throwing up a Blood sign in that photo with that bootleg Blood, Birdman? Does he actually have to follow suit with that started to gang bang in his 40s clown?

Will this be another major label flop for Busta Rhymes? If y’all don’t recall, his Aftermath deal and lone 2006 release off it was a flop since it only went gold despite all that promotion and hype. It was a flop since it didn’t meet platinum numbers after all that anticipation, production, and overhead.

  • Hard to feel hyped about this BoolChet….yet for some reason , I get the feeling that Busta is gonna rip $hyt up with this new album , but I hope , deep down I pray  , it ain’t a bunch of ymcmb features & Busta Kissing ” BABY” ( >>Cedric The Entertainer ( RIP ) voice:
” I ain’t calling no grown man “DELICIOUS”!”
OR “LiL” ( Some more ” PAUSE” / ” No-HOMO ” ( >>>>Even though if you gotta say NO HOMO ….that $hyt is probably some homo $hyt ) Wayne in the mouth , while wearing a pair of skinny Jeans.

I hope Busta makes the most of this & doesn’t get used to promote ymcmb artist! ( That aren’t on Busta’s level. )
    Let Busta do his thing!

So AllHipHop is just going to ignore Busta flashing a Bl00d sign?

I’m kinda surprised and disappointed to see a legeng following such useless promotion. Yeah cause let’s face it YMCMB is as much affiliated with Bloods than I am…

    PS: I don’t live in the States…

    • BoldSpice

You don’t live in the States? So how the hell you know what you talking about? Cats hating across oceans now dam.

      • MadVillain

rap/hiphop is worldwide, lol what kind of ignorant fool do you have to be to think its only relevant in the US…

      • BoldSpice

Probably as big a fool as you. Name some foreign singers or rappers dumb ass. Yeah, i thought it was worldwide. Know what your talking about before you type. And for your nosy ass information i was talking about him commenting on YMCMB gang affiliations. He don’t know shit about it from overseas. Unless he visiting cousins that work for Wayne he just listening to fools like you.

      • 7yoyo7

“I don’t live in the States” was written to make a point. It’s a fact.

Another fact, I own every single album from Busta Rhymes…
However, I HAVE BEEN to Compton since my cousin lives there and I “befriended” with Bloods and Crips. Oh I also go to NYC every year and I worked for a record label there for 3 years. Oh! Two of my uncles live in Houston, TX and Trae Tha Truth is the first rapper I met there when I was 15.
FINALLY hip-hop is EVERYWHERE so STFU ni99a….

  • scullyson

SMH..Maybe Buss feels he has no other option or very few options but to F wit Cash money….Perception is everything and how you percieve life is how you will recieve life. Only Bussa Buss will benefit or suffer from his decision. With that said always remember theres @ least 10 solutions to every problem… This may work or it may not but yeah him throwing up some signs aint uh good look as far as individualism. Nah, Uniqueness has quickly become a rare commodity son. Oh well

  • So, Busta throwin’ up Blood now? SMH.

  • lifer413

he’s throwing it up, but he’s mad lazy with that, lol. does dude even know what he’s doing? I love buss, but he gets alot of passes for some wack shit. Dude getting jacked and putting a little more of a tough guy stance on it was alright. But sometimes he’s on that “cooking the coke up” shit and it’s like, “why now, buss?” do your own thing. whatever, i dug the big bang theory, busta will rip the mic regardless of which label he’s on.

  • So Busta is throwin up B’s now? Man quit it!!!!! Fool should listen to Nipsey’s verse on Glasses Malone’s Eastsidin’…. Fool done gone from HIPHOPPIN to Drug lord to Gangsta? Anything to stay relevant huh? Wonder what Chuq D feels about this one…..

  • Whats sad is that Busta is a 5%er, He basically contradicting everything that he professed to represent. How you gonna go from deadicating your life to teaching the 85% thats dumb deaf & blind to dealing with this dude? Everybody knows Birdman pays no1, so why go that route? Gotta be something else to this, sad day 4 true hiphop.

    • BoldSpice

Money is power son, and he wasn’t getting it like they are at CMR. 5%’s gotta eat too.

  • bigbugga

this is a good move for Busta.people need to stop hating

  • Pingback: Birdman, Busta Talk New Deal With Cash Money- New Jersey Hip Hop/R&B()

  • This isn’t hating; this is logic. How do you go from being captain of your own ship to having to sit @ the back of Lil’ Wayne’s retard bus? This man has been in the rap game for well over 20 years. He went from doing songs with A Tribe Called Quest to taking second fiddle to Drake and Nicki Minaj. If your money’s running low, just admit it.Rappers really gotta get off of all these BANDWAGONS. Don’t sign to Lil’ Wayne just because he’s hot right now. Start your OWN label. What happened to Flipmode? A general should never take his orders from a cadet. {{-_-}}

    • BoldSpice

If you gotta say it aint hating you already know you getting ready to hate. Which you did. Sad day when cats confuse hating w/ logic and 8 cats liked it. SMDH.

      • Actually, that’s 18 cats. (So far.) And the reason they agree with what I’m saying is because it makes sense and they’ve been waiting for SOMEONE to finally say what they’ve known all along.

Acknowledging when something ain’t right ain’t hating. In fact, co-signing stupid music and stupid business moves IS hating. Hating on dopeness in hip-hop.

        You probably work for one of the major labels. {{-_-}}

  • J Hustle

The things that are glorified in Hip Hop today. SMH…Occupy Hip Hop..NOW!

  • maybe the B there throwing are for there names duuuuuhhhhhe didnt sign to wayne he signed to cash money…smart move i say….Cash Money up for a new contract and theres gonna be a bidding war for them…..id stack up on talent….not young money…..but cash money….bow wow….mystikal…busta…say what u want but these three alone have MANY hits….

    • bow wow, mystikal, and bussa bus, had many hits. not have. I been a busta fan since the 90’s, i know. Mystikal hasnt been relevant since pre jail time. I believe that Busta has the only potential to take advantage of this signing, not the other two.

      • You crazy!…lol, lest we forget Bow wow has become a marketable actor, Busta has acted and he’s the “go to” man for a remix to make a record shine, and Mystikal has the ill-est voice besides DMX, none of us knows whats the YMCM strategy but these 3 artist have catalogues of music and royalties all of which may not be owned by anyone. Black people all up florida thru new york have loved Mystikal and it never stopped, that fast talking pimp is that geechie sound that people in New Orleans loved. I think birdman is a genius  because these artist are not like the new young artist that need to be built and shaped, they already have proven success and they just need to be revamped and polished and our momma, grandma, and us will be able to jam all together.

      • youre talking about the past. they are has been rappers. You really think that mystikal can come back and shine as well as he did when he left?? Lets be for real. Busta is barely hanging on, and the only reason i give him a chance is because he has been relevant in the past 5 years. You really think dre would have let busta rhymes sit on the shelf if he wasnt gonna make him money for aftermath? I loved mystikal, have all his albums, but thats 10-15 years ago and im not in college anymore, the industry has changed and he have to adjust.

      • You’ve made valid points, yet we have to consider [stocks] and investments; Busta has the ability to keep new artist integrity intact at YMCM. Busta has New york on lock and they need his keys to unlock that east coast division. Its a Win-win for both. Mystikal’s ” Skake you ass- watch your self” plays on every black urban market nationally-He is a cross between James Brown sound and an old soul- and radio executives  love him which equals a forum to showcase from virginia’s freaknik and internationally. I cant speak for creative or gang differences with Dre’ and Busta, but Busta can produce artist too, and like I said, publishing is lucrative…

Lol so in other words busta was in a stalemate with universal motown since they didnt know what to do with him cuz hes pretty much done for so they threw him on ymcmb  like what aftermath/interscope did with game and gunit and warner did with pill and maybach music
