Rhymefest Says Kanye West Needs “Counseling”

(AllHipHop News) Rhymefest is a rapper that has worked with Kanye West repeatedly, even helped the fellow Chi-Town rapper with his own writing for songs like “Jesus Walks” and “New Slaves.” That is until last month, when Fest’ quit being Ye’s co-writer, according to Billboard. Yesterday, after fans hit up the “Brand New” rapper on Twitter, Rhymefest explains that he made the decision to stop working with Yeezy because his “mind and spirit wasn’t right.”

Fest’ continues on with his explanation, claiming that Kanye needs to step away from the public for a while.

Although some fans believed Rhymefest’s critical concern for Kanye, some others were a bit skeptical. However, Rhymefest responded in a  humble way.

Along with Rhymefest career writing for Kanye, the rapper also had a brief career as a solo act. However, Fest’ has best worked behind the shadows of the hit songs we all know from West. Kanye has recently been in the spotlight because of his highly anticipated album The Life Of Pablo.

I see Kanye pulling a Cobain soon.

  • He’s doesn’t seem to have been right since his mum’s passing, he’s probably still blaming himself.

I hope he gets all the help he needs.

    • Silent_Partner

Shit happened way before his Moms died. He always seemed to be a bit unhinged and the fame made it worse. For people who haven’t been around people who are clinically crazy, they don’t see this stuff and think it’s a big joke. It reminds me of some of these Vietnam vets that my Pops served with…some of those dudes were wigged out despite being cool people with me.

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

Vietnam left plenty scars, the stories are horrifying.

  • The Legendary Troll

so you wanna stop collecting checks for songs you know will be all over the radio? nah bruh. Idgaf how you feel about dude. money is money. i think he stopped working with you

    • RapItUp

why would he want to stop collecting checks for songs he already helped create?? for work he already put in? that’s probably the stupidest thing I’ve read from you, and that’s saying something

      • The Legendary Troll

        im speaking future tense

If anyone who knows Kanye, it’s Rhymefest. He can say what he wants because he knows him as a person. RF feels that he needs some counseling and it might be true. It’s not about music or money when it comes down to a person mental health. He’s just saying what any true friend would say.

  • Q.

Kanye is like this generation’s version of Quincy Jones. His greatest talent is his ability to bring different lanes of artists together and collaborate. He can get damn-near anybody on the phone and have them in the studio without hesitation. That’s a powerful thing, and he’s helped a lot of artists on his rise to becoming a POP star. The downside to that is now that since everybody wants a piece of his shine, nobody’s going to question the man or tell him NO when he needs to hear it. You can tell Kanye doesn’t have REAL FRIENDS in his circle. Real friends are able to tell each other the truth. Fest is right–the boy needs help. All the glitz and glamour has warped his head. He’s surrounded by yesmen, ass-kissers, and sycophants who just smile at everything he does and say “Yay, Ye! You da man!” He even swapped his REAL family for the Kardashians–the most shallow, talentless, dysfunctional set in Hollywood, a bunch of professional dick-riders, literally.
Kanye needs somebody who can keep him grounded, like on a daily basis, preferably an authentic brotha he can bounce ideas off of and who’ll keep it a buck when he gets off-point. But he needs to humble down first… Charlamagne, as trollish as he is, is probably the only one that told the truth to his face, like, “Bruh, your music fell off, your gear is wack, and you’re an egomaniac…you doin’ extra, man. Tone it down a little bit.” I’m shocked nobody’s told this dude to stop singing yet–he sounded like BOO-BOO on SNL. That Auto-tune sh!t’s been played out since 2008 and he’s still doing it–that sh!t is WACK. His idol Jay even said it, but he didn’t listen to him either! LOL You can’t tell this n!gga nothing…
Kanye’s life is like one big PR stunt, which is what’s keeping him relevant. A lot of Hip-Hop heads don’t even fvck with his music like they used to. He’s very outspoken about bullsh!t and gets away with it, because he still has a large following of idolaters. He goes hard in the wrong direction, and can’t see his own demise on the horizon. He’s like Shakespeare’s Othello. Othello was a powerful Moor whose downfall was brought about by his own ego and hubris, a nobleman who was emotionally manipulated into self-destruction. Kanye is so sensitive and egotistic, that all it would take is the right devil to come along and pull his string (PAUSE) and watch the whole ball of yarn unravel. Amerikkka’s just waiting for the day they can OJ/Tiger Woods/Bill Cosby the n!gga.

  • Papi Peligro

I agree man. Just watching the people around him on Yeezy Season 3 show made me cringe. It was horrible.

    • Anthony Mason

It did for me too. They hated being there. Nobody felt the clothes at all and we’re unimpressed by the music. The album is better than yeezus but not good as everything else…

  • I cosign Rhymefest.

  • TheAfroRican

    Agreed.

  • Dogg Pound

    Stop buying that bs then

  • ursocalledgod

I cannot believe this bullshyt album is ” highly anticipated”. after the garbage this dude has been putting out as of recent, I doubt it.

You have to respect this guy for keeping it real despite missing out on opportunities to work with a star. He is proof money isn’t everything and being with a famous asshole isn’t a necessity for validation.
