Rappers, Athletes and TV Stars Ring In The New Year

Last night, celebrities around the world rang in the New Year with over-the-top parties at private mansions, proposals at the stroke of midnight, and a few even celebrated with their ex-loves.

As usual, many celebrities flocked to the warm weather of Miami. The hottest ticket of the night seemed to be Diddy’s NYE bash at his mega mansion on Star Island. Co-hosted by his on again/off again flame Kim Porter, Diddy hosted the likes of Rihanna, Atlanta Housewife Ne Ne Leaks, Vivica Fox, Nelly, Selita Ebanks, Gayle King, Busta Rhymes, and many others. Side note – Rihanna was accompanied by her former flame Matt Kemp. Could a reconciliation be in the works for these two?

  • Forget the fact the new year actually starts in the spring and the Jan. 1st parties go back to the Roman empire’s orgies and other immoral “stuff” they were into during their winter revelry. (celebrating new years in January is based on the Roman calendar made by Julius Cesar hence the name, Julian calendar), but have we not learned anything from 2008?

If you look back at 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 it was tragedy after tragedy and disaster after disaster.

At some point our “spirituality” gotta take over, and instead of getting drunk and tore up, what’s wrong with prayer? A moment to reflect on how our actions and mind set problems that followed us all year. To think back on all the mistakes you made the previous year?

    Instead what do we do?
For about 2 hours straight all you hear is gunshots, fire works, M80’s cars speeding down the block, cops and fire engines, nervous mothers scared bullets would hit their kids, and the next day, cats walking up in ICU for getting their whips wrecked driving drunk or waking up in jail waiting for trial tomorrow. People got murdered; cars got stolen etc., etc. All in the name of “Happy New Years” not knowing what’s gonna actually happen THIS year.

Sad to see ignorance our only perspective but it can’t stay like this much longer, at some point people have to grow up.

If life continues like this the “serious minded people” gotta ask, what’s the reward for living right?
Why does it seem like the bad guys always win and the good guys always finish last?
At what point does God reward you for at least trying to live a righteous life?

If you aint about that.. then let it fly.. this is for the adults in the room.

A lil science for you.. This is why the Mayan Calendar and the Farmer’s Almanac which are both Lunar based have nothing in common with the calendar we use now (Julian calendar).

    • I respect your concern. Just want to remind you that. 1.We are responsible for our own actions. 2. God’s Reward comes in the After Life (For those who believe in such). Therefore “Do as Thou Wilt” . Besides who knows what calendar is right? “Everything is nothing but what you Believe”-MenaceDaRic-The “PLUG” e.g. follow me @iplug_com:twitter

      • The above post wasn’t for “you” then. Your 1st mistake is that “am I my brothers keeper?” mentality.

What you do in your life, affects people around you. case in point, if me and you have beef…our peoples will get involved. (cue in all the people affected by Biggie vs Tupac beef)

If you an “evil” person and sow evil you reap what you sow. How many people have you ever heard that reaped what they sowed and nobody else around was affected? Some call it Karma, I don’t.

2nd in the afterlife? How would you know that you gotta wait till death?
Again with that way of thinking, WHY would anybody want to live righteously? If you gotta wait till the grave?

I’ll put it out there. It’s Jan. 2nd 2012.. I guarantee in a few months time as we look back at the people that came up in 2012.. I am willing to bet you that you’re gonna notice that it’s ONLY the ones that tried to live righteously.. and they didn’t have to wait till the afterlife.

I stand by that. Give it a few months homie you’ll be saying I was right.

      • Was Kane, Ables Keeper? I am not responsible for what the next man does with his life. The only Person I can try to Control is Myself. that alone is not an easy task…..

      • well when it “happens to you” don’t look for anyone to help you then.

(that means seriously think about that)

And with that homie.. I moved on. I’d rather talk with people that are tried of the madness and selfishness our people embrace.

      • I don’t intend on Man helping me when faced with adversity. I keep my Faith and take the good with the bad.

1.What’s your solution to this World’s problems?2.How do you intend on stopping people from doing what they want to do?
3.What do you intend on doing to make this world a better place?

      • Misery Loves Company. with that said, Relax!!!

I feel that your aproach with that “nose up” more holier than thou attitude is not a good way to get your point across especially if you believe in being your brothers keeper. A debate is a debate and with you challenging someone on there beliefs and pretty much wishing something negetive (well when it happens to you) on others at what point makes you feel that your any different from the madness and selfishness…….You both have valid points and seem intelligent but intelligence is pointless if not being used to teach or understand your brother or sister……….move together of fall apart

    • How is it holier than though to point out the last thing we think about is prayer and reflection?

As far as approach.. no drug dealer, thug, gang banger etc. is gonna come across with that “get down IF you want to”.. they get in your face.. and we accept that..

But to hold it down and speak your peace like a man is holier than thou?

No bro.. you got me mixed up with the baptist church.

All in all, we both expressed opinions.. neither one of us have to agree with the other.. but time will tell.
