Flavor Flav May Be Out Of The Fried Chicken Biz Soon

(AllHipHop News) Flavor Flav is currently on tour with LL Cool J, De La Soul, Public Enemy and Ice Cube as a part of the Kings of the Mic tour, but he’s got a problem with one of his business ventures.

His fast food chicken joint has been slapped with eviction papers, according to TMZ.

Flavor Flav’s Chicken & Ribs in Sterling Heights, MI has been ordered to evict from the premises after failing to pay rent since the day it opened in December 2012.

The legendary rapper has two other chicken joints that have come and gone. The rapper/hype man has seen the demise of one chicken spot in Iowa of 2011 and another in Vegas later in 2012.

Flavor Flav’s Chicken & Ribs owes $25,000 and must pay soon or be kicked out. The amount is the total of rent, late feels and damages.

Flavor Flav is so irresponsible. This guy is the last person you want deciding to start his own business or run your own business, because it won’t take long for him to screw it up.

    • Chrisblackusa

Flav is gifted..he has many things going on that’s not in ya news…takes care of all his kids like a father should …still got gwap …and has a nephew that is a wall street brain….he ain’t invest nothing but his image and got paid upfront for them to use his image….how much you get paid for yours…….

    • AG Awesome

Peep game …this is people who step to him to use his image and pay him money upfront and a royalty at the end of the year…he did not invest 1 penny….he got some dough and didn’t lose nothing ….

    • If so, smart move!

      • Chrisblackusa

Yo e….from shipping in for a .25cent bag of chips as kids to spending 25gee on chips in Vegas i know…when it hit the fan and all the tuff homes ran but him to bring blood…i know…..he got his upfront dough and if it goes to court check the names…it won’t be his…

      • Chrisblackusa

        That’s chipping in….freaking spell check

      • I got you!

        LOL~N

        Real Spill

Until the drummer stops & those 25K chips, could have been used for residual income.

Flav is always going to be alright though.

  • The chicken looked good, granted, Flav handling it without gloves, on camera, wasn’t a good look, but I would definitely support Flav over KFC.

I think he should have started it in his home town or the hood.
    Iowa fried chicken jawnt?

That didn’t seem like the best location. #IJS

probably because the rent is expensive in new york which is why he opened it in other locations

      • I didn’t even think about those type of locations. IE: Times Square, Union Square, etc.

When I said “HomeTown”, I meant Strong Island, CrimeDaynch, aka : Long Island, Wyandanch, NY.

You might think that ‘chet is all rich white people suburbs, and it is, for the most part, but their ‘Hood is probably ‘Hood’er than most ‘Hoods.
*With the exception of Park Hill, Staten Island ( Wu’s Hood ) SMDH

That ‘chet is off the fuggin’ meter & you sense it automatically.

If I had to describe either ‘Hood or Bed Sty in 1 word, it would be :
        “INTENSE.”

So the rents are much cheaper, in fact, he probably could afford to BUY the building, renovate it & receive total support in the community.

It would be a whole lot easier making it as the big fish in the small lake….than as the small fish in the big ocean.

        (*Business-wise )

        *Inappropriate Behavior

Flip side is, if he was paid just to use his image, no loss, but he could build off that momentum, and his hometown.

Build a building that has Chicken Jawnt, Barber shop, bar, and store / mall / flea market in one spot…..and a studio booth.

Hire his kids & let them run the separate businesses.

*As opposed to smoking up the $$$

While your idea sounds uplifting, it has proven in the past to not be profitable long-term and way too risky of being shut down prematurely.

      • Indeed, 5yrs is the usual time for restaurant to go under, but that’s not usually with a building paid for & other businesses within it, or community support.

        Diversified income.
Food / Bar , Laundromat, hair place & flea market type deal with free wifi.

        Extra chances to earn.

      • Bman22

And have you noticed how many abandoned businesses there are in the hood nowadays? They’re everywhere. I’m gonna go out on a limb to say Flav can’t afford to lose too much money to a bad investment like Magic Johnson can/did with those movie theaters. And no one in their right mind would dare buy the building from him. It’s unfortunate, but businesses in the hood don’t last long-term. They change owners every other year or just close altogether, thus creating another eye sore for the community to see, adding to everyone’s misery. If having a business like that was profitable, the truly rich dudes in hip hop would’ve done it already. Even with city backing such a project, it’s way too risky for anyone out to make a profit.

However, I do agree that it would fit Flav’s persona better to have some hood businesses like that.

      • Matt Swan

He could even open up a flava flave strip joint called Flava so you can eat your chicken and look at skrippers all in the same spot. Hire some local “college coeds” to strip, and invite rappers like Rosay to bring in money. Invite Coco…I bet you $10 AP9 will be there

  • The guys failed at this venture, big deal.

Businesses fail not all are successful.

One thing to add is people think because they have fans
that they can go out and create a business venture without
doing the right kind of research before launching a venture.
Fans don’t always translate into money.

If this was a success, I doubt there will be stories about it.

    • ItGoesDownINtheDM

i think he did the right kind of research just bad management ….

  • AK
