Hip-Hop Rumors: No More Outkast?! New Solo Album for Andre 3000?

Andre 3000 recently sat down for an interview with our friends over at MTV’s Rap Fix, and while he revealed that he was working on a new solo album, he shot down rumors of any Outkast albums in the future.

“There’s been a lot of talk on the Internet about an Outkast album and I have to say that as of now, there are no plans for another Outkast album,” Andre said.

“I think I’m planning to do a solo project. I don’t know when it will come out, but hopefully it’ll come out this year. As far as Outkast, I really don’t know if or when that will happen.”

He doesn’t know “if or when that will happen.” Could this be the end of Outkast???

  • Not the end of OutKast , just no plans for the future.

    That could change ASAP.

  • torreysn

    Time will tell.

  • Naw no end of Outkast

  • YaheardSyndicate

He could be speaking the truth. You never know what kind of record deal they signed, and if they are happy with it. Sometimes groups sign multiple album deals and then become insanely popular, and the deal just doesnt make sense any more

  • Diemenz

Man he don’t know about his own album let alone an outkast album dre is tripping

Naw they prolly do an album, in the future.

But his solo joint is his first priority. They both have different
Styles. But dre, has had dome of the illest verses,
16, for the last couple of years now.
His cameo verses are dope, and his flow is crazy. His solo joint will move some units.

    • suge380

I totally agree, and you right, those cameos be fire.

  • rep87

Outkast brought something different  to the game that was refreshing they were on another level, hate they want be putting out no new music wish them well on the solo projects

“I laugh/when you think that you have seen the last/but its only the beginning my nigga/dont be so fast”

  • lame. These niggas like 44 anyway so woohoo. after 39 you just look too old to be out rapping and stuff. Jay only pulled it off cuz he was early 40 but naw jay is too old to be making albums now if he does it’s cuz that’s the only way he know people will check for him

    • thuglifefukdapolice

      • for you to wanna call people stupid and that “go to school” talk you spelled stey wrong. you can’t try to rant someone off when you making a fuckery of yourself. looks like you a old  robot so how about you stop thinking it’s cool to be old and dumb…..and to the other fruitcake, i don’t like Wayne or Drake either….regardless once you get over 40 you are too old to be making all that booty music and trying to be mr thug. other than that they can rap but obviously I doubt it will be worth listening too

      • Tony G.

thats like saying that R&B singers or rock bands should stop making music when they turn 40..age has nothing to do with it when u have talent…if u notice..Jay doesnt rap about the stuff that he rapped about when he was in his 20s and 30s..its called growth…and when u can be their ages and ur still better than 90% of the bullcrap out here then u keep doing what ur doing……im sure u’ll still be listening to rap when u get 40..and at some point..ur favorite rapper will be 40..and u need to hope that he’s still around and relavent at that age.

These young ones like Lilmarcci are too funny.  They are suffering from what is called Agism.   Yes you have sexism, racism, and then you have agism.  Agism is a phenomenon that was created with what is known as capitalism.  Because there is a window when big corporations can lie, steal from, and use propagnada to get money and energy from people.  After a certain age people “usually” but not always wake up from the matrix and stop supporting “fuckery”..lol.  Like old school, a term in and of itself is actually disrespects rappers that laid the foundation.  Old subconsciously in this society defines washed up, bad, spoiled, bad quality.  It is all propaganda.  The best rap out right now is from artists STILL!!!! from the early 90’s that are my age 35 to 45….HANDS DOWN.    Old is over 40…you clown, lol.  Especially women since they are the number one consumers of music, women are terrified of getting “old” and nobody looking at their saggy breats and saggy ass anymore….Oh well get over it, and 40 isn’t old…….Your just an Agist.  Peace.

    • lloydy2r1

Neither of them are 39 yet. Just sayin’.

    • suge380

The artist grow with they fan base. If they are 39 or whateva, they fan base checking for them just like Jay. Do you think people stop listening to certain music at a certain age? Sorry but most people 32and up that came up with them is not feeling Fruity Wayne or Drought. They crap is relavant for there time. As you get older, things that you use to do, get old or just aint fun no more. The mistake is made when you don’t grow with you crowd and keep trying to be relevant to kids. Like if Jay came out with skinny jeans and crap, he would look rediculous. Thats the youngin’s thing.

    • Murk707

Jazz musicians make music up thru their 60’s.  Rapping is just poetry.  Rappers can actually do the same thing as long as their voice is fine.  smh.

  • BibatheDiva

    Wow. 🙁

  • brotha_man

these two cats all ways had some beef between them. One wants to be a veggie-tearin, the other a pimp of women.

  • Nawh hell nawh

  • could he be sayin that to suprise us in the future???

    • mike4282

That’s what I’m hoping—-I HOPE TO GOD that’s the case. But i would still would like to see a solo by him.

  • Outkast is 4ever. They need to find the right deal 1st.

  • Tony G.

Love 3000..never been a big BB fan but together they are dope…and they have one of the best live shows ever…I hope that if they dont do another album that its just because they dont want to and not becuz there’s any internal beefs..

  • Tony G.

SMH at the clowns that keep saying rappers like Outkast or Jay are too old…hope that ur bum azzzz favorite rapper lives to be 40 and is still relavent enuff to put out an album when they do get that age…

  • Adrian Barron

c’mon Andre u doin’ the most rite now myG … i think the Game needs an Outkast record 1st before a 3000/Big Boi solo’s

lettUS find out you think you better than what made you who you are?

  • I hope its nothing personal between Big Boi and 3000. If anything, I am hoping it is a problem with the record label.

  • Are you guys kidding me? Outkast deserves more respect than that. You know a rap group/duo still exists when they don’t publicize their stupid conflicts. Big Boi and Andre 3000 started off not liking each other. They both know that they’re incredible rappers by themselves, and will handle their business, whether they’re together or not. Big Boi toured by himself when ‘Speakerboxxx/The Love Below’ was just out, so this individual thing should not be looked at as a threat to Outkast.

    • Q.

These dudes have been like Yin and Yang since jump. They have respect for each other’s styles and they realize their differences are what make them a dynamic duo.
I think a lot of people forgot that Andre pretty much said he was giving up rapping when Speakerboxxx/Love Below dropped, but he eventually came back around. And Andre kinda overshadowed Big Boi in terms of celebrity, so I think he was happy when Big Boi was out there getting shine on his other projects. I don’t think Outkast is finished though.

  • Q.

There’s a lot that goes into collaborating with someone on a project…Both of these guys are artists and professionals in their own space, so they’re not going to just put out some bullshit album for the sake of placating a few fans. At the end of the day, they know a mediocre album is gonna hurt their brand. These cats are GROWN and RICH with families, so they’re not pressed like that to drop an LP every season anyway–they could just continue doing features and be straight, but OK will be back sooner or later.

good no body was going to buy it anyway it is what it is?????

  • AlbertoRipRon
