Chris Lighty’s Family Seeks Second Opinion On Death

(AllHipHop News) Chris Lighty’s family is seeking a second opinion about the cause of death of the Hip-Hop mogul, who was laid to rest yesterday (September 5), in New York.

Stars like Russell Simmons, Sean “Diddy” Combs, LL Cool J, Missy Elliot and numerous others attended the funeral for Lighty, who ran Violator Management, and later, Primary Wave Management.

But Lighty was found dead last Wednesday (August 30), from on apparent suicide after an alleged spat with his wife in his Bronx apartment.

According to the Associated Press, the family has conducted a second autopsy using forensic pathologist Michael Baden.

Baden specializes in independent opinions on deaths and even testified in the O.J. Simpson trial.

The family is still awaiting the test results, but their recent comments to the press indicate that they do not believe Chris Lighty committed suicide.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, his ex-wife Veronica denied police accounts that there was an argument prior to Lighty’s suicide.

“My husband was too smart of a man. He was a genius. No smart man is going to leave his children for fighting with his wife,” Veronica Lighty told the Daily News “That makes absolutely no sense.

“We had a passionate relationship. We fought all the time,” Veronica said.

“This isn’t my brother. My brother was a strong person, is a strong person,” added Dave Lighty. “Nothing is adding up. I can’t get a direct answer from anybody…I understand there’s a process to be followed. I can’t even get clear answers from people I think I should be getting clear answers from.”

    Michael Baden?
While qualified, his ethics leave plenty to be desired.

IE: The Michael Stewart case. 1983? Police choked to death a graffiti writer who wrote on a subway poster with a ball point pen. Baden bleached Stewart’s eyeballs to hide the evidence of strangulation. ( Broken blood vessels / Capularies.)

    He will sell out!

Dr. Eliot Gross was Chief M.E., Baden had sued to get the job back after being fired in 1979, lost , but was allowed to return, just not as chief M.E.

        Specialty = Cover Ups
        Google it!

Not saying he isn’t qualified, just that he will eat the cheese!

Yeah I remember his ugly hand in that case and another one that escapes me…yeah he re-surfaced a few years back as the go to guy on a syndicated show about unsolved deaths….people don’t know his history as a cover-up forensic scientist.

Ditto that sentiment….if this was covert and planned hit….Baden’s on the payroll. Just think…if the killer has the police and the national media in their pocket…the coroner’s is on board also. They should have ordered a truly private autopsy with an off grid coroner/pathologist….Let’s pray the truth will surface.
