Rihanna Debuts At No. 27, Despite RIAA Platinum Status

(AllHipHop News) It appears the RIAA and folks at Billboard don’t agree on how to measure Rihanna’s sales.

The singer will debut in the No. 27 slot on the Billboard 200 chart even though the RIAA has already certified ANTI platinum.

Billboard magazine has reported that ANTI moved 15,896 album equivalent units, including four million streams.

Reports say Samsung paid for the platinum-plus copies of the album as a download code made free to Tidal consumers.

ANTI is presently only available on Tidal and iTunes. Physical copies hit retail on Feb. 5.

these ppl r doing whatever it takes to avoid catching a brick. 5 albums sold will mean platinum next. they will be counting how many people have talked about the album word of mouth as units. a million people mentioned the album on twitter its diamond. then these dumb ass blogs will try shovel that shit to us like “ay clap for em, they diamond in 5 minutes”. Billboard are keeping it real with niggas. no non profit albums. meanwhile adele has sold 8 million real albums shitting on niggas, so now they are trying to change all the rules in a hurry.

Soul music has evolved into trash because the audience doesn’t want substance and quality anymore and the musicians don’t want to make art. Sucks to be a singer not from England.
