Jay-Z Breaks Record For Most Top 10 Songs By A Rapper!

With a little help from his “little brother,” Kanye West, Mr. Shawn Carter has just accomplished a huge feat. Lil Wayne and Ludacris are tied one below Jay with 17, while Kanye just got to his 14th Top 10 hit with “Paris.” Now do you get why they’re performing the song at least seven times a night on the “Watch The Throne” tour? No? Read on…

In Other Jay-Z News…Hov “Lives United”!

We hear that Jay-Z is set to make a big announcement this morning (December 8th) at Carnegie Hall. It seems that Jigga wants to spread a little cheer and charity by working with United Way of New York City, in partnership with his Shawn Carter Foundation, which he put his mom, Gloria Carter, in charge of a while back. The foundation has been doing some great stuff lately, including hosting fundraising events like “Making The Ordinary Extraordinary” which raised over $1 million for kids in need via a carnival on NYC’s Pier 54 in late September. We can’t wait to hear what he has in store for United Way, the largest charity fundraising organization in the world!!!

5 Out of 50 Ain’t Bad, RS, But What Are AllHipHop’s Hottest Songs of the Year?

Well, the answer to that question isn’t here for a few days, BUT we can assure you, you won’t be disappointed, especially since all 50 of our hottest records are 100% Hip-Hop! In the meantime, check out where Rolling Stone ranked some of the year’s biggest Rap singles:

#46 – Mr. Muthaf*ckin’ Exquire – “The Last Huzzah”

#37 – Nas – “Nasty”

#34 – Das Racist – “Girl”

#31 – Killer Mike – “Ric Flair”

#23 – Tyler, the Creator – “Yonkers”

#20 – The Throne – “Welcome to the Jungle”

#12 – Lloyd – “Dedication to My Ex” ft. Andre 3000 and Lil Wayne

#9 – Lil Wayne – “6 Foot 7 Foot” ft. Cory Gunz

#2 – The Throne – “N*ggas In Paris”

Agree? Disagree? SOUND OFF! (For those that are curious, soul singer and global star Adele had the #1 single of the year with “Rolling In the Deep”).

One of Hip-Hop’s Biggest Cover Acts Drop Music Video for First (Original) Single:

Sure, it’s extremely “poppy,” made for the mainstream, and most, if not all, of you will never listen to it again, BUT it’s got major radio potential, we’re fans of theirs, and she does go in to spit some fire (cue Da Band’s Dylan voice) about 2:30 into the video. Can she hold her own against your favorite female rapper?

  • NorthDollasTX

im waiting for BAYTL to drop … classick LMAO!

  • ILoveMyNikes85

He has the most number ones because he is 43 and refuses to sit his old ass down somewhere smdh

    • Masterful_Ronin

Probably the dumbest comment I’ve seen on here in a while. So, say you’re 43 years old and you’re a basketball player. You’re rainin 3-points shots like dollars in a stripclub and dunking on cats 20+ years your junior. Do you stop playin just because you’ve got a few more gray hairs? Marinate on that for a while…

      • ILoveMyNikes85

congratulations im sure that sounded like a good point in your head…but its not because basketball is a game of athleticism not lyrical skill.  I never said jay couldn’t rap…its just that his material all sounds the same because he is attempting to connect with age groups he no longer has ties to.  Nobody wants to hear about maybachs and black cards in every rhyme or how he USED to be a dope boy.  Also know ur facts! Reasonable doubt dropped in 96 and lil waynes first solo album The Block Is Hot didn’t drop till 99.  He got a three year head start but he only ahead by 1 song and he over a decade older…so whose really working the hardest?

      • Masterful_Ronin

“He has the most number ones because he is 43 and refuses to sit his old ass down”

Your words, not mine. My analogy was perfect. No matter the game, if you’re still NUMBER 1, why would you sit your “old ass” down? He continues to influence the game and is still relevant after 12 years in it. No rapper, besides maybe Eminem has had a career like Jay’s. And it’s still going. I’m speaking from proven knowledge, so it ain’t “a good point” in my head: it’s the truth. The Rolling Stones are STILL makin records. Metallica, Madonna, even Lil Wayne should be duckin out according to your logic. Do the knowledge. You are sounding like a “stan” with the rhetoric you on. Put yourself in Jay’s shoes. Your 43 and still breakin records, movin units, and evolving the culture. Would you quit because cats is mad that you’re still the man? Or would you say something like “Ya’ll just better hope I gracefully bow out?” C’mon son! Stop it!

      • ILoveMyNikes85

Do the knowledge, what does that even mean? Do me a favor and remove Jay Z’s penis from your mouth and maybe I can understand some of the BS ur babbling about.

      • Masterful_Ronin

I love music and that’s it. Jay is STILL makin great music. So is Wayne and Rick Ross. Longevity is the ultimate compliment to any career on the planet. If you can’t see that, your whole perspective is wack. To “do the knowledge” is street slang for forming opinions and commentary based on logic and facts. And get up off that gay s***. I thought we were havin a intelligent debate. That s*** is lame, for real, son. smh

    • Edward Arocho

learn ya music, when jay z got his first top 10 hit,lil gay ass wayne was out,so dont act like jay had a head start, jay dropped his first album in 1996,wayne came out in 1997 with the hot boys,i didnt know that hip hop had a age limit, shit baby is the same age as jay,i dont see no one talking about him still rapping other peoples rap,a least jay rap his own shit.Jay-Z released his 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt…In 1997, Carter joined the Hot Boys along with rappers Juvenile, B.G., and Turk..get the facts straight, jay just worked a little harder then most

      • “a least jay rap his own shit” Jayz steals biggies lines till this day and big only had two albums smh

      • Edward Arocho

ive heard alot of rappers say other rappers line, drake wayne kanye nicki 50 puff rick ross
,jay aint the only one to use a verse of any other rapper.biggin up my brother, biggin up my borough

      • Masterful_Ronin

A line don’t make an album.
