“When I get home, I ain’t even gonna lie, I’ve been thinking about getting into politics and everything because this thing gotta stop. I’m ready to get into social injustice and start protesting,” Shmurda told Revolt. “I’m about to really be getting in tune with [this] because it’s crazy what the system is doing and how it’s not even following its own laws.”

The Brooklyn rhymer has been very outspoken about his treatment since his arrest in December 2014. Shmurda has complained that his constitutional rights are being violated, because the New York District Attorney continues to fight against him getting released on bail.

Shmurda’s bail request was denied for the seventh time in January. The 21-year-old “Hot N*gga” spitter is facing charges for drugs, weapons possession, and conspiracy. He has not been convicted of any crimes but remains locked up at a Westchester County jail. Shmurda has been behind bars for over 430 days.

Detroit Red this fool is not. Can’t give morons who never exhibited any hint of a brain the benefit of the doubt. Sorry ,Bobby. We don’t believe you.

    • Xxplosive 1

So we should just turn our backs on him?

      • Markus

You assume my back wasn’t already turned when he was free. He was conducting himself as an ignorant dude before he got picked up and I doubt he’s seen the error in his ways. All that “I’m a changed man” rhetoric is for the parole board.

      • El_Gringo

what are you doing help the kid????

        Go ahead, I’ll wait.

    • Jason Mazur

I’m not saying hes the next Malcolm or not. Anything is possible. What I would like to address is the fact that he managed to market himself and get himself signed to a record label, make a big chunk of cash which is no small feat despite him getting himself in a heap of hot water. He’s got some sign of intelligence in there.

just another selfish act…none of this was a problem until it happened to you. If you didn’t get locked up you’d still be out here acting a damn fool doing the same shit but because poor little bobby isn’t getting his way now it’s an injustice..

    • Xxplosive 1

      Maybe it’s rehabilitation…

    • RonRico Jones

How is paying more attention to social injustice a selfish act? Sometimes you have to go through some shit to recognize what’s real. The fact remains that the boy has been sitting for more than a year with no trial, no bail, no nothing. He’s had a lot of time to observe and think. Being involved with the system will open your eyes.

      • RichFromBX

he’s talking about it…he ain’t doing shit. When he starts talking about what’s he’s doing now to make that happen, I’ll take him more seriously.

      • RonRico Jones

How do you know what he’s doing or not doing? How do you know how he has or has not at least started to educate himself? You don’t.

    • The Legendary Troll

Sometimes thats what it takes to wake up

      • Two_guns_Billy

I’ll believe it when I see it but we all do dumb stuff as kids that you realize later was stupid..

    • Savimbi

it took Malcom X to get locked up to become who we know him for. Plus he was another lost youth, perhaps this situation was a blessing in disguise. I command him rather than being so pessimistic.

      • RichFromBX

True but, Malcolm started his transformation while locked…this dude is talking about the things he’ll do when he gets out. He’s made no mention of what he’s doing right now, how is he educating himself? Where and with who is he seeking council?

it’s real easy to talk about what you’re going to do but if you ain’t doing shit now to get there, it’s all talk.

Hopefully he gets his chance to go home soon cuz yungin had the streets jumping with his little YouTube video! He young and talented from the hood and he should be given a second chance. You can’t charge a 18 year old kid with conspiracy unless you have strong evidence, you can’t use a song to convict anybody. A peot is an illustrator of their environment and not the culprit. They saw fresh new talent and they just had to stop the kid. He had the jam of the summer without any industry promotion! #Giveituptothekid

  • ursocalledgod

LMAO good luck with that youngin…

  • The Legendary Troll

Actually this would be a good luck for him. Go to school and get a political science and law degree. Use your celebrity to start your own business and make change in the world. The rap world gave you celebrity. Use it to leave your mark

    • All Headz Realize

So you don’t think he can succeed in entertainment industry? He took a beat that one of the coldest rappers of this generation ‘Lloyd Banks’, used and turned it into a bigger hit than Banks could have ever imagined off that beat! That’s when they say “He killed that beat, son”! The dude got a future if he’s released soon enough to take advantage of his momentum.

      • I guess Dudes’ comment went right over your head.

      • All Headz Realize

I guess my comment went right over your head! He’s already a successful entertainer and he want to continue making music, then broaden his craft and go into acting, then politics. You you’re not noticing is troll basically overlooking his future as a musician. I’m just saying the opportunity is still there for him. You’re saying for to give it up. I think you’re jumping into conclusion because he’s still a celebrity with a huge fan base that’s waiting for more music. I’m old school and not the biggest fan but my question is why are you counting him out of the industry? Use your celebrity status for something else is what we say to has beens not someone that is still young and in their prime. #getthepoint Carlos!

      • Never said to count him out and I believe dude didn’t either. We all agree that he has reached a level of celebrity status. In his case case he needs to have a plan B. Take advantage of the situation he’s in right now and go to school. He’s been in the Pokey for well over a year, might as well use that time to better himself.. And who knows he might not want to go back to music because of some his words, pertaining to his music, got him to where he’s at now.

      • All Headz Realize

How you know if he’s not taking classes already tho.

      • “The dude got a future if he’s released soon enough to take advantage of his momentum.”

If “IF” was a 15 of Henny, we would all be drunk!

      • All Headz Realize

He had the jam of summer 2014.

      • A true 1 hit wonder?

    • In what? 2057 AD?

  • WORLD DOMINATOR

Nicca PLEAZE!!!!!!!!!! Everybody ‘finds God’ & ‘wants to get into politics’ in Prison…… should of used YOUR BRAIN when you were a Free Man, & you wouldn’t be set to do about 30+ years! You won’t be gettin’ out ANYTIME soon, so start educating yourself NOW!

    • Two_guns_Billy

Every dude in my old neighborhood found god when locked up but within a week was back to doing the same sh%t…

      • What other options did they have?

      • Two_guns_Billy

I don’t know but you can’t find that out in a week..

      • But you can get re arrested in a week.

    • All Headz Realize

Why you hating tho? How you gonna assume he guilty anyways? Man, you gotta be from the suburbs! And I can tell you ain’t never been locked up talking that bull. In jail or prison, it’s a natural thing to get closer to God because you’re locked up and evaluating your life over. Yeah, some see the light after freedom and others go back to doing the same thing. How are you going to assume that this talented young man who’s been successful as an entertainer, won’t continue on the right path like he said he is? #whyyouhatingfam

      • His mentality that got him in that position.

He needs to push for a speedy trial. Fucc giving them time to get their ducks in a row..

  • You need to get educated and in a certain position before you can even contemplate making a change. It would also take years and you completely leaving the gang life behind. Then, it’s still a major maybe

  • Q.

We can hope. Better than buckdancing on a boardroom table.

  • There might not be any social injustice anymore when he gets out…if he ever does.

  • Dat Dude

Dude trying to get public sympathy. This is Defense Attorney 101.

    • OG Andy Griffith

      And…you’d do the same

      • Dat Dude

I wouldn’t be in the situation in the first place.

  • Anthony Mason

He coon danced for execs and they decided he was not going to meet their goals for them….

It’s one of those things. Just because an employer hires you for a job, it not mean they will keep you I’d your long term value diminishes. He is a kid who has a lot to learn….
