Did Royce Da 5’9″ Send Subliminal Shots At Tyler The Creator, Kevin Gates & J. Cole On “Dead President Heads”? (AUDIO)

(AllHipHop News) Royce Da 5’9″ is about to let loose his next project Layers on April 15th. Before the album arrives in stores and online, the Detroit emcee dropped the track “Dead President Heads.” The cut has some rap fans questioning if certain lines were directed at Tyler The Creator and Kevin Gates.

At one point Royce spits, “N*ggas diss Marshall after they copy his whole reference. Like we won’t send an actual firing squad to they studio.”

Back in 2014, Tyler blasted the Marshall “Eminem” Mathers executive produced compilation album Shady XV. The Odd Future founding member wrote on Twitter (then deleted), “i love you marshall, you are my favorite rapper but dude shadyxv is f**ing ASS hahaha why wont someone who loves him tell him NO.”

Another line from “Dead President Heads” appears to be a response to Kevin Gates criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement. In a recent interview, the Louisiana rhymer stated “all lives matter,” and he suggested police brutality is the result of the victims acting like a “n*gger.”

Royce raps, “Blacks never had each other’s back. Rappers saying ‘all lives matter.’ Okay, now we actually spineless.”

Layers is available for pre-order on iTunes.

UPDATE:

Some observers have pointed out the “they copy his whole reference” line could have been aimed at Tyler since people have implied he is heavily influenced by Eminem. While the “firing squad” bar is likely a response to J. Cole rapping about Em on his 2014 Forest Hills Drive track “Fire Squad.”

Royce debuted “Dead President Heads” during an appearance on Sway In The Morning. Watch the interview below.

Kevin Gates is a traitor to his own race. You’re NEVER supposed to suggest even for a second that if a police shooting victim had cooperated they’d still be alive. That’s something white people say. If you’re black you don’t have to listen to a damn thing these crakkka police telling you. Just be as loud and belligerent as possible. What kind of Uncle Tom is this guy ?

    • Tmike30

Blacks kill black is you for real

    • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

      Dude ain’t wrap tight.

    • RazaBladeKing

Still at it I see; let me correct you once again. Kevin Gates is a traitor to his race because he’s been given a worldwide platform through celebrity and has used it to celebrate incest, crime, and violence against women. In this particular instance, he’s a traitor to his race for two reasons: 1) because he uses “all lives matter” in response to a conversation about “black lives matter”, as if the movement suggests “[only] black lives matter” when it clearly suggests “black lives matter [too]”; and 2) because he suggests that victims (remember that word) are at fault for police brutality against them, despite dozens and dozens (and dozens) of instances of victims breaking no laws and still being victims of said brutality, let alone breaking laws that are punishable by death. A 12 yr old playing with a toy gun isn’t acting “loud and belligerent”, nor has he done anything to “deserve” being shot up by trained grown men. Of course, only an idiot would think that police only brutalize people that “deserve it” in the face of all of the episodes to the contrary. And you’re no idiot, right?

      • Drake’s 3rd best Ghostwriter

I’d bet at least 75% of those deaths could have been avoided by just sitting still and shutting the f*ck up. Not talking about Tamir Rice. Not talking about Oscar Grant. Not talking about Laquan McDonald. Not talking about Walter Scott. Those people were murdered. I’m talking about people like Michael Brown or Eric Garner who didn’t deserve to die but at the same time would still be here if they just shut up for a minute or two.

      • RazaBladeKing

I have no doubt that YOU would bet 75% of those deaths were avoidable. Just like I have no doubt that you would neglect that police have been killing black people (specifically) unprovoked and unjustifiably for centuries, before camera phones made it obvious, and before Hip Hop culture provided a scapegoat. Police brutality against blacks has existed in this country for as long as there have been police and black people. And yet, Cliven Bundy, the Aurora shooter, and countless others have been arrested (while armed) without conflict. Strange coincidence, right? The good news is the guy with the face tats that brags about having sex with his cousin and his dog agrees with you.

      • Drake’s 3rd best Ghostwriter

I don’t agree with everything he says or does but he’s a very positive influence overall. His work ethic is crazy. Homeboy has 6 f*cking jobs and he’s making it look cool to work for what you want in life.

      • RazaBladeKing

I can’t even tell if you’re bein serious with that one. I’ll buy that last phrase only (working for what you want in life), but other than that, this dude is a dummy that’s too dumb to realize he’s not actually smart, and he is one of the more toxic personalities on the public stage. Kicking teenage girls in the chest and then making songs about it to justify it is very not positive. Side note, you said some real sh*t about Kanye shutting up the other day and I wanted to dap you up for it, but I knew it wouldn’t be long before you’d get back into your bag… and here we are. Stick to talking about music. You are woefully unprepared to discuss race-related issues here, and that goes double if you think Gates is an overall positive influence for anyone on anything.

      • In Black America Radio

“…. Kevin Gates is a traitor to his race because he’s been given a worldwide platform through celebrity and has used it to celebrate incest, crime, and violence against women.”

he have to use his freedom to promote that………….if not then he gonna be in jail.

      • Q.

Don’t waste too many keystrokes, bro. Trolling is his life’s purpose…He’s in looove with the cocoa. LOL

      • RazaBladeKing

I can dig it, believe me, but I feel like if I let his horses*** stay up on these boards unchallenged, the people that lurk but don’t sign it (which outnumber us by the thousands) might start to think he has a point. Crazy as this sounds, AHH is the biggest hip hop site on the web, by the numbers… they get more hits than World Star, Bossip, HNHH, or anybody else. His kinda poison can spread really really fast if it sits there without gettin shut down.

      • Q.

I hear you, bro. The truth is always welcome. The shield complements the sword. Only the simple-minded will swallow his passive-aggressive white supremacist horsesh!t.

      • Drake’s 3rd best Ghostwriter

Not spreading poison at all. I do wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much to get my point across sometimes, I admit that. But my point is at least some of these police shootings could be avoided by just cooperating. I don’t like police but if I get stopped, I cooperate. It sucks but there’s no other way and it just may save your life. I’m not trying to poison the world. I don’t have a secret agenda. I’m not evil, and it’s not even like I completely disagree with you. I support BlackLivesMatter. But I can’t pretend that Michael Brown didn’t rob a store and reach for a police officers gun after refusing to move out of the street or that people didn’t lie and say he had his hands up. I can’t do that.

      • RazaBladeKing

Then let’s leave it at this, and I’ll leave you be. Obviously [some] police shootings are… “justifiable”, but this is a country that supposedly has a system of justice where police [arrest], prosecutors [charge], and a jury [convicts] people for their crimes. So in a perfect world, the police shouldn’t kill anybody, cuz they haven’t really been charged or proven guilty of anything yet. This ain’t North Korea. Having said that, if a goon has his gun to some old lady’s head, we’d all agree that the cops should blow the goon’s brains out. Very few cry when thugs get shot by cops, and rightfully so; that’s part of the s*** thugs signed up for. The problem that you’ll never understand (at this rate, at least) is that for [us], cooperating doesn’t guarantee a damn thing, and even leading law-abiding lives doesn’t guarantee a damn thing, cuz if a cop wants to kill us, they can and will, and they know they’ll most likely get away with it even if we didn’t do anything illegal, because we’ll always be painted with the same broad strokes as the actual criminals, and that “jury of our peers” will determine “we deserved it.” It’s centuries old, and there’s too many incidents to back up that belief. Italians for example are stereotyped as havin mob ties, but they don’t have a long-standing history of bein shot up by police (and police gettin away with it, if they’re even charged at all)… the difference is obvious to anybody who wants to be honest about it. So you’ll never have to know the feeling every time a cop pulls behind you in traffic that your life may be over in a matter of seconds for no reason, and you’ll be blamed for it… that’s a privilege I don’t fault white people for [in fact, it’s a privilege the system uses to divide the masses and keep us controllable], but it taints your advice since you’ll never have to walk in these shoes.
