Waka Flocka Says He Doesn’t Know Where Hip-Hop Started, Preparing For Other Endeavors

(AllHipHop News) While in New York City recently Waka Flocka Flame spoke about his lack of interest in Hip-Hop, his philanthropic work, and his move into television and film.

“I’m not a Hip-Hop fan,” says Waka. “I can’t even tell you where Hip-Hop started. God’s honest truth.” The 26-year-old went on to share that he is more interested in exploring other genres like EDM.

Outside of music, Waka revealed he is working on a show for Cartoon Network and a few movie deals. He is also focused on a several community-based projects.

One of his charitable ventures has hit a snag. The Atlanta-based rapper said he is having trouble getting approval to build a YMCA in his neighborhood.

    Interesting to learn he’s actively trying to do something to help his community. The cynic in me believes that if he was promoting something to harm his community, monied-interests would be bending over backwards to help him realize an exploitative dream. Yet, positivity isn’t marketable…neither profitable. So, I guess he’ll have difficulties in philanthropy. :-/

    funny thing everyone on here talking about his lack of music, but nobody here sees that he was trying to give back to his community and they are blocking him? I find that more disturbing, than his lack of motivation for music.
