Hip-Hop Rumors: Busta Rhymes’ Swagger Wagon Has People Talking Again!

I almost was going to ask y’all “Fail or Win,” but I didn’t want Busta Rhymes twisting my neck off one day. The latest with the Dungeon Dragon is a bit more controversial than the fiasco at the BET Awards earlier this year. The rapper is apart of a weird Hip-Hop parody called “Swagger Wagon.” The song is somehow trying to redefine the station wagon, mini-van or something.

  • Nemesis_Enforcer

Busta needs an intervention man. For real!

  • ZUBU

I’m not certain what to make of that, I guesss just like SNL skit it’s comedy. Peyton & Eli Manning had a commercial similar I think they were rapping and dressing like so-called rappers as well.

  • Thank u Busta for killing or trying to kill the word SWAG, Hip Hop 4 ever

      • KareemSayeed

I’m stating an obvious fact regarding his decreasing testosterone levels, hence his decision to take part in the video shared in this article. You lil buster

The original “Swagger Wagon” video by Toyota was MUCH better. And what’s up with Busta’s superswole face? Looks like the rest of him laid off the steroids, but the head didn’t get the message.

    • Jonathan Cayol

      Lolol!!!

  • speedy37

Drink a cup of glass busta

  • BrotherMan21

Busta shows what happens when you stop working out… It’s a lifestyle people

  • Sean Power

    busta has bills to pay

  • WhiteBlack

what happened to tht health/gym stint busta?

  • Dhz30

ehh some people saying its like some racist blackface type shit but id like to think its just an innocent parody of rap videos..though when you consider the source, i guess the former is more likely

  • Busta look like a meat hog…He need to take it easy on the steroids.

  • Wetwork510

I think Toyota made a mockery of the hip hop culture and busta is a real coon for participating. This just proves for the right prices even his dignity was for sale. Busta gets the L for this shit!

    • plsDontreply

hiphop used to be anti-corporate america and you was a sell out for being commercial… This website and all the marketing are corporate. we are all selling out just by being here

      • Wetwork510

Yep your right. We’re all brained washed by corporate America

      • Breeze

Its sad. That actually ties in with some thiughts I had the other day. Long around your neighborhood. Only thing owned by someone in the community is a corner store or barber shop (if you live in that type of hood). Everything else is corporate. And theres nothing we can do about it. Snall business gets no love anymore and even if they did. . . A lot of black people are too lazy to own anything

      • Troll_E_G

Stfu …we not lazy, we r oppressed n not given the same opportunities

How’s this different from Michael Jackson’s Pepsi Generation thing or any other entertainer ever making a song for an ad?

The reason why we as fans of hip hop won’t judge those is because we’re used to saying ”oh, pop is commercial shit, we keep it real in rap”. But let’s be real, rap today is just as commercial as any other genre. The difference is that we HAD a tradition of rap being more than just songs for entertainment, but songs with a message, but today those songs and rappers are all but extinct and rap is just as much ”real” as is any other genre of music.

It’s a fun little song, a bit of a parody of rap, Busta got his money and to be honest the song itself sounds better than a lot of ”real” rap that’s out there today.

    • Celz

      Sad but true.. Agree 1000%

  • what

I’m going to say anyone saying that busta is a coon and how hip hop was anti establishment need to get with the times. First off, it was anti establishment because it wasn’t accepted and now that it’s mainstream and makeing people money and giving more opportunities than ever before it’s wrong. Wake up and stop being so narrow minded. Were things supposed to stay the same and people should rap out of basements and left over venues forever. If you’ve ever gone to a concert at a stadium then shut up. Rappers go to the white house and perform at executive balls now, but I guess progress isn’t good enough for some people they would rather watch a culture stay in the same place.

    • johnblacksad

I’m witchu… this is at worst funny… and actually a good look for hip hop getting nods from these brands. Plus at least Busta gettin a check out of it

      • Breeze

Real talk. . . The problem with a lot of black people is they want their culture to be embraced but whenever that happens they get their panties in a bunch. Shit is fuckin sad and kir these white people got better bars than half the industry right now.

      • ghettogov

        What white people

      • johnblacksad

The white people in the commercial… the daddy was kickin some fly rhymes!

    • Weedras

most forget what evolution entails… kudos!

    • Troll_E_G

There is no true progress just more ways to get pimped….u don’t know the business

  • s0rethumb

First Mary J Blige and Burger King and now Bussa Bus and this? “Steebie” Stout smh…Can’t fault Busta he chasin the check no matter what obviously. After Mary singing for chicken this is the weirdest thing I’ve seen an ambassador of hip hop do however I’m sure it is not the last.

  • Triple7_skylakegreat

Lay off the swine buss actually this is life after cash money lol even spliff star ain’t fuckin w this

  • TruthSerum

Being that most of you probably can’t even remember the last time you paid for music I don’t think your in a position to judge how he pays his bills. Do what you gotta do Busta!!!

  • Recordpusher

It’s pretty mush just a reflection of the current state of Hip Hop. This is what the ‘industry’ pushes and supports. Corny rappers and corny songs.

  • SIDE-B RADIO

the mary j commercial is far from different. i don’t see the problem with him doing this it doesn’t take away from what he’s done in hiphop. snoop, queen latifah and ice cube just to name a few have went on and endorsed things this is a parody people need to lighten up. this isn’t the thing that fucked up hiphop and isn’t the state of hiphop. it’s the state of bullshit that’s being promoted the hiphop culture in a whole is still going strong. instead of complaining about what’s being heard on the radio go out and support indie artists and support internet radio.

  • Charismatic eNegro Jef Vinson

Better than most stuff on the radio, and WAY better then the Memphis Bleek shampoo commercial.

    • JimJames29

Fructis flow lol I forgot about that one. If you haven’t seen it check it out on youtube its worth your time.

  • jd

His verse was pretty good though. But I can understand the backlash.

  • RayStantz

It wasn’t disrespectful or whatever, just wack. Worse than Hammer dancing for KFC.. RIP Busta’s careeer

  • El Dogga

    I don’t care about the song….get your money….

The fail is how fat this fool got and the fact he’s got 2 pounds of foundation make-up on!

  • ghettogov

I thought it was mildly entertaining…kinda corny but that was intended…I’m pretty anti establishment and i didn’t see anything wrong with that…at least they let a decent rapper get paid

  • this shit is pretty funny lol.

  • Executive

That family rap better than migos.

  • Rick Voldemort

    This makes total sense.

Anybody who is truly a Busta Rhymes fan has to be at least 30 . 30 year olds are typically PARENTS. i see the connection and the audience they were aiming for.

    busta just getting a check

    • JimJames29

AND they want a non-controversial rapper

  • LoverOfHipHop

I definitely want a Sienna now

  • LoverOfHipHop

Busta Rhymes needs a swagga bike though. He getting a little hefty

    • C.Berry Latina and PROUD

      • LoverOfHipHop

        lmaooooo

  • Tre C

get your check but damn. Since Busta put down the HGH he turned in a blimp. Timbaland too

  • Celz

It was low key disrespectful, but most rappers out are even more disrespectful so what can anyone really say.. Who is keepin it real nowadays?

But the funny thing is the average suburban family will make more money in the long run than one these lame ass “ballin” rappers

    • i’mreloaded!

      Real spit.

  • Pingback: Hip-Hop Rumors: Busta Rhymes’ Swagger Wagon Has People Talking Again! | I Am Mo Better()

    • MADNEWYORKER914

  • Dsunn

free max b!!! every time you hear wavy ‘WAVIEST’

  • Poseidon

I still don’t think that beats Xzibit for Right Guard deodorant, Hammer for KFC & Cash for Gold and Memphis Bleek for Garnier Fructis shampoo lol. M Bleek takes the award for stooping to the lowest lows for a dollar. It’s obvious Jay ain’t picking up anymore.

Smh @ tricks rappers will turn in a financial bind…..

  • i think the dad sounded better on the beat then busta.. lol…
