Juelz Santana Reportedly In Talks To Sign With YMCMB

(AllHipHop News) The long-time working relationship between Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne is reportedly close to becoming an official partnership. According to VladTV, Santana is in “serious talks” to sign with Wayne’s label Young Money-Cash Money.

Neither party has made any official announcement about the new deal as of yet. If and when Santana joins YMCMB, he will become part of a roster that includes Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Christina Milian, and several other artists.

Wayne and Juelz have teamed together on numerous tracks in the past. The duo has discussed releasing a joint project called I Can’t Feel My Face for years. Santana told Vibe earlier this month that the Young Money boss requested he join him in California.

“Wayne told me to come out to L.A.,” said the original Dipset member. “I’m definitely looking forward to going out there and getting some things done. I don’t know what those things exactly are going to be yet.”

seems like they missed the boat on this one.

    • W.E.B. Du Bois

that’s cuz camron had him screwed up, by being held up, in a contract with him –

      • Breeze

Wasn’t juelz signed to Def jam? Cam and Jim left. . .. He stayed

      • Brooklyn Stoop

        thats what i thought

      • YouKnowNothing

Cam and Jim were NEVER on Def Jam.

      • Breeze

Well rocafella. . . When they left rocafella which technically was a sub of Def jam. . . Juelz stayed with Def jam

      • Product of Da Reagan Era

Actually they were on Koch and then Cam sold Juelz contract to Def Jam. He was already out of the Def Jam deal when that happened.

      • Breeze

Dude they were only like a month or two removed from Def Jam when this happened. You saying like it happened a year later. Fact is when cam and Jim left rocafella/ Def Jam juelz opted to stay with Def Jam. And for the record. . . Any money made on rocafella Def Jam got a cut

      • Product of Da Reagan Era

They left Roc/Def Jam in 2004…His contract got sold to Def Jam in 2005.

      • The_Good_Life

        Dipset rocafella defjam

  • YouKnowNothing

You can’t sign to another label when you are signed to Def Jam!!! What kinda stupid f*ckery is THIS?!?! I HATE this bullshit site!

    • Product of Da Reagan Era

      He may have got dropped.

      • YouKnowNothing

FALSE. You don’t get dropped when you owe money and 4 albums still. You get put on the SHELF. Learn the business.

      • slayboogie

contracts can be bought out…and a contract is a 2 way street…if his lawyers decide that def jam didn’t uphold their part of the agreement (breach of contract) he can walk away

      • YouKnowNothing

LOL you read these blogs too much and you know absolutely nothing about this industry because you’ve simply never worked in it. Contracts are NOT bought out. That’s a myth started on message boards. LMAO. LOL at his lawyers(he doesn’t have any by the away) and you thinking you’re using big legal terms such as “breach of contract”. The fact is he’s still under contract with Def Jam and he will always be until he fulfills his obligations to the label. PERIOD.

      • Nattown

Bro. Recording contracts can be bought out. Labels will often come up with a price, usually an estimated worth from their perspective, and you can purchase. It’s not a myth started by blogs; you’re not making any real sense whatsoever. Since a label cannot force an artist to make music and vice versa, you’re trying to tell me that a business (that’s ran by for the sake of argument, half-witted business men) will not find a way to garner revenue from a shelved artist?

      • DreamBigLiveLarge

        who are u

      • The_Good_Life

        Somebody with feminine tendencies.

      • DreamBigLiveLarge

        true indeed

      • slayboogie

lol @ you thinking “breach of contract” is a big legal term.

if he doesn’t fulfill his obligations to defjam yes he has to stay….but def jam also has obligations to him as an artist and if they dont fulfill their end of the deal that’s called a “breach of contract” and he can legally walk away….. and i don’t know how you think thats a myth to buy a contract out….any music business book out there explains this stuff..i’ve read a bunch

      • Product of Da Reagan Era

Well he’s definitely on the shelf then. Cash Money is signing everybody then can so I don’t find the article hard to believe. I guess they will help him negotiate his way out his contract.

      • YouKnowNothing

You DONT just “negotiate” your way out of a fuckin major label contract. CHRIST! You kids just read these message boards way too fuckin much and think these myths are fact when they are not even close to the reality of this BUSINESS.

      • Product of Da Reagan Era

Why not? they not doing nothing with Juelz… They need to sell his contract for whatever they can and write off any losses.

      • YouKnowNothing

LOL at write off losses! THat’s NOT how it works!! That’s a fuckin MYTH. I’m DONE. Don’t talk to me. You don’t got a fuckin clue. You just recite whatever you read in the comments on threads. Bye.

      • The_Good_Life

Dude your ignorant contract are bought and sold all the time. In a buyout. As long as ym is willing to pay jewels debt to the company. Def jam will keep the master to all the music he’d done up until now. Jewels will share publi with def and ym.

      • YouKnowNothing

THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS!!!! You are NOT in this industry so don’t pretend to know the legal in and outs. YOU DONT KNOW. YOU KNOW NOTHING.

      • The_Good_Life

        You ever heard of jadakiss?

      • YouKnowNothing

I sure have and his paperwork is more FUCKED than anyone’s. That’s the WORST possible example you could EVER use. HAHAHAAHA!!!

      • Product of Da Reagan Era

They only reason Juelz is on Def Jam is because they brought his contract out for 2mill.

      • YouKnowNothing

First off, NO THEY DID NOT. Second, it’s “BOUGHT”. Not BROUGHT. Goddamnit! I’m DONE with you uneducated, illiterate, GHETTO SLOBS. Don’t talk to me.

      • The_Good_Life

Any smart person can tell that was AUTO CORRECT.

      • The_Good_Life

He’s ignorant. He ain’t give one fact yet…

      • Product of Da Reagan Era

Exactly!!!! Some people are just trolling for attention.

      • The_Good_Life

Nah jada said it himself. The roc def jam gave him a mill and bought his pub from ruff Ryder interscope. Fif negotiated for mase with puff and jimmy for 2 mill.

      • YouKnowNothing

I’m done. You just regurgitate what you read on blogs and hear in interviews as if they are fact. You’re too stupid to know any better. Good day, sir.

      • Knickfan4life

Well actually you can get dropped and either you give them a shit load of crappy music or they release a “greatest hits” piece of shit. Similar to what happen with prince and Warner brothers fiasco . But in this case Jules santana is not hot commodity they might let him walk for a million dollars and eat the contract.

    • WeakSauce

I see everyone here ran a Label Before huh?

  • SmashBandicoot

He’s too inconsistent.. He could’ve been as big as Wayne right now but he stopped dropping music for so damn long that he fell into obscurity.

    • Hood Oracle

      I always tell people that

  • ItGoesDownINtheDM

    these rappers aint loyal lol

  • Dam, this dude went from trying to run his own label, to trying to sign to a label that is sinking. These rappers spend all their money and turn around looking for another deal. It’s getting tired, who really signs to a label anymore?

  • Obi Won

I’m not a rapper so I don’t see what he sees. But from my point of view it makes me wonder WTF is the point.

  • dee

Santana, Lloyd Banks and Fabolous … I thought would be on top of the Industry by now.
