R. Kelly Announces Plan To Drop R&B For Another Genre On Future Album

R. KELLY: I FEEL I CAN DO ANYTHING WHEN IT COMES TO MUSIC BECAUSE I AM MUSIC

(AllHipHop News) The self-proclaimed “Pied Piper of R&B” is looking to jump into another genre of music. R. Kelly announced at Chicago’s 24th Annual Chosen Few Picnic Weekend that he plans to go in a different direction for a future album.

“I’m working on a house album right now, and I want y’all to know, it’s coming,” said Kelly. “Y’all know I love music, and I feel like I can do anything when it comes to music because I am music. Just like y’all.”

Kelly’s last LP was 2013’s Black Panties. He is also working on an album called White Panties. It’s not clear if White Panties will be the house music project.

When speaking about White Panties with V Magazine earlier this year, the singer-songwriter said, “You can expect a whole other level.”

He added, “I always follow what my spirit tells me to do. When I get into the studio I write from my heart. I try to write life and not songs. People live life and when you write life you’re going to mess around and touch somebody’s heart, and they’ll relate to you and what you’re singing about.”
