Hip-Hop Rumors: A New Beef For French Montana?

French Montana is on a roll and he doesn’t seem to be stopping soon. He’s even got the Kardashian to match. However, there may be some beef lurking for him. At least there seems to be some annoyances. Apparently, Royal Flush, the Queens rapper, isn’t so pleased that French jacked his 90’s hit “Worldwide.” French and producer Harry Fraud joined forces on this and other songs with a similar M.O. Yesterday, Royal Flush played at the Lincoln Park Music Festival and he briefly called French Montana out. He didn’t say too much, before he was cut off on stage by Tragedy Khadafi, I was told. But, He definitely called French out though. But this isn’t the first time this has happened, because they have sampled a few 90’s rappers. Remember, Doitall from the Lords of the Underground also had an issue with French using their song “Funky Child.” I think they deaded that lil situation. Anyway, maybe French cares – maybe not. Either way, “I’m A Coke Boy” came out in 2012. I think its time for Royal Flush to drop something new.

For an artist to repeatedly recreate other MC’s songs from the 90’s shows a Lack of creativity. Yes French may be making money but hip hop is supposed to be an art. But Im not a French fan & wont be downloading nor spending a penny on his music so he can continue to do what hes been doing,

    • 1SOFLO1

GTFOH, hip hop was created on sampling.

      • Twonpass

Hip Hop wasnt created on sampling, the music got its sound from sampled tracks.

Hip hop is a culture not a sound or Genre.
        Rap is a genre

Hip Hop = Mc’ing (getting the crowd into it) or Rapping (speaking over a sampled track / original track), Break Dancing, Graffiti Artist, Consciousness, Creativity

      • Immortal

Damn you stole it right from me. The four fundamentals of Hip Hop. Something rap will never have.

      • Twonpass

Never say never my brotha, anything is possible
        see – Great Pyramids………

      • Immortal

True. The Pyramids were lost by the culture that built them (ex Hip Hop), and laid dormant for centuries, almost through two world wars until someone discovered them. When they got in they found mummies of P.E. GM Flash and the Furious five, DJ Premier, Guru, Rakim, and some of the other greats. They also found early Techniques turn tables, but no one knew what they were. They also found hieroglyphs with CMB and MMG, CTE, Dip Set all building these pyramids singing “ohh boy”. That sounds like a romantics dream although historically factual. But That doesn’t mean that the filler in-between time is any good (Rap). Rap would have to damn near have an Ebola outbreak of its own and have someone inject survivors with Hip Hop and for the survivors strap them down into a chair and make them watch early Hip Hop videos, interviews, and a Hip Hop video history class (ala Undercover Brother), before rap will be anywhere near where Hip Hop has left, and is going.

      • Twonpass

        Not going argue there,
        Like the analogy

      • Screwface

You’re taking it out of context. Hip Hop used BREAK BEATS. The drums and certain instruments. Even scratching parts of certain lyrics splicing them together, not ENTIRE SONGS or making renditions plagiarizing and copying the song. You clearly don’t know Hip Hop.

      • El Duderino

sampling music, not biting lyrics you dumbass

    • 5% Hov

“repeatedly recreate other MC’s songs from the 90’s shows a Lack of creativity. ”

No it doesn’t. The fact they arent any good shows the lack of talent.

      • Twonpass

“The fact they aren’t any good shows the lack of talent.”

        Good one………spot on

they should be happy somebody is keeping them revelent.

  • Tre C

    ……………………..

  • Ipullcards

He’s keeping all old ny rappers relevant when he bites! Like there’s ur alley for 15 minutes of resurrected fame! Don’t let it go to waste! Don’t drop a mixtape either!

    • DJ7

How so? These young cats aren’t doing the knowledge for the origins of a track so again, how is jacking someone else’s shit without 1st acknowledging the person’s sh*t you jacked, keeping anybody “relevant”? Your logic is flawed my G

    • Immortal

Please explain how these new rappers are keeping the following relevant by biting…I mean “sampling” them:

      Chuck D and PE

      Rakim

      Nas

2Pac (everyone seems to be the second coming of him)

      Face or the Ghettoboyz
      BDK
      Juice Crew
      Run DMC
      Native Tounges
      and more….
None of the above listed need any new rapper to give them “relevance” being they made Hip Hop relevant. They make ALL new rappers relevant. Know where it came from before you talk about where it is.

      • Universe Sal

Yeah if anything the older cats are making the new guys relevant. And I say new because if ur already a couple albums in by then u already have ur own fan base, but if ur just coming up and u sample someone else then ur just riding their wave. U see, hip hop is like the ocean and these rappers are like surfers! Riding the waves! Like his mentor Max B says: sooo wwaavvyy!!

  • urtelling

If Big was alive, he would sue French from copying his rhymes. French is a true copycat. Copied the south running with Waka. Copied Rick Ross like he is MMG. Copy Big because he is signed to Puffy.

    • Universe Sal

Copied the ying yang twins: HHHEEAAAAUUU!!! Or however it’s spelled?!!!!

      • Nehad Fakhry

Bad bad comparision. Their personalities are nothing I mean nothing alike. Nore is an really wild amped up cat. French is laid back. They rhyme nothing a like. The old nore was really ill and now nore is bringing that bad. If anything French rhymes like some of these wack southern cats like Gucci.

      • Jared

I’m def not talking about lyrics just how they move in the industry. I said “cornier lyrically”

    • Judah Nazayar

war report= french will never have a cd equal to that

      • Jared

I know just how they move in the industry but I said “corny lyrics”

      • The_Good_Life

      • That’s me in the Blue leather V goose, burgandy suede Puma “BASKETS) ** with the curved lines on front, not the str8 ones, #IJS

        Henny Boy Tone in Sheepskin, G-Force’s C.B.S. ( RIP ) in 2 tone A. J.’s & Black leather.

Yeah, I know you laughing at the burgandy…but..

      • Peep Nas rocking the same coat in 1995 with Jay Z & the burgandy color scheme…..10yrs later…..rappers are crooking my hook.

        ( * Peep the burgandy inside? * )

      • 88, on the right in red MC Hammer pants, the night we hung out with Tone Loc in NC, & he met “Funky Cold Medina.”

      • After Big & Pac Died

      • I ain’t saying Nas be crooking my hook, but peep the octagon medallion with the ALLAH symbol iced out on the miami cuban with the matching chunky braclet on some “Operation Chucnk-A-Thon” type ‘chet!

        ( * Red, Black & Green yankee fitted )

      • hoeyuno

Are you 5-percenter? I know its really none of my bizness but ive been kinda infatuated with them lately. .

      • Technically, I’m a 10%’er, but really more like a 7.5%’er, as I grew up with the 5’s…..but as a 10.

      • hoeyuno

Haha…..the only reason I mentioned it cause you wrote ALLAH in all caps like they do…or maybe everyone writes it like that….im not religious and dont plan on being but I sometimes envy folks who can fight their demons and find harmony through their faith ….

      • Heaven is what you make it, Hell is what you go through.
With that being said, it takes more than faith…one has to also take action.

      • hoeyuno

Im doing some work at these run down apartment buildings up in the burbs and I got confronted and chased by a black bear protecting 3 cubs yesterday. … caught myself thinkin “please god dont let me become a faceless muddafukka”…haha..im still shook!! Im back at the same place today and every little sound behind me is makin my heart race…

      • You can’t strap up in the land of tea & crumpets?

      • hoeyuno

You and that tea and crumpet Ish…yea you can…hand guns are a bitch. Like $500 and a 3 day course for a license. ..but ive always had a record so ive never tried to get a legal gun……of course peoples in the country all have rifles and shotguns but in the city mostly police and gangsters have the guns..its not common for a soccer mom to carry a pistol in her purse like there thats for sure…

      • Not here in the land of the thief & home of the slave. Soccer moms carry daily, but if you have a record, you are unprotected…for life.

      • hoeyuno

And its been apart of American culture for ever..there’s too many guns out there not to have one….I read something a while back that said Canada had more guns per capita then the U.S. but thats mostly rifles and ish…the hand gun factor is the biggest difference between Canada and the States though…it changes everything. Im from the poorest neighborhood in Canada(Downtown Eastside, Vancouver) and its fucced up there but you take out the hand gun factor and people dont get killed on the daily.people get stabbed all the time and beat the fucc down but peoples getting shot to death happens maybe once a month

      • Legalize handguns & crime will drop dramatically!

      • hoeyuno

For real? As Intelligent as you are you believe that? Property crime and fist to fist violence goes down but murders become common place..and dont get me wrong I like the idea of having a hand gun in the glove box but replacing evil for evil doesn’t solve shit.

      • You would be surprised how well mannered fools act when they know the Roscoe is around.

Play around / lay around would be the phrase of the day.

Kennesaw, Ga passed a law mandating gun ownership & they have the lowest crime rate in the U.S.

I’m sure Zimmerman would have thought 2x about fuggin with Trayvon if he thought he could have been legally carrying a Mac.

      • hoeyuno

Zimmerman planned that shit. I really believe that. .he wanted to create a situation where he was getting pushed around by a black kid so he could cap him…..

      • Nah, I believe the pushing around part, being a racist bully / prick, etc., or even just an overzealous do gooder, but I think ‘chet just escalated too fast…but he was prepared to cap the Black kid for sure.

      • hoeyuno

Damn!!!! We all guilty of having a pair of those hideous shyt catchers eh!! Haha….you was 2 legit 2 quit..

      • hoeyuno

Thats classic!! Puma suedes my favorite kicks of all time..the burgandys were dope at the time, even the greens had a place…I mean remember the green, purple or red filas!!??

    • ChiVa02

      LMAO!! Yup..

  • Ryan Cole

Flush needs to drop an album. His debut was dope, then he disappeared.

  • IROC

French is one lucky dude cant rap but making a good living at it

This the second time somebody complaining about Harry Fraud & French man his producer gonna end up giving him some bad news . Last time it was Lord’s Of The Underground .

  • TheAfroRican

Royal Flush is ill. His debut album “Ghetto Millionaire” is still on my rotation. Songs like “Moving on Your Weak Productions”, “War”, “Illiodic Shines” and “Iced Down Medallions” are my shit. Queens rappers from the 90s are NO JOKE!

    • hoeyuno

Word is bond dun!!!..for real tho I agree heavily. .

      • TheAfroRican

(Prodigy voice) “Queens n**** don’t play!”

French can be put in the same category as Iggy, Rif Raf and even soldier boy…str8 culture vulture

      Eminem?!?

      • Weedras

What songs did Iggy, Riff Raff, or even soldier boy steal?

      • nothing. but why would we talk about them? lol

    • Breeze

French montana before his debut album. . . ? Nah. He was actually a good artist up until mac and cheese 3. After that he fell off big time

    • READYROCK

He grew up in the hood. He interviewed and documented rappers and street beef for a living. How is he a culture vulture? The whole industry fucks with him.

      • chicagostyl

grew up in the hood? he moved to the US when he was 13 and didnt start speaking good english until he was 15. 5 years later dude has is filming the lives of other people and artists and because the people he was filming were popular his DVDs sold well, then followed that up with a album called Cocaine City after he got cool with some dudes from around his way……you calling that an authentic hiphop story huh? What makes his story so much different than Iggy? the age they got here?

  • Bdot

This non-rappin slobbermouth half-retarded n’ga is just another indication of how low mainstream hip-hop has sank.

    French Montana you Idiot!

  • Reefer Sutherland

The hate for french is strong online yet dude still continues to make money and rock shows. Go figure. French just seems like an easy target when other rappers do the same nobody says shit. He’s down with puff what do you expect, of course they’re gonna re-hash old songs. Selective outrage kills me, get at all rappers doing fraud shit if you’re really gonna call cats out and complain online on some vocal minority shit. Can’t say I’m a fan of any of French’s new shit but his old shit with and without Max b used to go hard… for now all I can expect from him is a few joints to listen to strictly in a club or lounge setting.

  • hoeyuno

Ghetto millionaire was dope.. but what up with tragedy?? Did he cut flush off cause he was talkin ish about french??

  • Reefer Sutherland

    Damn yall deleting comments? smh

  • Arrie Mental Woodard

dam niggas that use sampled music is now getting at cats for having their ish sampled. SMH. Royal Flush is my guy too and a heavy weight in Queens. Im not even a french fan but dam

  • meanygreene

not to get off topic, but I cant stand when I hear chicks say “the 90’s are dead, why do people keep talking about them?”

  • Damany G

Just watched an interview with Flush on Forbezdvd. He said that he liked the song that sampled “World Wide” and said that Chinx Drugz reached out to him about it. So this is not French’s song actually.
Flush made a classic with Ghetto Millionaire!!
