From Cuffs To Christ: Chief Keef To Be Baptized

(AllHipHop News) Everyone deserves a second chance and after his juvenile bid, Chief Keef will have a second life. Chicago’s “Rooftop Pastor” Reverand Corey Brooks plans on baptizing the  trouble teen MC once he returns.

Rev. Brooks visited Chief Keef and claims the teen “is not a bad kid” and  mis-perception, not pure evil, is the reason for his mischief, according to Global Grind.  “I think people forget he is 17 years old,” Brooks says. The New Beginnings Church pastor further humanized the destructive image of Chief Keef Keith Cozart:

“He is an entertainer, that is how he sees himself. But at the same time, he has a God-consciousness. He is not some terror who is wreaking havoc.”

The baptism is expected to take place at Rev. Brooks’ New Beginnings Church in Chicago’s  Woodlawn neighborhood.

Corey Brooks is known as the “rooftop pastor” for his 94-day vigil atop a  now-demolished Super Motel across from the New Beginnings Church aimed to bring a community center to the area in the midst of the recent violence. The innovative religious leader received $100,000 from Tyler Perry in February of last year.

In addition to a baptism, Chief Keef will be coming home to a child support case for a baby he allegedly fathered in 2011.

A positive Cheif Keef = no money for Jimmy Iovine so look for him to get dropped as soon as he cleans up his act. That’s a major if! Jimmy Iovine is only interested in music that is destructive to the black community. If Chief Keef fails to provide that, Jimmy has no interest in pushing his music.

      • What does more damage than accepting you oppressors religion, when their justification for you slavery isn’t that hard, because it’s right in the eyes of their God?

If it sells, Jimmy will be ( In Mike Tyson’s Voice >> ) “ecstatic.”

      • Best Comment Advanced Dialogue

Probably not, they don’t want nobody talkin’ about god, only lucifer.

      • Or Lucifer as GOD?

      • Best Comment Advanced Dialogue

Yeah, Lucifer is their god. Jimmy Iovine’s son’s nickname is “The Eye”, I just seen that shit yesterday, the nigga is named Jamie Iovine. SMH

That’s not true, Christianity isn’t the religion of the oppressor, Satan is just a crafty one think about it Jesus is a Jew yet this country hated Jews as well. The KKK call themselves Christians but killed the very people that represent the God they claim to believe in. White people utilized the existence of slavery that’s spoken on in the bible but it was God’s people that were enslaved as a form of control, not black people.

And let’s not forget the fact that it was the Muslim believing black people who helped enslave their own is the religion that every black person is running to because they believe Christianity is the white man’s religion again it’s not even based on this country or Europe how can it be the white man’s religion? Slavery was all about class not race. Read the bible for yourself then form an opinion. Oh and I can’t say a thing concerning this Pastor because I don’t know him or what he’s teaching. Satan is a crafty one in that way too!

you should know your history before you start writing. Christianity is the religion of the oppressor, it was pushed onto the slaves, indians, and pretty much anyone who had any other belief system.

      • Technically, Jesus was a Hebrew, that practiced Judaism, not an AshkeNazi / European Jew, that is in the State of Israel.

        Moses = Hebrew = Pharaoh = Egyptian = African = Black

You are generally on point, but I never mentioned race, which coincides with your observation about class struggles.

I have read the bible, and I think Christianity is the devil’s religion because it teaches against God & breaks the 10 Commandments or Decalogue given by God.

#1) = Have no other God, yet it teaches the Trinity, equating not only Jesus, but the angel Gabriel with God.

Nation Of Islam does the same with W. Fard Muhhamed.

#2) No images of anything in heaven

Jesus on cross, angels, etc. on every church wall, Michael Angelo’s painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel

#3) Remember the Sabbath & keep it Holy

God says he/she? will show steadfast love to the keepers of the commandments, and says he/she? will break you off something proper if for breaking them.

The symbol is a cross, which represented the state’s form of capital punishment at the time. Imagine the look that would be on Jesus’ face, if he passed some one walking on the streets of heaven rocking a crucifix, with him hanging lifelessly on it.

Talk about violence in rap music, but ignore the image of Jesus, the mightiest messenger of God, on a cross in totally misery, hanging off the neck of an infant, and in God’s house of worship, where they worship Jesus, who never asked to be worshiped.

Matt 7:22 / 23 = Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Translates & pronounced in Aramic as “Foot Sack”, like a bag that is made for kicking instead of carrying, or in Ebonics as “Kick Rocks”. ** In Ebonics a derogatory slur is often used to illustrate emphasis.

        IE: “Kick Rockz “N-Word!”

That is what Jesus says that he will tell those who cast out demons, prophesied and did many wonderful works in his name.

Is all about what you chose to accept in your life…Christianity…or the teachings of Christ, because they are not the same thing.

A god consciousness? Where do preachers and stuff get this kinda crap? TF

    • Best Comment Advanced Dialogue

Uh, god consciousness is an understanding that the spirit of god exists and isn’t just fabricated.

      • just_some_bastard #ALCOHOLIC

what’s it called when you have an understanding that it is fabricated?

      • Best Comment Advanced Dialogue

That’s called believing lies. LOL. But when you connect to god, you’ll know and see that there’s no way to confuse what’s real for a lie.

      • Lamonte Johnson

So getting baptized is posta make that happen? Only common sense and good upbringing gives you that

      • Best Comment Advanced Dialogue

Nah, I didn’t say that. Using the word “good” is an opinion, what is “good”? Most people ain’t foolin’ with spirituality. Reading the bible does not make a man spiritual, speaking about god does not necessarily mean a man is spiritual. Spirituality is when you can trust your deepest natural instincts and allow yourself to become “one with the world” then everything will just happen perfectly for people but instead they try to use their own tactics and the world ends up like this.
I had a decent upbringing I guess but spirituality is what opened life’s door for me. God is amazing. I’ve witnessed some things that would make people tell me I’m delusional, all because of my connection to god. Once you connect, it’s hard to disconnect from him. If you’re not connected, it can be hard to get connected at first.

      • Lamonte Johnson

I agree with you 100 percent my life was pretty much the same as urs in relation to what u just said but what im saying bout this nigga keef is that him gettin baptized aint gone just automatically do w.e. changing he may or may not need in life

      • Best Comment Advanced Dialogue

Aw naw, gettin’ baptised is not gonna change a man’s thought process or view of life unless he is just so determined and willing to change that he just “gets it” and never looks back. But God teaches by making us go through obstacles that are designed to give us examples and reasons for why we need to change ourselves. It takes a while.

  • a second chance at life though? a 60-day sentence isnt life-threatening….

    • Q williams

Im not an atheist, but this is entertainment, if he goes thru with this baptism, watch how everybody will turn on him, and he is supposedly a gang member, but then again he probably told that preacher anything to get him off his back.

  • hoeyuno

When ppls are in jail they’ll grab anything positive for the time being in hopes of being released early.. but he is only 17 and does not deserved to be written off. maybe we got the next pastor mase on our hand… who knows.
