Big Boi Confirms New Solo Album

(AllHipHop News) With all the speculation flying around about what exactly are the members of OutKast cooking up in the studio, there is finally confirmation from one of the actual ATLiens about an upcoming project. Big Boi spoke with Revolt recently, and one half of the Kast revealed he is working on new music for a solo LP.

“We’ve got a couple new jams we’ve recorded in the studio recently,” said Big Boi. “So, you know, look out for that new Big Boi solo record coming soon.”

Big Boi’s next album will be the follow-up to 2012’s Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. His critically acclaimed debut solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, was released in 2010.

OutKast fans will still have to wait for final word on whether the duo is planning to drop a reunion album in the near future, but producer Mr. DJ previously announced that Andre 3000 is currently recording for his forthcoming solo debut album as well.

Its interesting that this guy is going to be on his 3rd solo album while Andre 3000 has never released a solo outing since they began doing their own things.

Yeah, but it’s funny how nobody cops the big boi solo albums but still want the
andre 3000 album even though he has yet to drop an official single. I think 3000 will still lyrically murrrrrrder big boi hands down when it comes for bar for bar emceeing. No singing lol

Well his 1st album sold about 200k and the 2nd album sold 100k. So yes some people are but with being an international star and the millions of people who know who he is and have bought his albums while being a part of Outkast I just figured he would have greater sales even though it’s not an outkast album and the business is on a donward sprial. Butt really homie did you buy both albums ? NO but because ofmthis conversation your gonna say you did lol

      • Chris M. McDade

I didn’t. I haven’t heard the first album, but listened to the second one on spotify. Didn’t care for it. I still buy music though, but not everything. I’m an avid music enthusiast, so I can’t possibly buy every single album I want. I’m guessing I cop about 20-50 albums a year. At least…

nah big boi was always the better RAPPER flow wise but 3000 is a nose ahead in lyrics. I hate how Big gets no shine. Ppl still obsessed over 3000 while Big Boi is still grinding. I guarantee you if you take Big Boi’s voice off his albums and put on Andre’s voice but keep all the lyrics and hooks and beats ceteris paribus, they would all be platinum.

      • Chris M. McDade

Eminem has definitely not lost his passion! He works all the time. He’s constantly writing new lyrics.
