Trindad James To Joe Budden: “If You Don’t Like Me, Fight Me” (VIDEO)

This ain’t for bandwagon fans, sit ya asses in the same spot/ Y’all the same n—as that made Trinidad James hot.”-Joe Budden

(AllHipHop News) Trinidad James’ first mixtape told the world Dont Be S.A.F.E. and now he’s telling his detractors don’t be stupid. In a recent interview, the All Gold Everything rapper responded to Joe Budden’s disparaging remarks in his “Lost Control” response to Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse.

James expressed no malice towards the New Jersey lyricist but did offer a physical way to remedy their differences:

It’s all love, I mean, I make music to answer a lot of those types of questions,” James said in an interview when asked about Budden’s lines. “I don’t consider it a diss. I’m from the streets so a n*gga talking is like a n*gga talking. A n*gga punching, you don’t like me, then you fight me. That’s why I make the songs to let you know, if you don’t like me, then you can fight me. I’m never going to diss you back, we gonna throw these hands back and forth. That’s all this is about.

Trinidad James will be taking his talents to the improv stage this Friday at Cipha Sounds’ weekly Hip Hop improv show Take It Personal. The show is every Friday, 9pm at the UCB Theater on East 3rd Street and Avenue A in New York City’s LES area.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here

  • Trinidad James makes Decent Music…Its Not The Greatest But Good Enough…Its a Time and Place for Everything and Sometimes You Don’t Wanna Hear A Super Lyrical Rapper….I Like Hip Hops State Right Now, Pretty Much Somethin For Everybody…I Think Alot of People Respect Him More As a Person Than Musically Cause He Seems to Be Pretty Down To Earth and Business Minded In Every Interview…Mixtape Was Ok, Like The First One Better Though Personally.

    • Live Well

There is no place for Trinidad James, dog. At least not in the role of emcee.

      • but music isn’t strictly about Emceeing…you listen to Jazz and there isn’t a lyric on there just sounds…when I’m on my motorcycle and “All Gold Everything” Comes on That Shit Get’s Me Hype, Because The Beat Just Has a Vibe To It, And If You Really Break Down His Lyrics on There They Really Weren’t That Bad…Some People Just Like Super Lyrical People and Some Like Music…Them Old School “I Said a Hip Hop a Hippiy To The Hippiy” as niggaz ain’t have no Lyrics lol but they were considered Emcees

      • JerZeBoy

Trinidad James is the East Coast up north Gucci Mane with his music

      • idk bout that, i can honestly only think of 3 Gucci Mane Tracks Ever “Spotlight ft Usher” was a Hit to Me, His Delivery was tight with ok lyrics, but overall it was a great track that didn’t get a strong enough push…”So Icy ft Young Jeezy” wasn’t a Bad Introduction for Him, and “Wasted ft Plies” was Dope…and i Give Him The Track With Wayne, he smashed that Feature…but can’t really say that i like Gucci Over Trinidad as a Whole…I Like Trinidad on That Asap Ferg Track “Work Remix” too

      • JerZeBoy

I mean they are similar that they are both slow, simple minded lyrics….

      • i think conceptually Trinidad is better…if you break down “Ladies Welcomed” the chorus “Now My Side Chick Is My Main Chick Cause My Main Chick Ain’t Feeling Me, No Mo, No Mo” I Think It Was Different Good vs Different Bad…and Again Up North Rappers Go Too Big Sometimes and People Don’t Care To Dig That Deep Into Music…For Example a North Rapper Would Say “I’d Grab The Titanium and Put It To Your Cranium And Blow Your Head To Smithereens” or some shit and a South Nigga Would Keep It Simple By Saying “I’ll Put a Glock To Your Top and Make That Bitch Pop”…Both Mean The Same Thing But Its Just More Direct vs Trying to Break Down What It Is The North Nigga Is Sayin…So It’s Not That They’re Slow Minded, Just Like With Plies, Alot of Them Are Smart Enough To Dumb Down They’re Lyrics to Appeal To The Masses.

      • Live Well

The All Gold beat was dope but you can’t tell me he made the beat better. That beat stood on it’s own. In fact, the hot version of that record was the remix MINUS Trinidad James because actual skilled emcees hopped on it. He’s the TIm Tebow of rap. He had one hot record and you can’t take that away from him, however everybody knows it was a fluke. All that said, If people like him, more power to them. He clearly has a few fans and he should give them music. I don’t think they are core fans though, I think they’re just into the ratchet era of music for the moment.

      • i agree with that, i don’t think he has actual fans, just people who appreciate somethin different from what everyone is doing…think u hit it on the head with the “Ratchet Era Music” though…for some reason i still like the All Gold Everything Original over the remix though, probably because it was just that original…he didn’t do the typical 16…the whole ep was unorthodox…have you listened to the project though? i swear i gained a new level of respect for him when he told Peter Rosenburg If You Haven’t Heard My Project In Its Entirety How Can You Formulate and Opinion About Me…i think it was one of the realest statements made…even to the point that i listen to every sec of an album now before i say somethin good or bad about it…even TJ said AGE wasn’t his favorite track on the EP.

      • Matt Swan

The remix videos on utube killed it. I still can’t stop laughing at them. But thanks to y’all I’m going to go on a tangent and give ol boy a chance. I’m going to listen to this but being an MC is being lyrically superior rather than todays rappers who say anything about nothing.

      • Live Well

His production choices were interesting so I’ll try listening again, bro. Maybe I had my mind made up that he was trash after AGE and missed something.

      • possibly…i just say give everyone a fair listen…i was going so hard against the dude Rich Homie Quan…because in his interviews he sounds slow and dumb, figured he’s another one hit wonder…i started youtubing the lil dude and he got some shit!! lol that dude beat selection are dope as hell, good enough lyrics and good deliveries and hooks, had to call my friend who told me about him and said “hey bro, you were right, that lil nigga got somethin” and downloaded the mixtape…actually about to listen to the whole thing in a little bit.

      • Tom Rufer

My guess is you haven’t actually sat down and heard either of his two albums. Emcee derives from master of ceremonies. Trinidad James got that on lock. He has a strong voice and flow. and Topically he speaks real man everyday shit. The man is a true artist. Really give “Don’t Be S.A.F.E.” an honest listen. You’re confusing emcee with lyricist.

      • Live Well

Bruh, I tried to give his stuff a listen. It was unlistenable (I know that’s not a real word). He sounds like Lil B just rambling on and barely rhyming. By his own admission, he became a rapper on accident. He just started rapping about a year ago and it shows. Actually, I don’t even consider what he does to be rapping. He is just doin some kinda spaced out weirdo Ratchet-Hop. To me, the only thing artistic about this cat is his ridiculous look.

      • Nah Boss That Don’t Be Safe EP didn’t Let Me Down Personally It Was Definitely worth a few listens…I Was Editing a Spoof Video with 2 other people in the Studio with me and we went ract for track and we were like “okay so far 1 for 1, then okay he’s 2 for 2…next thing we know he was 10 for 10″…dude had a good project…didn’t care for the full last mixtape though.

      • andone

i will say his raps arent for everyone… but hes not as bad as ur makin it out to be… dont be s.a.f.e was nice/decent @ the very least and has style that is different for the right reasons imo… there’s still plenty of room for other cats too and they all dont have to be the same… T. James has a lane in hip hop/rap but to be fair its too soon to tell exactly how much success he will have in the game… till then ima be given him the benefit of a doubt tho!

      • Tom Rufer

ratchet-hop is a good term. I prerfer to call it Trash-Rap myself. But it’s cool and it bangs and most importantly its honest music.

Lil B is another guy. You might not like his music(I am not a fan), but its honest true art.

      • i couldn’t get into lil b lmao…i really really tried…that nigga there is like the worst, and i actually think thats his goal to be known as the worst rapper…funny thing about lil b is that the nigga actually can rap!!!, once i realized that he was the same dud from “The Pack” i went back and listened to the tracks and was like “Nah this Nigga Lil B Playin Garbage, He Can Flow” i’m not sayin that he was a lyricist but he can deliver flow wise on the beat..this Lil B shit he doing lately is off beat, no lyrics, wack beat etc…but that lil nigga got a hell of a following!!! lol

  • JerZeBoy

wait I saw an interview a couple months ago where Buddens was promoting James because he thought his shit was cool? anyone else see that interview? now they are beefing? lol there goes Joes Bipolar shit again…..he still one of my top 10…Buddens that is not Trindead…lol

This dude cant even beat Miley Cyrus, GTFO LOL!

  • soyhiphop

    one hit wonder

  • PhilTheGreat

People hating on Trinidad and all he has out is 2 mixtapes. It really isn’t his fault that people hyped him up so much and he got signed. He was just doing him at the end of the day and rather you agree with him or not, him being himself is “real” all day long. He represents a crowd and raps to anyone who listens. He seems genuine in his interview and not like he think he is God or greater than anyone else so he’s cool in my book. Dude just trying to get money, anyone buying his music is on them.

  • j_pullia

Hopefully his feelings are hurt and he’ll never make another record in his life. He’s in my Top 5 Dead or Alive Worst rappers ever list.

  • YoungPrime

Dude literally looks like something from a Dave Chappelle skit.

Why fight someone who would scratch you with his bitch nails? ‘There aint gonna be no tussling my nigga I aint tryna fight ya, imma pay the piper to snipe ya!’
