Smith offers support for both Tip and Mayweather, but also described the situation as a “crab in basket mentality” for black men and added it “looks like hooliganism.” Smith left some of his most critical comments for T.I.’s wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle who suggested Tip was jealous.

“I’m trying to figure out why would the wife go on Twitter and dime out her husband like that? That doesn’t make sense to me,” said Smith. “Even if it were true that is your husband, and he is supposed to take precedent over everybody else. Even if he’s wrong. That’s something you tell in private. You don’t tell the world that he’s wrong.”

  • Really?

TI takes a loss for this one period

  • Fuck boy killer

Nobody is actually talking about T.I. actually breaking his hand by actually hitting Mayweather… Not too many people can say that with all the running away he does in the ring. Although, at the end we are all on the outside trying to look in and don’t know what’s actually going on in this situation.

    • 5% Hov

Because he didnt. He hit his hand on a table.
      FOH

    • Slick Blak

Fkn TI Stan whore…a table messed his hand up FOH son.

    • Sadat

Even if he did get a hit in you better believe it was a sucker punch. I seen a lot of cases where so called tough guys stepped to boxers and got that ass beat. And they all probably thought the same thing. That boxing is totally different from a street fight, which is true. But that boxer, especially a seasoned vet such as Mayweather, is always going to have the advantage. No points for a sucker punch. Square up and may the best man win. No pun entended.

      • Fuck boy killer

The way Mayweather left that Fat Burger… He looked like he took the punch. LOL

      • Faceda59

You crazy square up my ass.Floyd does have the advantage so if I got to go there with him, it won’t be shit fair about it.Throwing chairs, bottles.what ever not to take that L.Bite his ass on throat if I have to.A five min head up fight would have killed T.i.

      • Sadat

Iol. I feel you. Street fighting is different from boxing. Aint no rules. Im just referring to the people that think T.I. can fuk with a boxer like Floyd using straight hands. He’d get beat to a pulp. I still can’t give no props for a sucker punch though.

      • Arrie Mental Woodard

they said TI walked straight up to him… is that still considered a sucka punch?

      • Sadat

If it was unexpected, yes. I guarantee you them niggas aint square up. No way in hell he gets a hit off without getting one in return from a great counter puncher such as Floyd or any boxer.

      • U know five mins in an actual fight is an eternity for an older rapper

    • PorchBoySlim

Guarantee TI hurt his hand on one of those chairs that were thrown.

  • 5% Hov

    WTF????

A day ago nigga was preaching pro-black unity…now he backing TI foolishness…

    • Nah, but he has a point about Tiny!

      • 5% Hov

        He doesn’t/

      • She shouldn’t be airing him out on twitter….none of them should…IMHO.

      • Sadat

        agreed

      • ll3acdafukup

Whoa… misguided respect and loyalty bruh Tip been disrespecting her so its gonna be hard to demand respect and loyalty back, had he been treating her like the Queen she is and deserved TIp wouldn’t have these problems

      • 2 wrongs definitely don’t make it right in this situation.

        ** Speaking of which **

  • dee

Well Stephen A for a wife to do that it shows they have serious problems that they been hiding now its coming out. At the end of the day this shouldnt be a subject on first take more like E news or some sh!t.

    • Raheem Classick

The Situation involved Floyd Mayweather who is A major Sports figure, So yes it should be A topic on the First Take Show.

  • Reblogged this on HUEY mix wit RILEY.

  • Chris

Damn, bruh. All this because she took a picture with the next man? Unbelievable.

    • regalpimp

Had waaay more to do with that…T.I. approached Floyd a couple of months ago in NY like a man and told him, “I know you’re cool with my wife and Shekinah, but my wife hanging out with a single man ain’t a good look. And, I fell that due to the problems we’re having, she’s trying to play us against each other”. This came from FLOYD’S mouth…I respect Tip for coming at Floyd like a man, but instead of Floyd choppin it up on some G shit, he shook Tip’s hand, and went back to the same fuckery…So I don’t blame Tip for what he did…He came respectful the first time, and Floyd kept on…So the second time he wasn’t so nice about it…He got my respect, he’s trying to protect what’s his, regardless of who’s in the way..Boxer or not, I would have done the same thing..

      • On his daughter b day tho….u just asking 4 an ass whoopn..Also some people got problems of their own, maybe Floyd wasn’t tryna hear about another dudes problem or maybe he just didn’t give a fk…check ya broad 1st man cuz ain’t too many ways the conversation can go when tryna check a brother.

      • regalpimp

A random broad???? I’d let Floyd smash and find a new one to replace her just as quick…But my wife??? And we got 15 years and 5 kids together??? Nah..her AND that nigga she with gettin checked…

      • I can kinda feel that but why take it up with the guy? All ya wife had to do was say no, can’t blame a guy for taking the nani if she offering.

      • regalpimp

She is the one instigating it tho…All Floyd had to do was send her ugly ass on her way…But he seems to like the drama he’s a female or somethin…And if anything, he should know how this feels, since Nelly just snatched his chick last month..

      • Naw I was saying tiny is like a random broad to mayweather why should he give a flying fck…u know what I’m saying but I definitely feel u on harris’ part

      • regalpimp

I feel u in that…I had more respect for her than that, she held him down when he was on that bid…

      • Megapsycho84

Real shit you just said. Tip has been earning a lot of nigga’s respect lately. You can’t help but respect what he did. Especially stepping to a “Professional boxer” like that. And like you said: “Boxer or not” that’s his lady and whoever disrespects your lady, will have to deal with you. And to add… I think this situation has opened t.i eyes a bit, and seeing that his lady tiny has been putting him on blast out in public, he might be thinking about a divorce.

      • regalpimp

I would if I was Tip…this was embarrassing on so many levels…Maybe they can reconcile, but the damage may have been done….

  • Brooklyn Stoop

i dont follow basketball or sports like that.

so this is a general open question to those that do.

what was steven A smith stance on the donald sterling situation and was he going in on donald sterling like he was with this situation

    • Dubz

Yes he was going in on Sterling and so was Skip Bayless

      • Brooklyn Stoop

        Oh okay.
i notice how some important topics get silence or people play politics
then non important subjects like this will have some folks screaming loud as hell…..so i was wondering.
