The Next Eminem? New Massachusetts Emcee Has People Talking!

Token. 17-years old. The Massachusetts phenom is already breaking out with a new video that displays his ridiculous penchant for wordplay. Now, he’s got some heavy hitting A-Listers interested in him, but for now, he’s premiering his latest with Check out Token and give your view on him…some say he’s got next.

How about letting this kid be the first Token instead of the next Em. Besides when Em was at his peek this kid probably wasn’t even born.

    • JerZeBoy

      well said

  • Papi Peligro

Bra metaphors or word play can’t touch EM. He said himself he just rhyming fast next.

  • Savimbi

How much he pay y’all to say all that?

  • Thought Dog

  • bluelight74

It’s happening and the clowns that are supposed to be guarding and nurturing the culture are the main ones giving, no begging for it to be taken by others. Just look at blues, jazz and rock and roll for a glimpse of hiphop’s future.

    • Markus

      So damn true.

    • Banksy

I’m sorry I used to be the ones that would either write or co sign a comment like this but its 2016 and its time for a change. This is B.S. Black people (US) have been bullshitting with our creation for a long time now and we’ve supported that. You mean to tell me Future, Young Thug, Chief Keef and their fans give a damn about the culture? Black people are responsible for our state. Period. Look at how the younger generation looks at the older generation. These young boys have zero respect for rappers that came out in the 90’s let alone rappers from the 80’s. Look at how much respect current white rockers have for past rock singers and now look at Chief Keef dirty neck having ass dissing Dmx and nobody in the game said anything. There’s so many other examples of it. Crying for Hip Hop now is like crying for an ex that you claimed to never give a shit about until she got with another dude. Appreciate what you have before it becomes what you had.

      • bluelight74

Everyone is entitled their opinion. We agree on some things and disagree on others. What you recommended doing is throwing the baby out with the bath water or cutting off your nose to spite your face. Just because some of us are lost doesn’t mean we throw everything away, that’s very counterproductive. I don’t a d@mn what Future or Chief Keef’s fans like, that doesn’t mean that we hand everything over to someone who would love to see us clapped in chains. You said:

“Appreciate what you have before it becomes what you had.”

Mate, that’s exactly what I was saying maybe you should re-read, I’m not sure what you thought my brief post was trying to say.

  • aka BenOfficial!

Nice. White dude sound like Em and got heat.

  • #Mr.Toadman AKA Toastman

    Naw not feelin it

  • Chyze

Token is about right…that one token white dude that got a coo flow soooo all of a sudden we’re supposed 2 be amazed? Next Em…..uh nope. He’s not even on G-Eazy’s level yet. Too much hype…not enough flow.

  • Markus

You can’t have a white MC named Token welcomed into the industry with open arms. Token? Classic hip hop or nothing at all. To hell with new school!

They probably change his name, slow his flow down, get some producers, get the media behind him and Poof, instant cash machine. Birdman rubbing his hands right now.

      • Markus

True. And as it was already said here in this section, nobody’s watching these things and reacting to them. The fans of today take everything in stride as long as they’re getting entertained. Sad state we’re in with today’s music.

  • JerZeBoy

I think he definitely has potential, but he needs another 2-3 years or so. he definitely has flow, and does have substance for a 17yr old, at least I don’t have to hear about Bentleys and dabbin

    • DR.WHO?

True . thank god he ain’t on all those new swag bullshit trends and those gay dances

      • JerZeBoy

  • ApricotNapalm

Em says some incredible sht- That Bad Meets Evil Em/5’9 album goes hard…this guy Will never be on Em’s level.

  • Q.

For 17, dude got skillz. Can’t hate on the kid. Politics will overrate or underrate him regardless.

  • sahn

  • LowCountryBoss

I think the young dude has skill for a 17 year old kid, and if you listen to what he is actually saying, the lyrics, I think he could compete with G-Eazy, Logic, and MGK, but it will be damn near impossible for there to be another white boy with the talent Em has. And who is the big lesbian chick staring in the video?

  • ChiVa02

i thought asher roth was supposed to be next like 5 years ago. anyway, dude gotta drop some more sh*t before anyone anoints him with anything..he might have potential though

  • DrakeDoesn’tWrite

Just get a team behind him and Package him. He doesn’t even need to Write since everyone said it was ok. Since “everyone” uses Ghostwriters. This is the future you all wanted. Get ready for Rap to get as White as RNB in the UK(US soon too. Notice how Robin, The 2 Justins and Adele get played on what used to be our stations? You won’t here real black RNB on their stations though). All hail the new king of Hip Hop Token.

    • Obi Won

  • 2Gees

I think dude is fire. Wordplay, charisma, metaphors, delivery. The flow could use a little work but he is foolish. Anyone hating on him better have some top notch rappers on their playlists. With the right beat selection and support label wise and he will be a problem. Best video or lyrics I heard on this site in a long time.

  • Ibn Mahmood

all that fast rap is whack!

    • Corey Farnham

the 30 second to 35 second mark is for people like you

      • Ibn Mahmood

nah i ain’t rating it, but then again he is only 17, time will tell…

  • DR.WHO?

Ya know what ….give him a few years wait til he’s in his twenties. He is gonna be a problem. Good for a rookie though. At least he ain’t trying to sound like a “drill” rapper or saying “turn up turn up” or using autotune or ACTING AND DRESSING AND DOING EVERYTHING POST MALONE IS DOING . I like this young cat cuz he ain’t EMBARRASSING himself.

Its too early to try & compare him to Em. Let the boy build his own legacy

  • RespectA

He was dope but l’m not sure he should be hanging around with that big black man with those big titties. Was that his bodyguard or something?

    • Brandon Rippz Martin Fpmfp

Thats a female. And another dope emcee from Massachusetts Shalom

    basic rapper

  • LoverOfHipHop

He is kinda Cory Gunz-esque. But he is dope I like his style

  • Vinsanity

Another Slim clone with no substance. Yes he’s got skill but it was all pointless music, nothing I would bump in the ride or anywhere for that matter. I don’t even want to hear it twice.

  • ruvunja

Boy can spit. Stop comparing him to Eminem jus cos he’s white, he’s got his own lane

    Better than Slim Jesus!!!💯✔🔊🔊🔊🔊BRUH

  • water_ur_seeds

He has got skills no doubt, especially for 17yr and some of the lines and metaphors, more so in the first video were clever… But alot of his spitting was just aload of noise and fast lyrics… Every white rapper is compared to Em these days its a joke…

  • Fresh

Skilled but Im tired a lames rhymin. Im jus ol school I guess. Where that Rakim, Cube, Chuck, KRS, Slick Rick, Cool J, Kane flavor at?? Corny lookin mfs is whats in now. Foh.

  • THISIS50

    not feeling it

  • The Wackness Vs Dope

just cause his rapping fast doesn’t make him dope. you can’t call this lyrical miracle the next eminem. I don’t think people who keep comparing white artists to eminem really appreciate just how good eminem was when he first came through. This guy doesn’t have the swag, timing the delivery the content or the wit of eminem early. he can just put words together his shit sounds corny. He needs to go study Nas – illmatic, slim shady Lp, Marshal Mathers Lp, Eminem Show, Till i collapse alone is a how to manual on rap. –

  • єиσ¢н ℓєνι ☪

how many times are we going to hear this flow? He’s str8 trash… No comparison to any decent emcee

  • Guillaume Pilon

    fast acrobat….cadillac

cool buddy you know how to make words rhyme together…..

  • this shit turns into jazz kenny g

  • The Legendary Troll

Only people talking about him is yall

    • Brandon Rippz Martin Fpmfp

      Wrong lol

      • The Legendary Troll

        point made

  • NotTomFromMySpace

All he is doing is rhyming words, sayin alot of nothing lol

  • HanzFuego

Originality is a key component in Hip-Hop, that he lacks… He has technical ability no doubt but there’s no content just spitting for oooh’s and aaah’s.

  • RichFromBX

as far as 17yr olds are concerned, he’s not bad. He needs to hook up with someone who can guide him and teach him how to hone his skills. The last thing this dude needs is a bunch of “yes men” around him…he’ll be finished before he even gets started.

  • Brindle

He’s ok…. You can tell he listens to battle rap with some of the metaphors he uses…But i like Logic more tho. Token needs more substance.

  • Dave Williams

he has skills but I would get tired of all that fast rapping

  • josh

Interesting but don’t compare him to Eminem your setting him up for failure like when people compare basketball players to Jordan, plus the whole fast rap thing gets old fast and if you want to put rhymes together that make sense and say something not just put words together that match. Eminem also has ridiculous story telling.

  • Anthony Mason

Nice flow. He sounds like asher Roth though….

He is no Eminem. There may never be another Eminem. He raised the bar so high it may never be reached. MMLP is one of the best things ever put on a disc and sold….

  • A lot of people hating in here. Don’t be discouraged that you might not ever get this good at rapping. You can still succeed making music not being this good lyrically. Just do you. believe in your own talent and appreciate others talent as well.

  • Kathryn

Stop calling every freakin new rapper who is white “The Next Eminem!” Or if the new rapper is black, the “Black Eminem.” Do you know how many times I have read these same stupid headlines in the past 3 months? There is only ONE Eminem, and that is Marshall Mathers III. Please, come up with something more creative to say.

  • TheCoder

Dope. Not sure this is the song to blow him up but that being said. He got the skills to pay the bills…..Good luck to the kid.

  • Jonathan Hay

this is the guy that his gf put videos out of him pooping his pants like 5 times when he would get drunk?
