Joey Badass, Joey Bada$$

VIDEO: Breeding Ground Spotlight – Joey Bada$$

There are few MCs to accomplish what this Brooklyn spitter has accomplished in a career, let alone by the age of 17. Joey Bada$$ is young, talented, and shall we say, a “bad a$$” rapper. Being part of Cinematic Music Group has help him to grow alongside the likes of Smoke DZA (#BGA), Big KRIT, and a roster of other talent to learn from. These days, Joey is blazing his own lane by spearheading the Pro Era collective.

Joey and Pro Era hosted a show in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and AllHipHop.com spoke with they young rappers backstage about Brooklyn, his musical influences, and his collaboration with Ab-Soul (#BGA).

Take a look at AllHipHop.com’s interview with Joey Bada$$, along with some behind the scenes footage of his visit to NBC’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon”:

20 years ago Hip Hop had a MC rise from the ashes and take lyrical MCing to another level, Nas was that MC….I think Joey has that same potential…..he young, lyrical and hungry…his performance on Jimmy Fallon was lacking only in one area and that was working the stage from both sides to garner stronger crowd participation but everything else was flawless…I was very impressed with youngin’….no bullshyt, I havent listened to one MC this year…and when I do listen, its classics from my collection….I do not fukk with any of these new niggaz….youngin breathe life back in my dying interest in hip hop…I just hope he stay lyrical, stay with real subject matter….i give the lil nigga two thumbs up
