Are Samsung, Spotify & Google Looking To Buy Tidal?

Rumor has it that companies such as Samsung, Google, and Spotify are looking to buy out Jay Z’s streaming service, Tidal. The NY Post, reports that Samsung has been in talks to acquire the streaming service for a while. Samsung and Jay reportedly have a longstanding business relationship, and the company has been heavily involved in some of Jay Z and other Tidal owners’ musical releases. Sources say Spotify and Google are interested in minority ownership opportunities in the company. Tidal has exclusively released Kanye West’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ and Rihanna’s highly anticipated ‘Anti’ albums, and the company has been said to have reached millions of subscribers. Do you think Tidal can withstand the test of time in regards to how music is consumed?

The whole goal all along was for Tidal to get bought out, hopefully in the $billions since he passed on the Monster headphones (who ended up with Jimmy & Dre and sold it to Apple for $3 billion). For those that thought he was actually trying to take a “stance for artists” or for “black business ownership” nope sorry kids its just another Jigga Flip…He has no choice but to sell unless he gets major investment money because the streaming music business model is not profitable and Tidal will burn to the ground and die. This story is no surprise, hopefully he gets the maximum return for him and his investment group

It would be nice if you linked the article your speaking from instead of making an opinion piece out of it. Jay is trying to cut bait before he losses to much money. The company was worth 250 mill and is now at 150. They are having issues paying royalties on time and hes had to come out of pocket. And the biggest issue imo, is that Jay baught Tidal so the artists could control it and make the majority of the money and not the corps, but now he’s gonna sell it to one of the biggest corps in the world. Jays a smart dude. Im sure it sucks for him that Tidal didnt work out the way he wished. This is also a bunch of rumors though. But i find it funny how people trying to make it seem like Jays coming up when he’s really cutting loss.

If a larger company buys Tidal for a billion, this would be an epic move on Jays part

A billion ain’t enough. Beats got 3.2 and they only had about 5 percent of the number of subcribers Tidal currently has.

The hell yall talkin bout??? Dr sold “Beats” headphones for 3 billion. The service was just a gimme at that point.

      • Psyer

I could point you to dozens of source references to help you see why you have no idea about wtf you’re talking about. I know it wouldn’t do any good though, so I’ll just say, take care of yourself.

You have none lol cuz you don’t know what the hell you talkin bout. Beats by Dre sold for 3 billion. Not the streaming service. The company isn’t even worth that much.

I would sell it, I see it’s popularity going downhill in the future.
