(AllHipHop News) Lupe Fiasco, has released the tracklist and blacked out on his album art for his new album, Food and Liquor 2: Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, due in stores and on Amazon on September 25. The album cover is pitch black with no title except a mandatory “parental advisory explicit content” label.

Over the past two weeks, visuals for Fiasco’s singles “B*tch Bad” and “Battle Scars” with Guy Sebastian have hit the net. In his most recent released “Battle Scars”, Fiasco tells viewers to “turn off your computer right now, and go outside and do something to change the world.”

When asked by super producer Mannie Fresh if he has made the definitive song of his career yet for 2cent TV, Lupe tells Fresh that his song “Form Follows Function”, which is featured on his upcoming album, is the only song not featured on a mixtape that he feels has touched “the bottom of rapper’s heaven. On the pure side, I’m always on the pursuit to make the ultimate song for me… There’s another record on the new album called “Form Follows Function” that’s close,” says Fiasco.

  • Fiasco means – a thing that is a complete failure, esp. in a ludicrous or humiliating way…. Yeah you know that was a mistake… LoL. He’s nice on that mic though!

    • johnblacksad

Loupé in french means the same thing! Double fail!

  • TruthSerum

One thing about the game I always found Ironic was how the guys who do “Preach Rap” like Lupe, Kanye, KRS etc always wind up being the most pompous, arrogant, self righteous ego maniacal douche bags while the dudes who rap about selling crack and shooting people are always the ones who seem the most down to earth

    • I think it is because those guys become fed up with earth, like, in all seriousness. The hanous things that they sometimes rap about is all they can really see in the world. We were talking about it in a psych class today interestingly enough! They are just so fed up and want for us to sooo badly understand what they are “telling” us (even though lupe doesn’t take positions on anything) that they come off as pompous and like they’re better than the average.

    • johnblacksad

couldn’t have worded it better…. Lupe, tho talented, is one pompous, arrogant, self-righteous ego maniacal douche bag s.o.b.!

I really hate how he thinks he is so smart and so unique on some dumb anti-conformist sh!t when his whole design and approach is see-thru!

      • MDL88

Exactly why is it so bad for a brother / hip hop artist to not conform to the all the Tom Coonery ?

      • johnblacksad

ok, ya’ll won… Obama is a terrorist like Bin Laden…. shaq face n!ggaz

  • johnblacksad

I was a fan of this dude… for one album! Then he thought he was a politician… smh

  • johnblacksad

  • johnblacksad

dunno what that ‘Form follows function’ is about… but i can already tell i disagree with the title… to me, Form precedes function… matter fact, the Form is the Function! just sayin… we’ll see what tha’t’s about

    • creed

”Form follows function is a principle associated with modern architecture and industrial design
in the 20th century. The principle is that the shape of a building or
object should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose.”

      • johnblacksad

Lol… see… i ain’t even kno what it was all about, i was jus tryin to guess from the title. Comes out that it wasn’t even that intricate and exactly just what i thought.
So i repeat… i disagree with both you and Lupe. I believe the Form IS the Purpose.

You prolly too young to see where i’m at… live & learn… i wish you good luck in life and maybe one day you’ll see what i’m talkin about.

As for calling me an idiot tho… ahem… cough… *clearin my throat*… FUGG YOU AND YO MOMMA simple minded b!tch azz n!gga…

      • xenon2k7

I’m sorry. That was mean. Let me explain. No one questions your belief that function follows form, or that form is purpose. The issue is that you are being judgmental of a song title by saying it is wrong. Thus you are taking the superficial position of superiority because you believe your opinion is correct.

        In short: Dumb-ass.

      • johnblacksad

Your mama too! Stretchy mothafcuker… i said i disagree wit the song title… why you gotta feel all butt hurt about it?

      • johnblacksad

ok, so i just downloaded the album right… and i listened to the song “Form follows function” which is awesome by the way… although i still disagree.
“if you function well, the form will follow properly”…says Lupe at the end.

Again he is on his condescending tone tryin to tell people what to do n sh!t… not that i mind that he wants people to do good and better themselves, but see, if you’re born dark black and your name is jerome and you were born in a fugged up fugged up hood, that’s your form! now try to function with that… i been peeped what Lupe was tryin to say and i been disagreed with it… it’s just that your moron azz too slow to get on my level… i wasn’t even tryin to say i was right, just that i don’t agree, i don’t share this view… the form will define the function! and f you! oups, i mean thank you!

When a rapper tries to sell me German Cars, French champagne, and Italian clothes that’s political !

It’s reinforcing the political doctrines of capitalism, materialism and European/white supremacy.

EVERYTHING IS POLITICAL. Every choice you make is based on the system you live in.

So yes, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Jay-Z and Kanye West are all POLITICAL. They re-inforce the status quo and bend over willingly to be fucked by the corporate dick of the white guy that owns their label.

Lupe merely goes against the status quo and refuses to act ignorant to fatten the pockets of the rich white man that owns his label.

    • johnblacksad

Funny thing is Lupe gets fugged by ‘the corporate dick of the white guy’ (no homo) eitherway…!

All that stretch to not even make a point… i could tell you was some scorned Lupe fan… yes, he’s dope as fugg on the mic/lyrics whatever… but he’s such a wack person imo…

Lupe loves german cars, french champagne and japanese clothes just as much as the next ninja…. japanese clothes just as much as the next ninja…

I feel ya’ll Lupe fans… but him and ya’ll need to learn how to swallow that pill, you wish the whole world would recognize his talent and i feel ya’ll but it looks like it’s never happening… ya’ll need to move forward… LMAO… don’t be mad at me he ain’t blow ‘as much as he deserved’

Poor you… you still on that ‘rich white man’ excuse?! That’s exactly what Rick Ross, Meek Mill Jay-Z and em refuse to do

    • You mean Jew…because White people for the most part don’t invest in hiphop…but But Jews own every facet of entertainment from Movies,Music and Media….look it up.

      • MDL88

Except shareholders in the incarceration business …Look it up brother their is a reason why we have been sold the lie that going jail is cool for the last 20 years !

i don’t think lu is being self righteous as much as he tries to bring important conversation to the table. in fact in some of his songs he does rap about material things and a tinge of bravado, he just doesn’t over saturate his music with it. his main point right now is that there isn’t a lot of balance mainstream wise. he’s not saying he is the balancer but that he attempts to do his part in what he feels can offer something different. he knows everyone doesn’t or isn’t gonna rock with him. i salute ANY artist who even attempts to bring thought about important issues and values.

  • KendrickColeKrit
