Exclusive: Memphis Bleek – "I've Been Away for 6 Years – I've Got A lot To Talk About"

(AllHipHop News)Rapper Memphis Bleek discussed his new mixtape “The Movement 2,” during an interview with at The WareHouse 305 recording studio in Miami.

After a six-year-hiatus from releasing an official project, Bleek’s new mixtape features 14 new tracks, which the rapper described as “album quality.”

“‘The Movement 2,’ it’s just something I wanted to do,” Memphis Bleek told “It’s been five, six years since I put out an album. I dropped mixtapes in between, but my whole thing was, I wanted to give the people album quality for free. I didn’t want to just rhyme over ‘such and such’s’ beat because it’s hot. I wanted to create something of my own because its hot, and give it to the people. I have been away for six years. I’ve got a lot to talk about.”

    • MrNoName2K

  • MrNoName2K

I fux with Bleek, I wouldnt sleep. Duke nice on them mixtapes

when even ya big homie jay z aint interested in what u got to say, why u bother coming back malik?

  • Inmadopicouroz✓QUEENSᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

    he use to get busy.

  • Terrance

Gotta respect the man’s loyalty tho. If there was anything that would make me give him a shot, it would be that right there. How do you count out a loyal dude? Plus he has skillz… Last time I checked which has been years tho.

  • Eric Cartman

Why do fools always disappear when they fall out of dominant hiphop movements? I’m not a game fan but I respect the fact that he put hundreds of songs after he was fired from g unit. He wouldn’t have worked with dre again if he didn’t remain busy on the mic…

    • Not sure I’d count the Roc or G Unit as a “movement”…

  • I like Bleek, but these rappers take breaks and return like nothing changed…Hip-Hop is very different now, who is the hottest rapper out right now, what’s the hottest rap song on the charts right now, because I don’t have a clue….Hip-Hop needs a make over. It’s time for some brand new faces.

    • rocnation30

thats because u don’t listen to hiphop , it don’t need a makeover it just need people and the radio to stop givin rappers ;like sage the gemini, migos, future, gucci mane, the go ahead because they are terrible period….stop lookin for that hot chart song cause u are gonna end up seeing some wack shit like sage or TYGA, stop asking who hot right now and ask who’s been hot….hiphop is only changing because the youth which is our youth is makin it about sing sony one hit wonders on to the next…thank god for JAY Z, KANYE, RICK ROSS, AND DRAKE

      • Splatter

lost me when you said Rick Ross and Drake…you just said “sing songy” then put Drake name on there. and Rick Ross don’t talk about nothing, just has good beat selection. dude rap at the same exact pace no matter the pace of the beat. Kanye is a certified weirdo and his music shows that amongst his other weird behavior. People just can’t believe that the kanye with the LV backpack and polo sweaters is the same dude today so they keep that kanye memory alive and let him slide on the trash he on now.

      • rocnation30

well tell me your artist…cause those are the only 4 that is actually keeping hiphop alive and not dead…..unless u consider sage the gemini hot,,,or chief keef…. oh yeah and drake can sing all he wants as long as at the end of the day his albums stay consistent all the way thru…every single new artist u name or anyone names either can’t get their album out or they only got 1 or 2 songs on their entire album that i like …as for kanye i could care less about his personality or who he fucks at the end of the day he makes classics …..graduation…remember that album…dark twisted fantasy…remember that album??// oh yeah watch the throne….remember that one ??? I’m done
