DMX

Hip-Hop Rumors: DMX “Not Impressed” by Rick Ross, Disses Drake and Says Jay-Z Hated on Him!

DMX is back at it and he’s in full battle mode! The troubled, but uber talented rapper, stopped by Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” this morning and flat out dissed Drake, among others. Check out what Dark Man X said about Drake below:

“I don’t like anything about Drake. I don’t like his f*cking voice. I don’t like what he talks about. I don’t like his face. I don’t like the way he walks. Like, nothing. I don’t like his haircut. I might just… Let me shut up, I’ll just stop right there.”

DMX also said that he was not impressed by Rick Ross and says all he raps about is food and weed! DMX also speaks about his issues with Jay-Z and how he feels Jay stalled his career when he took over as President at Def Jam.

X was very open in the interview, and in addition to his shots at Drake, Jay-Z and Rick Ross, he also talked about his substance abuse problems, why he impersonated a Federal Agent, and shared memories from his movie set experiences. Check out the full interview here.

  • just put out some good music, all the rest of the talk isn’t needed.  Dmx was a great mc….prove you still got it my nig

  • Casor_Greener

That’s his problem, he talks too much.  He needs to get help.

VIBE: You got major labels interested?DMX: Yeah. Actually, Rick Ross’ peoples wrote me a letter while I was in here.Vibe: What!DMX: Yeah like ‘Yo we got a home for you. We’ll pick you up in a limo. Just come to Miami. Just come, we got you.’Vibe: Oh wow, have you thought about that?DMX: I’m thinking about it. It was a good feeling. I respect him as an artist, and I would like to work with him. But he got the whole Illuminati thing going on. I got fans who write me like ‘I’m glad you’re not a part of that.’ And I don’t know what it’s really about entirely. So it might be like a good thing.Vibe: That’s crazy man. Because I don’t know if you heard but right now Rick Ross is on fire. Maybach Music Group signed up a whole bunch of people. Wale, Pill–and they’re really doing it man. That would be a crazy power move if you guys joined up.DMX: Yeah. I have respect for him and he expressed interest that he wanted to work with me while I was out. So I definitely want do a song with him, but I don’t know about the record label thing. I would have to see what his camp is like and feel people out. I’m not the average artist. [Vibe]

    • i bet dmx doesnt even remember that damn conversation…. smh

      • Lord Saltsworth McGinty III

Yeah he was probably high as f@ck.

    • Meelah

Maybe he found out more info from the time he did Vibe mag to the time he went on V103.

  • junioray

If X wasnt such a loser right now i would give his words some credibility. But who cares about who he does and doesnt like. This cat cant even stay out of jail for 2 full calendar years. Make good music and money, then i would care about your opinions. And can we stop blaming everyone for our own downfalls???!!! please!!!

  • Brian Andrew Smith

do you even know what a rumor is? this isn’t a rumor at all.  this actually happened.  he actually said these things in an interview.  this is news, not a rumor.  get it together.  this was on hiphopdx earlier this morning.  step you game up.

  • He’s right though lol Not sure about the whole Jay Z thing though (might feel personally slighted even though it MAY not have been meant that way). Drake just got lucky when he met Wayne (who is also not THAT great). People just give Drake more credit than he deserves b/c of who he is signed w/. I am actually surprised he didn’t mention any more of these artists who saw the opportunity when he left the scene to then make their way on to the scene (b/c one of the heavy weights who could keep them unknown was gone). But the heavy weight is back and ready to go. Give it to them, X. I am actually waiting for him to go after a specific “rapper” who is overrated lol

  • rep87

This is old news DMX been said this about Jay Z , we all know Drake is Queen ,Rick Ross is fairy tales of drug lord

  • breed500

You’re only as good as your last hit record or news worthy caper huh?..This dude sold more albums than you favourite fuckboi will in his whole career..He can shit on will smith and he earned the right to do so..quick to judge but hard to follow is the mantra for this type of nonsense.Dude was/is a dope head..so can we talk about whitney now?…because we just love to see a man or woman when he or she is down so we can go to sleep thinking it doesn’t take a lot of work(and talent) to do what this brother did…we wil sing the praises of a mediocre artist who sells out everytime they open up their mouths but I have yet to hear a DMX song where he says some outlandish lie to sell records or get street cred which doesn’t exist, not on the streets where I’m from..you back it up or pack it up….Meanwhile Rick Ross is the hottest out?…You should salute him for being honest, even if he is contradicting himself..he’s human…

    • Casor_Greener

man stop that jive talking dude.  once you a fiend you start losing credibility. no one giving out cool points for a sucka faking like he’s an officer, driving without a license, and other associated crack tales.

DMX was the shizzle…”was” being the important part of the statement. “wTF happened to you”

  • water_ur_seeds

one of the goats… hes got another legendary album in him with all the shit hes been thru…

    uber? sounds mad homo

    gonna check the interview

  • ch

Tell X to just focus on putting out some music…leave the bullshit alone…

  • BoldSpice

Not the way to come back homie. Hating only gonna bury your azz deeper in the land of nobody cares anymore. But in the great words of Biggie “Don’t get mad UPS is hiring”

  • Mugshot_McGruff

    DMX >>> ur favorite rapper

  • DMX!

    Do you thing X!

  • The Dog is back..

  • eurontay

Gotta love x for keeping it real he is a true hip-hop legend despite his personal life.

  • King Cold

Can’t get mad he told the truth. Do ya thing X. Buck the haters

  • youngturbo

    LET US PRAY…LOL

  • youngturbo

WHY DO ALL THESE RAPPERS WHO FELL OFF ALWAYS BLAME JAY-Z LIKE HE IS THEIR MANAGER ITS NOT ANY ONES FAULT THAT YOUR NOT RELEVANT ANYMORE JUST STOP BITCHING

    • Meelah

Although DMX shares most of the blame for his demise; Jay Z was the President of Def Jam so…Jay Z was like his manager.

  • suge380

LMAO, he did tell the truth though. Rick Ross is trash and imposter to boot and Drake is just…Coochie. ROFL

    • BoldSpice

And they both sell more in their first week than his next shit gonna sell in 2 years.

      • BTV Global, LLC

sells don’t make you good. drake will nver reach DMX level of royalty checks and sells and Ross has not went platnium yet!! some of his singles went platnium but non of his EP’s. When Emcee’s tell the truth people always try to talk about their personal life or say someone jealous. DMX don’t have to be jealous about anything. he’s a real dude that has money.

      • BoldSpice

Homie I don’t know how many cats are running to the store copping old CDs where you from but I ain’t heard nobody bumping his shit in plenty of years. So I’m not sure them royalty checks are too fat. And knowing the way Def Jam was raping these niggas that make it even less.

      • Adrian Barron

boy if you dont kill yo’self with that “they both sell more” shyt – do you see any of the paper they get for them sales … where’s the social – political awareness in either of ROSS – DRAKE music????

      • BoldSpice

Do you usually get your political awareness from people who throw away multi million dollar careers for crack? Shut up fool and quit hating one nigga and dick riding another. You sound like a teenage pigtail wearing Bieber fan. Now kill yo self to that.

      • suge380

Sorry Bold Spice, but X sold his records before the boot leg era, which means he still got money. Even though he got issues, he got down before the bubble busted, where as Rick Ross got exposed awhile ago about renting and leasing, plus ducking child support in a major way. And sadly to say Drake just signed to the wrong label. Everybody know Baby don’t pay nobody, thats why all the original members of CMB left except his little girlfriend Wayne. I give it a year, before Drake be bouncing for the same reason.

      • BoldSpice

Nah brotha before the bootleg era would have had to have been in the 80’s so your wrong there homie. Besides i’m talking about Def Jam putting the pole to their artists not bootlegging. And had Drake signed to any other label he probably wouldn’t have dropped an album yet. Only difference is if he would have signed to the Roc or Good Music all of his bandwagon haters would be tounging his balls still. As for the other CMB members. One in the pen, one about to go to the pen, and the other two are struggling to stay relevant. And we all know where Wayne at don’t we. I don’t need to ask which spot you would rather be in. And no matter what you say Ross is was or gonna be it’s still better than a crackhead my nigga.

      • suge380

Nope the Bootlegging Started in the mid to late 90. I mean to a point to where it started hurting sales. And think back, it was two clicks on Def Jam you didn’t mess with Roc and Ruff Ryders, Roc cuz they new the game, and Ruff Ryders cuz Dee and Wah was just crazy enough to run up in your sh!t blazing. But yep I will run with a crackhead thats real than a fake cat that use to be po po and don’t take care of his kids. I mean Real talk, if you ain’t pop, you aint gonna sale a mill. Even wayne and Jay aint pulling them numbers, and this last Album that Drake didn’t even close to live up to the hype sales or otherwise. I see one of two things happening in this year, Slaughterhouse about to kill it or X gonna clean up, cuz its nobody in that hardcore mode right now, thats mainstream and can make sum noise, to much coochie rap out right now. You got Jada, but noone can seem to market him right.

      • water_ur_seeds

and rap-a-lot because j prince would put one in your for bootlegging to lol

  • Raheem Classick

If you A HOT artist nobody can stall your career, Its been years since Def Jam, So who’s stalling your career now ?

    • Lord Saltsworth McGinty III

NOBODY but X stalled his career. My ex-girl worked on one of his movies with Jet Li.  X was always coming to the set late, one time he came 5 hours late. 5 F@cking hours!! My girls said that Jet Li was mad pissed. Then he brought his pit bull on the lot and it bit somebody. She said she was so embarrassed because the white folks was clowning him to her. Was that Jay-Z’s fault too? These dumb a$$ rappers need to accept responsibility for their own actions.

      • Nadia Sanni-Adam

wtf! how the hell u 5 hours late?! how the fuck……..sigh.
how old is X? he has to be approaching his 40s now.

      • dominicancoke

wow that sucks when the white producers are probably like this freaking n word typical always late and on drugs smh

      • Adrian Barron

phuck with them white folks think … that niggah could have been on set – on time and he still would have been a niggah

      • Lord Saltsworth McGinty III

        Keep making excuses for him.

  • rep87

Just watch the DMX interview ,DMX has done alot of great music and some good damn movies X is struggling with them Demons and this brother has knowledge of GOD ‘s word but he straddle the fence  I pray he can clean his act up before its to late !

  • Nadia Sanni-Adam

LOL. He said he don’t like dude’s face, how he talks, walks. Why is he even paying attention to that? LMAO! That should be the real question. He could have left at it, “I’m not a fan of Drake”, but now he sounds like some sorry chick.
Straight up X has brought a lot of his problems on himself. His silly antics have held him back. I have no doubt that he is still very talented, but the nonsense gets out of hand. I need to hear more music X, not about you going to jail again or being strung out. Take some responsibility man.

  • Nadia Sanni-Adam

Oh yea I forget to mention. I hope people know that Drake IS NOT the best that Toronto or Canada is general has to offer as far as rappers. To an extent, the man got lucky. There are folks like Kardinal Offishall who have been doing it for far longer and actually have more respect in T.Dot than Drake(Anybody on this site from Toronto can confirm this). However, people like Kardinall is not as marketable. Neither is K-OS. Trust me, I have been to Montreal and Toronto before and there are plenty of hidden gems.
Regardless, I think X is being bitter lol.

  • dominicancoke

i use to be an avid x fan even though i knew he was on crack since the beginning of his career but dude fell off especially when that great depression cd flopped than it was downward spiral for dmx but you know what? i understand what he saying all the soft dudes and c.o’s are getting praised now he was the last mainstream  rapper that kept it as real as pac did

  • Lil_Kent

I could see why he would think Jay Z stalled his career…..all my real hip hop heads remember the the whole Roc-A-Fella vs. Ruff Ryder’s feud without having to run to google.

  • Jeremy Scott

What people have to understand about X is that he never changed. Dude is hood, allways fucked with powder & he just being him. Everybody knows Jay-Z fucked over ALOT of people at Def Jam. He dropped Joe Budden ( which was strictly personal), Foxy Brown,Tierra & State Property (after he bite Lil Chris style), stalled LL, Redman, Ghost & Meth & X shit up. So he has some validity with that statement cause he’s not the only one saying that.
Now he’s a 1000% right about Drake, no true Hip Hop head fucks with Drake. Audrey is food to a hoodnigga eyes. Dude will diss a woman quick but backdown when a man diss him. Ross is a cop with a mean machine behind him (who spits a rap talking about selling drugs on the IPHONE?!, the easiest, most bugged smartphone out). Shit Ross caught that gun rap awhile back & denied all his associations in court. Crackmasn X just saying whats on everybody mind. Dude look smoked out, he battled alot of demons but it is what it is, he’ll allways have that respect due to what he accomplished & Drake or Ross cant.

  • James Reyna

How is this a Rumor if there is audio of it showing clearly it’s fact? LOL

  • D_Ably

The dogs off the chain! Its about time to. Drake fans stay defendin their rose petal lol

  • Matthew Oliver

DMX SAYS IT ALL. THAT WAS FUNNY AS HELL LMAO.

  • Adrian Barron

on mama’s – i aint never bought or heard a complete DMX cd – that STOP, DROP single was real busy out here in TX so i can only imagine what the east coast was doing.  I just couldnt get into no grown azz man playing with pitbulls and wearing dog collars and shyt – HOWEVER i dig the niggah beyond the music for being a stand up cat and not following by the rules that supposed to govern this rap game.  Though i have no  respect for any niggah that was raised in the late 80’s – early 90’s that fell victim to crack – cuz that was OUR father’s era not OURS – we grew up with the slogan CRACK KILLS! How anybody 40 and under ended up on that shyt is beyond me. Still he say the things that all these OVAH RAPPERS is too scared, less intelligent to say!  Never really understood why this niggah always look like HE NEEDS A BATH either… still, thanks for stating the obvious what these OVAH NIGGAHS scared to do.  Wonder if Rick Ross gonna put a spin on this since his mixtape and album are dropping this year??!?!?1

    • suge380

I totally respect what you saying, but dude had sum really F’d up demons. Some people can cope and sum can’t. The one that got me was when they talked about how his mom took him to a sent him to a boys home around 11 or 12, but kept his sister. Thats enought to F anybodies head up I think. Before that, dude was a str8 student smart kid. She treated the dude like crap cuz he looked like his father. Like you said that crack stuff is crazy, and at 1st I was done wit supporting dudes music, but after i seen that Bio, man i just pray dude finds his way and prove everyone wrong.

  • Meelah

I love X’s truthfulness.  I believe that Jay Z held him back because Jay was intimidated by X.  I remember going to the “Hard Knock Life” tour that was supposed to be headlined by Jay but Jay Z was THE most boring act on the tour.  You had Meth and Red flying above the crowd sharing weed with the crowd.  X would come out by himself NO hype man and keep the crowd captivated during his entire set.  No gimmicks just saying his raps, poems and a prayer. Jay came out with 20 other people half of them had mics and every other word in Jay’z raps were said by one of the other 10 persons on stage.  Just garbage.  I don’t think Jay Z ever fully supported any of the acts under Roc so why would that make him a good prospect for President of Def Jam?  Damon was the brains of Roc not Jay.  Every artist who extended a hand to Jay before he made it big had their style stolen by Jay and then shat on by him.  Nas, Jaz O, Kane….I’m sure many others.

    • Lil_Kent

Big, Big L, a little Pac, and he even tried to keep up with Twista on Is That Yo Chick just to name a few more

  •  first of all Charlamagne Tha God is a f***ing idiot, this Seal lookin like muthaf***er is gonna try to say Jeezy is like Pac, and that Pac wasnt a lyricist, you are a damn fool, a fraud, a bitch made n***a, and come back when you get Ross D**k out your mouth trick

  • knucks504

  • Murkanigga64

DMX had is time but now its over. Tha nigga needs to shut hes mouth. I aint saying drake is tha hiphop King but dude is definitly talented and theres a reason hes number one right now. Let tha nigga do his thang and stop hating. But haters will be haters.
