Kobe Bryant Shares More Thoughts On Trayvon Martin

(AllHipHop News) Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant started a heated debate online when he made comments recently about the African-American community’s support for slain teenage Trayvon Martin. In an interview with The New Yorker, Bryant questioned the idea of defending Martin just because he was black.

Bryant said:

I won’t react to something just because I’m supposed to, because I’m an African-American. That argument doesn’t make any sense to me. So we want to advance as a society and a culture, but, say, if something happens to an African-American we immediately come to his defense? Yet you want to talk about how far we’ve progressed as a society? Well, we’ve progressed as a society, then don’t jump to somebody’s defense just because they’re African-American. You sit and you listen to the facts just like you would in any other situation, right? So I won’t assert myself.

Bryant took to Twitter to now express his belief that Martin was “wronged” and “the system did not work.”

& by wronged you mean murdered.

This just Kobe trying to save face because of his agents. Kobe knows Trayvon deserved that bullet, and he was told to reverse his opinion.

    • Dhz30

how did he reverse his opinion? his first statement was that, rather than forming his opinions based on race, he chooses to view the facts of each case objectively and draw his conclusions based on those facts. his second statement is that, based on the facts, he feels martin was ‘wronged.’ where is the reversal? this is such a polarizing topic and people are typing the first shit that pops into their head, reacting on emotion rather than THINKING before they speak

      • $36424596

Because the facts state that martin was a piece of shit with a chip on his shoulder. He viciously attacked someone who was attempting to gain information from someone who looked suspicious.
There was no physical contact until martin initiated it. Being the aggressor he gained the upper hand and George Zimmerman feared for his life. trayvon was shot ONCE. The one shot was fired while he was mounting George Zimmerman and just happened to kill his weak ass.
        These are the facts.

      • Dhz30

this is your (clearly unbiased) opinion on the case, but you haven’t answered my question: where is the reversal in Kobe’s opinion based on these two statements? I couldn’t care less about how happy you are that the kid is dead..stick to the subject and leave your emotion out of it

Saddest part of the whole thing was his fat ugly unintelligent girlfriend taking the stand lmfao.

      • Dhz30

yea that’s almost as sad as your life must be if taking cheap shots at dead kids on the internet for attention is how you spend your time ‘lmfao..’ anyway, as i thought, you don’t actually have a point, and are pulling your ‘opinions’ out of your ass “errr kobe changed his opinion, but i’m not intelligent enough to explain how so ill make a completely off the wall, irrelevant statement about a dead kid’s girlfriend being ugly” lol im done with you though man, my apologies for assuming you had the intelligence to defend your own statements

      • Dhz30

and, no, the irony of YOU calling someone unintelligent isn’t lost on me lol

      • eddieknucks

Man get your trolling ass off this site! Whether or not Trayvon was a kid with an attitude is not the issue. The issue is Zimmerman was a grown man whom police told to stop following young blood. Zimmerman was also supposed to be good in martial arts so he couldn’t beat Trayvon ass? Come on! Go in the kitchen, drink a gallon of bleach and shoot yo self.

      • $36424596

It wasn’t police, it was a 911 operator. Huge difference. Maybe George did beat his ass and decided to just wipe him off the Earth. No one will ever know cuz only the mighty George is alive.

It’s obvious you’re a black person pretending to be a racist white person. This tactic doesn’t help your cause. You’re very welcome.

      • Troll_E_G

Y would a black person do this. More propaganda by agents to cause division. Everyone knows whites talk the bigot lingo on ahh to wshh

      • Brick Soulja

You know why, because it’s your other account.

I wasn’t there and Travon wasn’t able to give his side of what happened. However, I’ve seen plenty of disrespectful teenage boys like the ones who attacked the man protecting his nephew. That man would have been well within his rights to shoot those kids.

    • Jayson C Williams

But we aren’t talking about that man. Stick to the above story.

Hey I aint with Satan and his plan to keep us (humans) divided so he can conquer but the fact still remains, an unarmed kid minding his own business got shot and killed. PERIOD! nobody can argue with me on that. I don’t care what facts are presented.

just a comment on the case in general . . . Its pretty annoying how all the celbs and morons are running around ‘protesting’ Florida’s “stand our ground act” when it wasnt even used by the Defense lawyers in this case lol. Zimmerman’s defense was “self defense” and nothing more.

    • SYG was the basis on why Sanford police released him the same night of the shooting. It also emboldens people to provoke situations. The real issue is that Eric Holder needs to press federal charges against Zimmerman for violating Trayvon’s civil rights
