Hip-Hop Rumors: Diddy, Drake And J. Cole Respond To Kendrick Lamar!

Aw man! This may as well be called “Kendrick Lamar Week.” Well, I know you hit that link as I did when I was sent it from one of my adorning readers. Not everybody hates me! Anyway, the fact is…people want to hear from some of these cats that Cole mentioned. I guess nobody is really trying to take the “bait,” but this is Hip-Hop! Gladiator sh*t! Jump in the ring when you get challenged!

Somebody put together a very funny compilation of video that envisions their reply. Big Sean too. Very funny.

Diddy had something to say about it too.

We know Diddy’s perspective.

This is why Kendrick can rock out like he can though. He has every single OG on the West Coast…at his back. Look at this picture. Powerful.

    Reactionary shits.

  • Reblogged this on On Blast.

He didn’t diss anybody he mentioned in the verse. The only people that got dissed were the ones he didn’t mention. Pay Attention. Nobody he mentioned is going to respond. Ya’ll are confusing shit talking between friends as dissing. It’s too many dumb niggaz tryin’ to analyze lyrics and you don’t know what your talking about.

    • Asia James

thank you, I been sayin the same damn thing. He mentioned rappers he collaborates and tours with. They know him and dont see this the way fans and the media see it. He didnt clown any of these dudes and folks act like they supposed to pen a diss record to him! Come on yall, him and Cole supposed to do an album together and just read Kendrick wants to work with Drake again. This needs to stop its getting ridiculous now.

    • Celz

Niggas who feel it’s a diss are either a) but hurt they didn’t get mentioned b) butt hurt they favorite rapper didn’t get mentioned or c) don’t know shyt about hiphop.

When I’m in the cypher spittin I’m better than Pac and Big.. And if them niccas came back from the dead and beat me in your opinion.. I STILL THINK I’M BETTER in my eyes.. Niccas is used to that fake hustlin pimp rap.. Shyt ain’t even accurate, niccas talkin about bein pimps and makin it rain on hoes lmao GTFOH.. Kendrick is on some emcee shyt.. Niccas ain’t used that shyt..

      • Lubit

Why did you use 2pac and Biggie as examples though as if they are or were the best rappers? Popular, yes, but death made the myths come up. Talented, yes. But you couldve used better examples since you wanna talk about emcee shit. There has always been better rappers than them, before and after they died.

      • Celz

Did you not understand my point? Did mentioning two greats, who IMO are among but not the best, lessen the meaning of what I said? If I would have mentioned Mausberg and Big L, an East and West Coast rapper who were nastier on the mic than Pac and Big (but way less accomplished all around) would you agree with my comment’s point more?

You’re nitpickin any name I would have said would not have changed the meaning of my comment. I never said that Pac and Big were the best to ever touch the mic. And then you go out on some long ass irrelevant tangent that no one was talking about.

But since you asked I used Pac and Big because someone who doesn’t understand the emcee mindset doesn’t know about Ras Kass, Kool G Rap, Immortal Technique, Chino XL, Planet Asia, Cormega, and etc etc..

      • Well, that clarified it, but…..I didn’t think it should have needed it.

      • Malik

Co-signed. Biggie, with all the hyped talk of him being the GOAT has nothing on Nas.

        And yea, I said it.

  • DJ7

Of all the whack ass music that has been circulating for the past ten years KL’s verse was better than most of any of these new cats whole whack ass mixtape and so called debut. Finally somebody you younginz need to grab hold too and take notes.Real hip hop gets you respect not copy cat everybody BS. The only cat to pay attention to these days …hope he doesn’t falter but respect to real folks who live this for real.

    • Eli Pinilla

Your crazy!!! new cats been puttin work in for a min. U just not up on the new shit…danny brown, freddie gibbs, big krit, action bronsson, Tde, chance the rapper, 360, dom kennedy, king los….they all done dropped Great material in the past year or so….asap and all them boys included….get familiar homie. Been rockin with kendrick since od in 2010. These dudes is all new nggz thats tryin to make hiphop hiphop again….

      • Thomas Smith

you had me going with Danny Brown (note: even though he’s not a new cat) freddie gibbs, big krit, Action Bronson, but 360, dom kennedy, king los, nah man you they not on that level at…..you been rockin’ Kendrick since 2010? smh I’ve been listening to kendrick since 03′ man….

      • Eli Pinilla

Just bringin up new nggz thats really either doin they thing or on the way up….kendrick i knew as kdot originally but that was cuz he was fuckin with little brother and j rock. But as far as his own material, it was the kdot ep and od that really had me like whoa…360 commin up and dom kennedy got some shit….king los dropped the best response lyrically at kendrick…tde is schoolboy q ab sol and them boys. They on the way up….as a whole, new nggz is def steppin they game up. Shit, the oldest new ngga in the game is drake really. Since his first Major label shit dropped in 2010 ….

      • Thomas Smith

but I don’t really see those guys lasting that long in this game….Black hippy is a very good start to bring back that old hip hop feel that been missing for years…….but i’m glad you brought up little brother I miss when they were together…..they were another breathe of fresh air for hip hop

      • Eli Pinilla

I see a few having a good stay…freddie gibbs, krit, brown, and action. I see what u sayin though( dom big in cali though)…..black hippy is def the move. I aint gone lie, i like some of the asap shit they put out….little brother is the ultimate…phonte and black thought in my eyes are the most underrated ever…phontes dropped verses that have changed my views at shit. Specially songs like “all for you”…there was a time when all the new shit i listened to was little brother and the re up gang

      • johnblacksad

Los has one of the, if not the best lyrical response… stayed on the subject and he went hard and made it look effortless!

    • Josh Sykes

Childish Gambino every bit as good as Kendrick

    • You need to check out people like Joey Bada$$ and his Pro Era crew for that old school NY feel. Earl Sweatshirt and Captain Murphy have that MF Doom feel. Check out Summer Knights and Doris.

  • speedy37

That King of NY line went way over all these niggas heads.. hes claiming KING OF HIPHOP!! damn

    • fidel cashflow

      then he shouda said that

      • Peace

he did but your ass is too remedial to understand how

      • krow132

“Im Makaveli’s offspring, Im the king of New York

King of the coast, one hand I juggle them both”

so yeah he is saying he is the king of hip hop. he just individualized them instead of saying he is the king of both off one line

  • Schooly B

You know what I hate? Stupid mofos that use words not knowing what they mean. Case in point illseed and every other stupid mofo that I have seen or heard use the word “Adorn” improperly. I get it, you heard Miguels song and he said “Let my love adorn you” and you stupid arseholes who do not have a firm grasp on the english language thought he meant adore… No, he meant adorn. As in to enhance the appearance of especially with beautiful objects or to enliven or decorate as if with ornaments. Therefor, he is saying he wants to cover or surround the object of his affection in his love… Get it? The word you slow witted troglodytes are searching for is “Adore” or in the case of the ever ignorant illseed is “Adoring”. As in to worship or honor as a deity or as divine or to regard with loving admiration and devotion. And I believe that is reaching for the highest shelf for absolutely no reason at all. In this country we speak English, and if you have lived here all of your life, and if it is your job to write articles in the english language, then your stupid arse should be able to know the difference between synonyms and homonyms.

    Class Dismissed.

  • OSBKE3000

Kendrick put more thought into his lines than most .. which is why he could say what he said .. I think most fans of the music are bias and think just cuz Kendrick from the West he gota be garbage and can’t come wit deep or some off the wall shit like is expected of an east coast rapper .. that was his point an I think it went over people’s head wit the “Im the King of New York” line

To me Nas will always be the King of New York! Hands down! No one spit bars like Nasir! Even Biggie new that! Who you thought kick in the door was for!

Nas, the True King of the hold rap shit!

    • fabbidavisjr

nas the best story teller biggie had better delivery and style thou.

      • IToldYoMommaYouAintSh_t

Oooh man I don’t know if Nas tells Better stories than Big…but it’s like this…u ain’t a King if your dead…you can be a God…but u ain’t the King dealing with evolving problems in a new age. So with that said the reigning Kings of New york need to be broken down into Burroughs..

Queens: Nas is King/Nicki is Queen
Brooklyn: Jay Z (Biggie is the God of Brooklyn)
Staten Island: ??? Ghostface/Raekwon/Methodman nah I’m going to say the RZA (because he created it all and is taking Shao lin to new heights even though the other 3 are better rappers I’m going as a King I think RZA is the glue. When it’s time for War he can get the team assembled)
Bronx: ? Still KRS-1 (cuz he is alive and Pun is the God of the Bronx)
Harlem: ? Diddy (cuz Big L is the God of Harlem and even though Diddy can’t rap he is still the King of Harlem and if he snaps his fingers niggaz gone move!)…ASAP Rocky is the young prince I guess

        Just my opinion

  • Ike’s Mood
