Rapper C-Murder's Quest For Supreme Court Appeal Delayed

(AllHipHop News) Incarcerated rapper C-Murder will have to wait to see if he will be able to appeal a 2009 murder conviction.

The rapper’s appeal was one of several major cases for the U.S. Supreme Court to review this week, but it was not on the docket for unknown reasons.

According to the Times-Picayune, no explanation was given for the delay, but it could be for several reasons, as Justices of the Supreme Court could have had asked for more time to consider the appeal.

C-Murder, born Corey Miller, was given a mandatory life sentence in Angola prison, after he was convicted of the 2002 death of 16-year-old Steven Thomas.

Thomas was shot to death inside of a now defunct, Harvey nightclub during a dispute.

Although witnesses placed C-Murder inside of the club, none were actually able to identify him as the person actually firing a weapon.

Defense witnesses have long claimed that another man, who is now deceased, was the person inside of the club that was responsible for shooting Thomas.

C-Murder has been convicted of the crime twice already.

In the first trial in 2003, the rapper was convicted, but that was overturned on appeal, when it was learned prosecutors expunged the criminal records of their witnesses.

During the 2009 trial, 10 of the 12 jurors found C-Murder guilty of Thomas’ death.

But as jurors were deliberating, one woman claimed that he was placed under undue stress to reach a verdict.

Other jurors accused another member of the jury of sleeping and reading the Bible during the deliberations.

Shortly after the case, the woman spoke to the media about the pressure she was under to make her decision.

The juror, Mary Jacob, told reporters shortly after the guilty verdict that she voted, because a Nother, younger insurer had become ill during the deliberations, since she believed see murder was innocent.

“They literally made this 20-year-old girl so violently ill,” Mary Jacob said. “She was shaking so bad. She ran into the bathroom. She was throwing her guts up. She couldn’t function anymore. That’s when I decided, the judge don’t want to listen to me, doesn’t want to listen to us? I told them, ‘You want him to be guilty? He’s guilty, now let’s get the hell out of here.”’

According to the Times-Picayune, the high Supreme Court approves less than 2% of the appeals that are filed annually.

Unknown reason for the delay? It’s called Obama has a chance to appoint 1 possibly 2 Supreme Court Judges. Tipping it to a more favorable audience.

Who was plotting against the almighty C-Murder? He fucked himself over numerous times and P covered his ass but in this case they had his ass on film.

  • Joseph Thomas

he should probably change his name….

    • therealest1

      Too late for that.

  • therealest1

It doesn’t matter whether C-Murder shot him or not, even if someone else did it the person was associated with him and C-Murder called for the kid to be shot. So that makes him an accessory which makes him as guilty as the supposed “actual” shooter.

And you can tell C-Murder didn’t hire a good Jew lawyer since they claim the “actual” shooter is dead what kind of cheap defense is that? That’s an easy cop out since the person can’t deny it or verify it.

I’m sick of everyone playing the race card about C-Murder. They guy dug his own grave, made bad decisions, trying to live that life when he was already doing well. His brothers are really terrible rappers, but at least they had common sense to get out and leave the ignorance way behind.

Always somebody not facing life with all the criticism and assumptions in the world. You dont know the situation ,but you talk like you do. If you was with somebody in the club and they got in a fight and busted somebody you wouldn’t want to do life behind that, you had nothing to do with someone’s decision to kill somebody in the heat of a fight. To say he is guilty by association is wrong and you know it.

@yahoo-V3Y3HVLN2F7EMVUDVUFOLDN6SE:disqus & @youngplaya:disqus The problem is C-Murder’s people already beat the kid up, then whoever shot him is a real ass coward because the kid was already beat down and unarmed.

Yeah, its odd and wrong a 16-year-old is in the club, but did C-Murder really need a group of people to jump a teenager? That’s some coward ass shit especially since he was already a grown man and couldn’t handle the kid himself if the kid really presented a problem. What’s worse is that C-Murder ordered the shooting, that shit ain’t gangsta or real, its bitch shit and wack.

Cuz I agree but you missing my point. You missing my point because we talking bout C Murder. So lets make it more personal. Me and you and two of my homeboyz in the club, a fight break out one of my homeboyz shoot somebody and kill them. Somebody said it was you therealest1,they saw you in the commotion of the fight, you get charged and take the rap. Did you order my homeboyz to shoot anybody? Not at all. Dude who pulled the trigger did it on his own. You don’t have nothing to do with it or even see it was about to happen. Now do you think YOU should do life in prison YOU not C? Keep it 100…HELLL NO!!LOL

    • so if you go to a club with someone and a dude with you just go crazy and kill someone you should go to prison for it?you the type of coon that will railroad your own race and get upset when a black person cry racism even if it is racism…you laugh when white ppl call you monkey..

  • Brick Soulja

Damn, the guy who was said to have committed the crime is dead now? At time of the last trial, he was serving a life sentence in Georgia for an unrelated murder. I wonder how did he end up dying in prison. It’s a shame the state of Louisiana is still so very racist. If you’re a black making money in Louisiana, you need to be packing your bags.

  • hoeyuno

p needs to step up for his little brother. p said in a interview a couple years ago that he would help cory if cory did the right thing.. meaning snitch on whoever really did it. I guess p don’t see the point spending all that scrilla when it would be cheaper for murda to rat …

  • Never knew there were so many C-Murder experts on here… SMH!
