Hip-Hop Rumors: Do The Black Hollywood Elite Oppose Django?

I’ve heard from a number of sources that the elite in Black Hollywood are not feeling “Django: Unchained,” the new movie that stars Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Well, I won’t say names, but a number of Black actors were approached to be in it, but refused. The one person that definitely didn’t agree with it was Will Smith. He flat out said no. There’s another one in Red Tails-actor Nate Parker, who is rumored to be dead set against “Django,” which is a product of Quentin Tarantino.  Then there are a bunch of others that are just not saying a lot.

This reminds me of the controversy around “Hustle & Flow.” Terrance Howard got a lot of props for that movie, but when he was going to perform “Its Hard Out Here For A Pimp” at the Oscars, the Black Hollywood Elite said, “You better not or ELSE!” And he didn’t. As history would tell it, Three Six Mafia did perform and they haven’t been the same since.

Django comes out on Christmas day and Foxx and Kerry are already nominated for Golden Globe Awards. Interesting. We’ll see how it goes.

Here is the Rick Ross song from the “Django” soundtrack. He’s eligible for an Oscar for this song! I think RZA is too.

Illseed, Out.

It’s rare for a black movie or a movie with a predominantly in Hollywood to get made.Sometime you have to take what you can. Especially if its about killing whitey lol

  • disqus_VDVJr9SFXP

    1. Will Smith said no cause of scheduling conflicts and he loved the script. His words.
    2. Jamie and Kerry are not nominated for Golden Globes.

  • The premise raised an eyebrow to me. But i’m going to see it though

  • anemia716

Doesn’t the black Hollywood elite include both Samuel L Jackson and Jamie Foxx? haha

    • Chris

I was thinking the same thing. Samuel L. and Jamie Foxx have been in the top 5 as far as black actors for at least the past 10-15 years.

No bullshit lol. Ain’t Sam Jackson in that muthafucka too?
GTFOH Black Hollywood if them niggas had clout like that we wouldn’t be seeing as many of the stereotypes we see coming out of Hollyweird.

    • kinda of a trip b/c Oprah considered one & she released “Precious”; which was NOT like the novel “Push”, where the teacher who reached out was a sista w/ locks. They had Paula Patton play the teacher in the movie & pretty much every adult who was light-skinned was nice to her, & dark-skinned folks was mean. Not to mention the scene where she runnin down the street w/ a bucket of chicken.

        THANK YOU!!!!!

      • Abrasive Angel

I read the reviews and seen the trailer and to this day still refuse to watch Precious. When black films show black people in a positive light then the reviews will be mostly negative but have a black movie where the black folks are in messed up situations then there will be mostly positive reviews. It ain’t a coincidence, we need to take control of our own images. Boomerang got a ton of negative reviews from critics and that’s only because most of the black people were in positions of power and most of the whites were subserviant to them.

Looks like a good movie though. And quintin t.. is a genius. Will Smith is for the kids. he’s not gonna take a script like this.

    • Will never crossed over, that was his style straight off the muscle!

      He’s winning!

  • This movie is gonna be the truth

    • johnblacksad

Hey, you know what, i heard from a movie critic that saw it that this was Tarantino’s best movie, flat out.

      I can’t fcukin wait!

      • Lamonte Johnson

        Right yo

      • Tarantino always loved black exploitation. Bascially Jackie brown is his obsession w/ black women. He is obsessed w/ black ppl and this is the movie he wanted to do his whole life. With Obama president, this should be epic.

  • Q.

LOL “Black Hollywood Elite?” Half of them are in the movie!

Make no mistake, Black folks don’t run NAN in Hollywood.

  • TruthSerum

People Cry about everything Quentin Tarantino makes……..Spike Lee threw a temper tantrum about Jackie Brown but nobody cared, I remember they asked Quentin about it and he said Spike would “have to climb a step ladder just to kiss my ass” and kept it moving lol……. People complained about Kill Bill for the violence, Jews pitched a fit about Inglorious Bastards, yada yada yada…… If people aren’t bothered by a quentin movie, it’ll mean he did something wrong

  • Chris

Which would you rather see? Jamie Foxx shuckin’ and jivin’ or Jamie Foxx whippin’ @sses for his Black Queen? F*ck outta here, so-called “Black Hollywood”.

  • ross up for an oscar? WINNING

  • Joseph Thomas

they weren’t against the film……they were against the man who made the film…..they’d rather this be written by someone from “Black Hollywood Elite”

Fucc the blacc Hollywood elite. They need to get their heads outta their azzez

  • Michael Thumpasounds Wayne

Yeah Three 6 Mafia haven’t been the same since the oscar, they got richer after that

    • You don’t get money along with the Oscar, but that topic is nothing to do with Django.

  • Oknas

“i seen 100 niggaz die, I put that on my life, lord i wouldnt tell a lie, unless it had to do with mine” – Officer Ricky

Ok, so its fine for tyler perry to dress up in drag in all his movies and for sam jackson to wear a pink wig and act like nikki minaj in the bet awards. But if we have a dignified actor playing a black cowboy in a white mans movie, the shit needs to get shut down and people need to get black balled. Yo, word to dave chapelle, how bout yall stop all these great black actors from having to wear dresses in they movies

Well the Black Hollywood Elite needs to make their mind up because they don’t have a problem with black man wearing a dress in his movies and doing coon shit.

  • $18592567

Black Hollywood Elite are all for sale. GTFOH w/this story.

    Denzel Washington Training Day
    Halle Berry Monster’s Ball
Will Smith 6 Degrees of Separation
    Jamie Foxx Django
    Tyler Perry His Whole Career

    who’d I miss???

  • By the way, there is no such thing as a Black Hollywood Elite. There are Producers from Studios connected to corporations who make entertainment in an attempt to make huge returns. The storytellers of our generation, no longer sitting around a campfire. Without money, you can’t make an epic film, so quit being a conspiracy theorist and life your life.

I am so excited to see this film! I don’t see anything wrong with black actors playing slaves, historically they played the best slaves in movies, PLUS he’s totally whooping ass and that’s going to be so fricken dope!
