Lawyers For 50 Attempt To Block Young Buck’s Asset Sale Over Dispute

(AllHipHop News) Rapper 50 Cent has filed a motion to block Young Buck’s sale of his intellectual property, in an attempt to pay off creditors, as part of his bankruptcy filing.

According to the Wall Street Journal, 50 Cent’s lawyers filed motions to stop the sale of Young Buck’s recordings, publishing and other intellectual property, until a judge decides what Young Buck is allowed to sell.

Lawyers for 50 Cent claim that Young Buck’s agreement with G-Unit already grants them the rights to almost all of the intellectual property the rapper created while he was signed to the label.

“The creditors are left with no choice but to file this opposition to ensure that the trustee is not seeking to adversely affect the creditors’ rights in assets that they own, or in which they have rights and interests,” 50 Cent’s attorneys wrote in recently filed court papers.

In addition to his music, lawyers for G-Unit say the label owns all trademarks, logos and even Young Buck’s professional name.

A judge is expected to weigh in on the motion next week.

Damn Buck, I feel for you man…Read carefully before signing the dottted lines next time…

    • I don’t. He should learn to manages his finances better and stay off that nose candy.

      • ANDRE SALAZAR

Co-sign!!! He had a bad deal with Juvenile prior to signing with G-Unit! This goes to show that it’s NOT only the artists responsibility when contracts get signed, it’s also the duty of the label signing them (G-Unit/50 Cent), to make sure the artist is suited for the business & is NOT just in it for a quick payday! Buck was singing a different “tune” when he was rolling with da “Unit”!! What happened to “Cash-ville, 10-A-Key”?? What a LAME!!

      • white211

to me it seems this is helping buck because he said he was negotiating with 50 a few weeks ago so 50 might be asking the judge to stop the sale of his things so buck can keep his shit just my thought

      • Darren Hargrove

You are a 100% correct!! I have no idea what these other cats are talking about!!! SMDH

      • Baby_Bluez

Buck initially agreed to the terms of the contract. Consequently, such actions are admissible.
Agreed that this can go either way, but, it’s uncertain…
Who wants to live in uncertainty?

      • johnblacksad

Lol.. Buck didn’t agree to sh!t… he probably heard the amount of cash advance he would be fronted with and went like “where i sign?”

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

lol and whos fault is that lol

      • johnblacksad

I hope to God that’s what it is… ya’ll could be right about that… definitely would be a good look.

But at the same time, what i’m sayin is… Forbes said the other day 50 sittin on over one hunid mil… he already taught Buck a lesson… the sh!t happened over 5 years ago now… the least he could do is release the n!gga

But then again, like the late great GURU said:
“Actions are reactions, don’t be quick to judge
You may not know the hardships people don’t speak of”
        R.I.P. Guru!

I don’t know what’s between Fif & Buck… could be deeper than what we know…

        Good luck to em all!

  • didnt buck say a few weeks ago that things were looking good for him working something out with 50 and the label?

    wishful thinking i guess…..

  • D

I’m not convinced Fif is a snitch (other than dry snitching on his cd’s) but he’s def a snake.
Damn, regardless of what issues you got with the man, you gotta let a man eat.

  • Nobody likes me but that’s okay.50 heartless.

  • johnblacksad

50 is a b!tch at this point… free Buck already… you already humiliated the n!gga… sneak recorded him cryin on the phone and sh!t… i understand you wanted to teach him a lesson, show the world how flexible your muscles are… etc… but at this point neither 50 nor Buck is relevant… 50 should call him to join the Unit back… or at least let him sort his IRS problems without his lawyers breathing down the n!gga’s neck…

    fukk bifty… ahem… i mean buck fifty for this b!tch move… white people sh!t

    • justyouraverage

“white people sh!t” lol u making us look good here

    • temp1025

no wht u dnt see is why 50 cent dont want 2 free buck.He knws that buck is incredible, releasing buck will cause buck 2 prosper and he will be completely nothing compared 2 him.50 cent is a scared piece of sh*t not a man jst a little boy

  • dominicancoke

beside’s 50 having money ain’t none of g unit’s current and former artist doing well at least musically a reunion will definitely regenerate some buzz’ and a lot of cash 50 know’s he ain’t on top no more.why not stop all this bickering none sense and do a g unit reunion 50 banks yayo game buck. the g unit era of 50 buck and bank’s and yayo was the best one

  • johnblacksad

“You play with a man’s money, you playin with his life… you play with a mans life, you playin with YO life!”

Buck should do what any reasonable thinkin ninja would do…. hurt 50 to where he won’t be able to enjoy none of his money… make him regret he didn’t choose to live in his mansion and let n!ggas be instead of worryin bout/and makin sure n!ggas that already don’t have sh!t don’t eat… FOUL!
Reason why i’d do something foul too! Real n!gga sh!t.. if i don’t eat, nobody eats!

Buck should take his case to J.Prince!

    • tbirdandkoolaid

Yep, do something as ignorant as that. Get locked up.

because you buck chose to be a fiend and couldn’t handle him business like a man.

      real nig. be dumb nigs.

      real men. be real men.

are you a man or a nig?

then we wonder why we as people will stay in line OVERNIGHT to buy some shoes (which is a female trait..that’s another story) and yet WE as a people don’t produced anything of value.

      make sense

50 is business man. buck bucked his self. trying to play a man’s game.

go start a business or something.

      • scullyson

Yeah tbird That about sums it up. Buck needs to educate his self with them finances because its never too late regardless of what anybody says. Theres at least 10 solutions to evey problem (@ least). He’s obviously thinking like a defeated man which is keeping him wallowing in his sorrow >> no body knows the troubles……..LOL….He couldve straightened this ish out by now I bet if he had of collaborated with individuals who would believe in him as he believes in self. When the going gets tough get tough with it (intelligently) is what I say. Why invest in a leaky bucket?

    • immackulate

buck already tried J.PRINCE, BABY, and T.I. – they wasnt willing to pay that PRICE TAG

      • johnblacksad

uh oh… ok… i must have missed the hip hop news that day

    • temp1025

hurting 50 cent wont solve the problem,we need 2 help buck 2 fix this sh*t and f*ck the 50 cent sh*t. i cant believe my nigga is blocked by this sh*t

  • churchboy2

This seems like a move by 50 to protect the possibility of 50 & Buck working together again.

One would think that having the assets in place increases the chances of both men profitting if/when the reunion music comes out.

I’m not sure why cats are chucking hate at 50 over this…

    • immackulate

cuz niggahs cant comprehend what they are reading – this whole article smells like reconciliation or at least an attempt to giving BUCK a little more freedom to revive his otherwise DEAD career

  • Papi Peligro

Even a reunion can’t save these dudes. He’s just pressuring Buck to sign whatever he wants to join back then he’s going to screw him again. Learn from your mistakes dude. You can’t ride dudes he ain’t riding for you. I didn’t see Dre go stab 50 after he screwed Buck. Made dudes always forget how they made it and screw other people.  GUnit will never sell cause you know ain’t no manhood in it. Just a bunch of bitch shit.

    • immackulate

he aint pressuring BUCK to do shyt homey – he had his foot on BUCK’s neck – he’s just letting the niggah breath and allowing him to be able to release some kind of music and make some kinf of profit – you’re right G-UNIT is over for the most part but there’s still money in the game even as a b/c-list celebrity

  • Terrance Goodman

Yeah Buck dont even own his name ,a damn shame. He got heat too.Read the small/fine print smfh

    • immackulate

majority of these rappers/entertainers dont own their stage names either

even the rinky dinkiest contracts call for owning rights to a person’s stage name

thats why RZA useta drop solo albums under BOBBY DIGITAL to get around that yellow tape legallly

  • Brick Soulja

When Young Buck was on top with G Unit, he talked all crazy about Lil Wayne. Cash Money was on the decline at the time and Buck called himself checking Wayne. Now Wayne has the power and money to buy his contract………lol. Be careful who you step on when you going up, because those are the same people you see on your way down.

    • immackulate

baby, j-prince, and T.I. all were attempting to buy BUCK out of his contract at one point in time – BUCK still good with wayne and wayne good with BUCK – hell his 2nd mixtape before he was kicked out of the unit had LIL WAYNE on it “ups and downs”

  • justyouraverage

50s contracts are like selling your soul to the devil

    • temp1025

ya but not yet.50 cent has gone way 2 far, jst cant play with nigga lyf like that.sum1 need 2 stop him

that’s what happens when your not smart enough to sit down and read the entire contract before signing, too quick to jump at the money. the devil is in the details.
