The beauty of this project proves that hip-hop and jazz go hand and hand, which some folks doubt. The show is a funny, innovative, and true musically inspiring experience.

        ??????/

  • MrNoName2K

Which is why hip hop has been down for a while now. People always trying to add different elements and ingredients to the game..

    • Eli Pinilla

That’s what keeps it going….. it’s just about adding the right ingredients. Sugar don’t taste good with chicken, salt does. Jazz is salt to hiphop’s chicken.

      • David Gonz

no. i remember soem HIPHOP VIOLIN dude. comeon bro hip[hop is a certain thing . if you cant do it then stay out.

      • Eli Pinilla

Ummm…hiphop started on DISCO break beats….run dmc and Def Jam mixed it with Rock….The golden era of of the late 80 ‘ and early 90 ‘s is all Funk and Jazz samples…..This album came out in 93. The same month as doggystyle( parlement funk influence) and midnight marauders( jazz and funk influence)….This cover of the album in jazz or with instrumentation goes hand in hand…… I’d rather hear hiphop with jazz and funk influence, then dance and techno influence…..look up the top hiphop song and albums of all times and see where the samples and original instrumentation came from. None if it is hiphop in originality. You make things hiphop, not the other way around….

      • David Gonz

well i like planet rock, which has techno influence. jam on it. electrick kingdom. i like it above all that shitty jazz nyc rap. sorry i just do. liek i said jazz had its time. its over.

      • Eli Pinilla

We can agree to disagree on that one….how about outkast, ghetto boyz, ugk, or big krit?!?! They also use jazz funk and blues…..dr dre Sampled exclusively parlement and jazz on the chronic and shit; the west coast created g funk……I’m not saying that dance and techno don’t work with hiphop. Everything can work with hiphop if you do it right….I just prefer funk and jazz samples over dance and techno….

      • David Gonz

DRE WAS SAMPLING TECHNO 1st. I LOVE FUNK I WASNT TALKING ABOUT FUNK. IM SHITTIN ON JAZZ RIGHT NOW IT WAS OLD WHEN I WAS A KID ALREADY> ROCK N ROLL IS HEADED THAT WAY NOW U SEE A BAREFIIT NIGGA WITH A GUITAR MAKES ME WANNA PUKE. MUSIC HAS CHANGED U EITHER CHANGE WITH IT OR YOUR THAT GUY IN THE JAZZ CLUB LOOKIN LIEK A DOUCHE.

      • Eli Pinilla

I feel u on that….that’s why hiphop is hiphop though….cuz you make that shit relevant if your good……

      • David Gonz

NO, DANCEHALL DOESNT WORK WITH HIPHOP. NEUTHER DOES ELECTRONIC MUSIC. LOOKIT NAS FUCKED UP A DOPE DAMIEN MARLEY ALBUM. HI{HOP IS OLD TOO MY NIGGA!

      • Eli Pinilla

They had a few good songs on there….I think a more versatile rapper could’ve done a Better job on that album. …nah mean and Africa must wake up are good ass songs…Nas just flow how nas flow…damien did his thing on that

      • David Gonz

        nas sucks.

      • David Gonz

thats y vybz had to make that song dancehall hero. cuz he saw damien, elephant, bountykiller, everyone selling out to a hiphop sound.

      • David Gonz

anyways, EL MIGHAELS FIVE already did the wu/jazz album. check them out.

  • David Gonz
