Hudson Mohawke Threatens To Leak Kanye West & Drake Tracks, Blasts Mainstream Rappers

(AllHipHop News) Hudson Mohawke seems to be upset that a couple of high-profiled rappers have not properly acknowledged him for his production work. The Scotland-born beat maker called out Kanye West and Drake by name on Twitter.

“Literally about to release zip of Kanye and Drake songs I’ve done that I got [zero] for,” wrote Mohawke. That particular tweet was later deleted.

He added, “Mannn so tired of making careers for people who take my work and add 1 hi hat and take all the credit…exhausting sh*t.”

When a Twitter user suggested Mohawke was afraid to anonymously leak a folder of Drake and Kanye tracks, the producer replied, “No I don’t have the [$10 million] to deal with the consequences mainly.”

Mohawke has worked with Kanye on songs such as “Mercy”, “To the World”, “Famous”,  “Waves”, and “FML”. His production discography also includes Drake’s “Connect”.

  • Doug you niggas funny

Just like they are ghost writers you have ghost producers as well. Only thing ppl like Kanye take full credit for something they have minimal input on I feel Hudson mohawk never heard of him but it’s a lot o producers behind the scenes that this happened too

    • TheAfroRican

I’ve heard of him from the ‘Blood on the Leaves’ track. Dude was given production credit for the beat, even though it was a sample from one of his own songs from the group he is in.

    • RichFromBX

Only difference is that ghost writers are contracted to remain ghost however, it doesn’t seem like that’s the case here otherwise he’d be in positioning himself to be sued

  • TheAfroRican

In the last couple albums, Kanye usually have five or more producers working on each track. I guess he forgot to mention one.

  • All Headz Realize

The only really dope producer/MC in HipHop with lastname of WEST is the legendary true B-Boy from The Boogie Down Bronx name JESSE WEST aka THIRD EYE. That weak stuff kangay doing ain’t no real HipHop, son!
    P.S. Do your homework, kid!

    • EniggaMA

      • All Headz Realize

      • EniggaMA

pretty sure thats him. only third eye i know. he was on parish smith album

      • All Headz Realize

He did the beat for that Supercat remix with Biggie and Puff on it. The”Dolly my baby” joint! Yeah, that’s Jesse West rapping aka Third Eye!

      • EniggaMA

Shut the f*ck up white boy. You stole an entire culture. We can take whatever we want from you anytime. Learn to deal with it. It’s our turn now.

    • WeakSauce

The stupidity in this comment is beyond anything else I seen on here lol

    • JokeznSmoke

      RIGHT ON!!!hahahahahahahaha

    • Opposite Of Everyone

how can he have stolen a culture if the people who created it still have it?

    • cza jones

Such hatred. I know where you’re coming from, but that’s a very dangerous mentality. That’s another issue altogether though.

Bottom line Is if man doesn’t acknowledge man, its an issue. He may or may not be warranted to make such claims. Not enough information.

  • Fat Pocket

I’ve known kanye since 2001. No I.D. showed kanye how to sample. kanye made a few nice joints. We use play n listen each other beats over the phone. but Hip Hop put kanye on..and Damon Dash. Once you get a certain status that need for not making beats anymore comes around. So I guess he has another source for other producers but takes the credit.

    • Celz

One of my boys produces for Shady he gets paid pretty decent though. But yea they remix his beats and put someone else’s name on it too..

  • jeweliano

Diddy reading this laughing like,”I’ve been doing this since the 90’s!!” Lol

  • Savimbi

  • ytgarner

Welcome to the music industry bro get ur money and go home. And if they never used the songs why should they pay u??

    • Chyze

They don’t understand that tho. I can’t get royalties on something that was never released for commercial consumption. If all they changed was one high hat then he would’ve sued and won. Producers have been losing those suits 4 years. Kanye and Pharrell included.

  • Ipullcards

Fux you white boy! They love our culture so much, then they can be a slave to it! They all want the fame and money but don’t respect where it comes from. Fux em. Been stealing our sound (stole rock n roll), style, moves since Ray Charles, Lil Richard, James brown. Etc. he’ll live

    • Drake’s 3rd best Ghostwriter

      Yeah. F*ck that honky !!!

    • kanye is using that white boys beat and passing them off as his own. you should be saying fux kanye.

oh and hiphop can be white peoples culture. you need to get woke.

and by the way rock and roll wasnt stolen, it gained a following, new artists created their own songs they didnt steal ray charles songs. they made their own. get a clue

  • fitgameent

Funny how things change so quickly. Kanye was the man , a genius, blah, blah, 3 albums ago. Now everybody hate him. Seriously though, this mohawke dude came out with that bs at the right time because cats ‘don’t like kanye and drake’ now for whatever reason. But answer me this, who honestly knew who this fool was yesterday? While I’m not a huge fan, kanye has been making hits for 15 years. Drake been doing his thing too. Funny thing is, if kanye would’ve came out claiming credit for something he had little to do with, he’d be called an egomaniac……

    • PeoplePlease7

Quite a few people did including Kanye west but if you only listen to pop, trap, etc. music you obviouslu would not know. Mohawkes got some beats, been at it quite awhile…

    • has kanye been making hits for 15 years? now all that is up for debate.

knowing who this guy isnt the point, if theres one of him, logically theres many more

  • Dark Matters

I can’t recall the number of knuckleheads I’ve argued with online about Kanye’s counterfeit genius. The only thing Kanye has is ambition, hard work ethic and maniacal levels of narcissism. Two of those qualities are great qualities to have, but this guy’s career is literally built on other people’s talent. He’s a wanna be Pharrell.

    • PeoplePlease7

Agreed, ghost writers, guest writers, ghost/guest producers, etc.. Pharrell is guilty to (ripped off Peven Everett, video concepts)….

“Hudson Mohawke seems to be upset that a couple of high-profiled rappers
have not properly acknowledged him for his production work.” This sentence makes it seem like they are acknowledging him but not the way that he specifically wants them to. Did he get paid? Did he get any production credits at all? If so, then stop complaining. If not then release the songs and stop whining. How about you just say no next time.

  • Cry baby sh*t. If you’re getting paper, shut up, let the lawyers speak and go on to the next project. Low budget cats spend too much time in the clubs and not enough time on their biz. Any dude crying on social media is a b*tch. Real businessman let the lawyers do their job.

    • lets be honest anye a bitch for acting like he produce his own shit

      • If we’re talking in the present tense, I’d “partly” agree with you. As omnipotent as you may want to be, neither of us is in the studio so we just don’t know. That being said, Kanye holds over 50% of Jay Z’s success in his producer vault. He’s given hip hop not only his own personal classics but let’s not forget what he did for 2 Common albums (who incidentally sounds like stir fried sh*t since Kanye stopped making the beats), Jay Z (who now also sounds like a bucket of sh*t without Kanye behind the beats), and numerous other artists. So for your comment you get a 25% on truth and a 75% on bullsh*t. Sorry homie.

      • everything kanye ever did is now up in the air. its sad people these guys just cant actually produce/write their art on their own.

  • question. did he get paid? if he got paid does he just want credit? if he got paid i say stfu and just cash your checks.

Sounds personal, son should know the game/ sun should know the fame, comes with the bittersweet touch like we holdin flame/ babies speak the God language then we gotta know they names/ that’s when we slowly degenerate divinity, label it growing pains/ stay away from the “trap”, cause it’s exactly that/ anti-commissary rap keep me locked in Haile Selassie hats/ sometimes I feel that, you can line up everybody who battle rap/ put em all on one side and watch my ego handle that/ Beyonder style, Secret Wars/ beyond a mile, we can war/ them Fonda files, Black Panther power to the people dawg/ had a dream my homies that passed was all doing good/ they said all that information you seek is really no good/ confused, I asked why not, I’m truly learning everyday/ they replied that everything is already inside anyway……..
