Kanye West Blasts “White Publications”, Says ‘TLOP’ Will Never Be For Sale

(AllHipHop News) After firing off about damn near everything over the last few weeks, Kanye West has now turned his attention to “white publications.” Kanye sent out a series of tweets yesterday (February 15) directed at several outlets including Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and the New York Times.

The Chicago performer seemed to take issue with those publications for commenting about his latest work The Life Of Pablo. In one tweet Kanye wrote, “Please don’t comment on black music anymore.” He on went to add that he loves white people, but he doesn’t believe they understand the struggle it took for African Americans to progress after the institution of slavery.

The response to Pitchfork and the New York Times are somewhat surprising, considering both sites gave TLOP favorable reviews. Pitchfork rated the album 9/10, and the review from the Times stated Kanye has “perfected the art of aesthetic and intellectual bricolage.”

West’s tweets also caught some push back from Hip Hop media figures on Twitter. Alvin Aqua Blanco of Hip Hop Wired posted a tweet that called out Kanye for giving those same media outlets he complained about interviews rather than connecting with Hip Hop centered publications. Blanco’s tweet was retweeted by B. Dot of Rap Radar and garnered a “lol” response from XXL Editor-In-Chief Vanessa Satten.

As far as The Life Of Pablo, fans waiting to download the album on iTunes or pick up a physical copy should not expect either of those options to be available, according to Ye. The G.O.O.D. Music boss also tweeted, “My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale… You can only get it on Tidal.”

I really like the new album, but the man is clearly losing his mind. It’s kind of sad to watch.

  • Q.

LOL This fool said “I LOVE LOVE LOVE white people…” and “colored people” SMDH

    One gimmick after the next

  • Abequa234

So he’s into segregation happening again then….

  • Drake’s 3rd best Ghostwriter

The quickest way for Kanye to shut people down would be to put out great music. He’s done it before. I’m not hearing it lately though.

    • Celz

He’s crazy as hell but that new album is flamin.. Period.

  • TheAfroRican

Every time I read Kanye’s unnecessary rants, I think of that “As The Magnolia Turns” skit on the Juvenile’s 400 Degreez album…

  • How you gonna go on Twitter panhandling to Facebook and then diss White folks on some “This is Black music” sh*t? WTF?! Kanye needs a therapist for real. Somebody needs to intervene. Forget thinking about the message he’s sending his own children of mixed heritage, his mother’s death is seriously killing him. I can’t front. I might be a little out of it too if my fame directly contributed to my mother’s death. But he’s being eaten alive by the fame. He needs to get out. Indefinitely. His mental state is becoming scary to witness. Having Farrakhan in one corner, marrying a Kardashian in the other, dreaming of White acceptance with plush fashion adoration, panhandling and revealing financial struggles, having babies all in the middle of this mess…. F*ck! I can’t even diss dude at this point. It’s just scary to watch a dude who had the world by the musical balls, lose it. It kinda reminds me of how I felt when Michael Jackson got eaten alive. The parallels are all there. Let’s hope for a different outcome.

  • stephen

I appreciate his rants….its needed….very much so….and I like what he did with Nike…so many people lay down once they make it……that’s where hiphop dies in my eyes….keep pushing forward…don’t stand for the mediocre shit…..yea kanye may be wrong in some of his rants….but keep pushin……powers that be want u to sleep…….end of day…stand up for yourself no matter what u believe in…..people should take diff perspective on his rants……

    • Dope

It’s not a problem when somebody stands for something. It’s a problem when somebody stands for nothing, and that’s what Kanye is doing. All this trash, if wee took it seriously, is completely inconsistent and absurd. But it’s not even supposed to be taken seriously, it’s just a PR stunt for his album.

      • stephen

A PR stunt I can agree his album comes out and his rants at an all time high…perfect timing right, but the thing is kanye to me atleast isn’t a pop artist where he’s gonna say or do things people like…go the safe route etc….he’s gonna go against the grain stir the pot…I like that…I don’t agree with much…but whats an artist when they play it safe? When u say he stands for nothing.. can you give me examples?

      • Dope

The first thing that pops to mind is his fashion rant. Completely irrelevant for society, and only important to his ego. Then the whole Nike deal rant, his speeches about presidency, most of his political rants and his ”blame white people” rants, when he knows majority of his audience at any concert will be white.
As I said, it’s OK to be different, to stand for something, and Kanye was that guy when he first came into the game, but today he’s not, or at least what he stands for doesn’t have a purpose that goes beyond himself, and he’s inconsistent even in that, it’s like he doesn’t even know what he wants any more.

      • stephen

When you say he doesn’t have a purpose that goes beyond himself…That’s where I think he’sgreatly misunderstood as an artist vs. the people who listen to his music…when he goes on his rants…he’s speaking on behalf of the artist…like what he said in his speech for that award he just got…he’s always gonna speak for the artist.. when he goes at nike….its for the artists who get ripped off by the bigger designers…the artists who get ripped off putting their music on apple…the artist in mind can appreciate it…maybe some wont….but as listeners to his music.. I always hear people take the view or perspective like…”who is he to say that?” or “think like that”. I think its important for him to take those strong stance on issues…he’s really taking the hit…for other artists to refine his raw unpolitically correct rants…and have their message…to go on stage and do what Kendrick lamar did at the grammys (not saying that’s why Kendrick did what he did just making a point) for artists that are at the top…number 1 on billboards…but can maintain having substance in their music and not turn off the listeners…unless he has some personal drama with another person…or artist…his beef is always with the corporations and media…….not saying I agree with all his rants….but I believe he is for the landscape change for the current scene in hiphop…..

    • Celz

There is no different perspective. He’s destroying his power and influence. He’s irritating everyone.

      • stephen

but whats power when u cant say what you feel? You play it safe…go along with the program?

      • Celz

What he feels is not a part of reality. He shouldn’t feel that way to begin with.

      • stephen

    • RapItUp

Stephen I agree completely. I DON’T agree with everything Kanye says lately, like you. But when I see new articles, they are entertaining.. Look at these guys in the comments getting pissed off. The same guys clicking every Kanye article. Probably also clicking the Kim Kardashian articles too. Lol the guy is an entertainer, and I do appreciate his left field ass rants and challenging authority, albeit loopy and weird than a MF. I’m curious to see if TLOP will ever hit Apple. I still purchase music (really only on iTunes) and my collection is pretty vast, also from ripping physical albums, so I don’t stream music at all. But I think tidal gives these guys a nice slice of their own pie. With all the people “contributing” to Kanye’s album, he needs all that scratch back! Lol

      • stephen

haha…yea his rants are entertaining….like yo…wtf is this dude thinking…..but nonetheless I can dig it……I get a lot of stuff from apple too…..imma check tidal one of these days…just been to lazy to do it lol….

      • RapItUp

If I ever stream music, I’d go tidal. I don’t Pandora/Spotify/Nada.. All iPod. Or my oldies station/talk radio in the whip, if not aux-ing it up. But hella though.. Kanye is purely entertainment, his best years are clearly behind him.. Who else is making this rap thing interesting? I’d rather read about Kanye foolish antics than listen to a Drake CD. Straight up

  • WeakSauce

    F Kanye and F Tidal!

  • ChiVa02

Lol..But he wants the same white people to bankroll his fashion line? The College Dropout/Late Registration Kanye is gone. Had high hopes for this album and came away disappointed (again). He’s so far over the map it’s hard to keep track. Oh well.

    • Eli Pinilla

The college dropout/ late registration kanye was Rhymest.

      • Q.

And Fest is still getting Grammys, as of last night.

      • Eli Pinilla

      • ChiVa02

        Yup. Fair point.

  • Black Adam

Lmao he must be on that white girl, close to a nervous breakdown or is just trying to mess with the media and even more so the social media structure. Dude is all over the place with his statements.

  • D_Ably

He still got his panties in a twist over rolling stone outtin his fake ass cover lmao

  • Freedom Fighter

Too much of anything is bad for your health, it’s becoming too much Kanye even for Kanye fans, too much Kanye even for Kanye

    • Freedom Fighter

      Recluse time for Kanye

  • This fella is delusional.

I’m beginning to feel sorry for him.

      • Anthony Mason

It’s not wack…but it is relatively boring and takes no risks…..

It is a monochromatic s***scape with elements of psedo soul…It feels drab , post-apocalyptic and insecurely boastful….

        That describes it..Not wack…

      • Anthony Mason

Oh it’s not to me either. If you read how I described it…it was not flattering….

      • Eli Pinilla

Sounds like he wants to be Charlie Wilson and Daft Punk at the same time….I agree with what u said. It has some good moments, but over all, shit is all over the place.

      • Anthony Mason

Yup. The people around him have oppressed his soul so he caters to Hollywood whites but throws in soul samples where they don’t fit…

His music is a reflection of the dissonance and lack of clarity in his mind. He is not mentally well and if anyone around him saw him as anything but a gravy train….they would stop enabling him and get him serious help…

What is all the money and fame worth if your soul and mind are in bad health?

      • Celz

Nicca I was just listenin to Mausberg and Suga Free on Konnected. West Coast to the fullest. You one dimensional fam.. Kanye be hoemotional most of the time.. But good music is good music..

  • Eli Pinilla

Hit me up on the email and I’ll shoot a link

Kanye is the male Azalea Banks……with talent. He bashes white media but nobody wants their attention more then he does. Nobody complains about them not accepting them more then he does. This dude has fallen a long way moraly. And these sucka ass fans will tell him he’s right smh. Funny he attacks Pitchfork which only gave him a 9 cuz they are “trendy rapper” nut hugers. Disses Rolling Stone yet he made a fake cover he wanted them to use. They ain’t even offer, homie took it on himself to make a cover cuz he wanted to be on the mag. Fool wants 100 Grammys from these white people….

  • josh

Funny thing is pitchfork gave his album it’s best review so far, his own Chicago Newspaper gave it a 2 out of 4

  • DrakeDoesn’tWrite

You married a White woman, nigga. Shut up.

  • jacksjus

I like that he is looking out for Jay-Z and Tidal. Good move.

    • wes mc

Lmao yeah great move that’s why the album has been illegally downloaded more than 500,000 times already.

  • jacksjus

Outside of that Father track this album ain’t poppin.

  • Tyfromthechi

    But kanye not lying tho

  • Markus

This has been a long mental breakdown dude has been experiencing. I notice that he doesn’t have his actual family around him since his mother died. He might want to reach out.

    • ZUBU

Word, Real Talk… He has not been the same since his mom passed. I’m just an average guy but after my mom passed I’ve been considerably different; not weird like Kanye, but I’m not the guy I was before…. IJS………

  • Brindle

    • wes mc

Aw hell naw you ain’t taking Katie dem titties

      • Brindle

bruh, if you give me time to explain, it’s actually a good trade…

  • atlantahiphopshop

I guess they would have liked it more if he blamed himself like Kendrick. See what happens when you REALLY say what you want versus what and how they want you to say it? Doesn’t Kendrick try to say the same thing? Difference is, he is politically correct and accepts some of the blame, softens the blow.

  • Ionithus

Learn to listen to the message and not be so enthused with talking about the person behind it, unless it’s your pimp in the pulpit. Hence he’s right

  • wes mc

Kanye mad as hell right now someone stick a finger in that booty and shut him up
