Nore: Micheal Jordan Hates Rap Music

I know this is gonna cause some of you to cry and others to throw away your Jordans (sike), but Michael Jordan hates rap music. Stories like this have been told over and over and over. And there are more. Nore is the latest to tell about it. Nore says that he was in shooting a video for “Oh No” and there was a shot at a Roy Jone, Jr. fight that had MJ in the audience. Jordan refused to let them use his likeness in the video. But, there’s more. In an interview, Nore says straight up: “Jordan is a hater of Hip-Hop.” There were several rappers at the shoot, but Jay Z is the only one that Jordan would speak to.

“I seen him shut Redman down at a Def Jam Christmas party,” he said. “We were all sitting there waiting to speak to Michael Jordan. n*ggas said, ‘Yo, Redman and Method Man is here.’ [MJ] said, ‘fu*k rap.’ I seen the n*gga say that…Quote me. I believe it was Redman and Method Man, and I’m to the side, so I can directly hear his voice. He was like, ‘fu*k rap.’ That sh*t hurt me. Def Jam Christmas party, Mariah Carey hosting and sh*t like that. He only spoke to Hov, but he spoke to Hov. That’s without a doubt.”

Ya’ll still wanna rock them Jordans?

Who cares he’s not a fan of rap, and if I was Jordan and I was out at a thing for fun id be sick of people wanting to come up and talk to me the whole time too. As for using his image in a music video that would definitely boost their video and they’d use it and everyone knows that MJ doesn’t do anything for free what so ever

    • TRUTH SPEAKER

But then if someone like Tommy HIllfiger says he hates rap or hiphop everyone wants to call for a boycott. Hypocrites.

Jordan has always been a cornball to me anyway. When he wore those Jeans with his shirt tucked in them it confirmed what I already knew. He’s definitely a square. At the end of the day HE DOES NOT HAVEto TO LIKE RAP. I enjoyed this opportunity to take shots lol

  • WeakSauce

So the Goat doesn’t like rap? Who gives a flying F!!!!

    • Dark Matters

    • HatingWhitePeopleSince85

F*ck You Mean?? Nah he can listen to whatever music he wants HOWEVER at least pay homage and be respectful to the Culture that helped push you to a billion! that’s the issue!

  • aka BenOfficial!

M.J. and Kobe been assholes. I don’t support his Jordans like that.

  • canadian_mister

hates rap, but lets miley cyrus do that sh*t 23 song? god dammit jordan…

  • TheAfroRican

Jordan hates rap, but loves that rappers endorse his shoes smh….

  • ZUBU

I know Nore is entitled to his opinion, and he had his own personal experience. Yet Jordan is from a different era, he probably does not like the imagery that Nore, the Wu, etc. project. As far as the video goes Jordan probably didn’t want his imagery used in that light, it could be bad for business in regard to Madison Ave. Jordan is not and has never been Allen Iverson in regard to hip hop style, fashion, etc. Jordan jumped on his grown style wise early in the game. Hov jumped on his fairly as far as hip hop goes. Jordan probably respects Hov as a boss and a business man. I think Jordan distanced himself from the hood in the late 80’s early 90’s when kids were getting killed for his shoes. It was bad for business to be aligned with hood shiitt. I think Jordan would holla at Russell Simmons, but I doubt he would holla at Birdman from Cash Money.
    —————————-
In my opinion I don’t think he dislikes hip hop just some of the elements associated with it. Years ago people were critical of Jordan because he wouldn’t endorse a certain candidate, Jordan wouldn’t take a stance because he didn’t want to offend any potential customers.

To Quote Nino Brown: “IT’S ALWAYS BUSINESS ‘B’ NEVER PERSONAL.”

      thats a good angle zubu

      • ZUBU

Real talk bro that is what Mike has done. He has protected his image and his brand, so that he can get that paper… Anybody who thinks that Mike is not a real brotha…. Hmm I don’t know Mike never met him… I have met some people who have, including an ex-teammate…. Mike is as hard and as real as any brotha on the streets… Talk as much shiitt as any of us…. Somebody on this page called Mike a Cornball… He got the game twisted…. SMH

would this be news if Larry Bird or John Stockton hated rap? Why is there this expectation that because he’s black, he’s suppose to love hip hop?

    • Dan Tebasco

      You got a point there

    • yomomma

because hip hop loves mj or maybe because hes black

    • Knickfan4life

Because people in hip hop buy his ugly sneakers and you should have a level of respect for idiots that make you rich Jordan has a huge ego and is known to be a prick.

      • RichFromBX

Basketball made Jordan rich, being the greatest ever to play the game made Jordan rich…if you decide that you want to go out and buy a pair of sneakers he endorses, that’s on you…he don’t owe you anything for that.

I just don’t understand the whole “I bought this, now you owe me something”

I own an iPhone, if I’m having dinner one night and Tim Cook is in the same restaurant – should I expect him to take time out of his dinner, have a conversation with me and take a picture? Sure, maybe it’s the first time in months he’s been able to take a minute for himself but I own an iPhone so he owes me at least that, right?

      • Knickfan4life

Basketball made Jordan 95 million Nike made Jordan 900 million do the math he was marketed to black people as a god yes you do owe when people make you.

      • RichFromBX

you need to get over yourself…no one owes you anything beyond the product you received after you handed your cash over to the cashier… but again, if Jordan doesn’t play basketball at the level he did, there is no Nike deal, there is no Jordan brand…you do the math, better yet, here it is for you:

Jordan+basketball+being the greatest = his fortune

take 1 thing out of that equation and he has nothing…no Jordan = nothing, no basketball = nothing, being an average player = nothing

boo hoo, he doesn’t like hip hop…if people allowed themselves to be herded towards a false god, that’s there fault and you get everything you deserve.

I have way more respect for someone who’s honest and unapologetic about who there are then the person who throws up fake smiles and fakes being humbled by the support of their fans…athletes and celebrities bleed like I bleed, just because you can dunk a basketball or sing doesn’t mean I’m going to hold you to a different standard or expectations than the guy next to me on the train.

did you ever think for one minute that maybe Jordan doesn’t like rap because, at times, it glorifies the violence the resulted in his father being killed? you got cats on songs bragging about jackin’ cars and how quick they are to put a bullet in someone who resists…maybe, just maybe, that type of shit strikes a nerve with him…

      • Knickfan4life

Yes they do and I suggest YOU get over yourself Black people made Michael Jordan and we can break him if we want.

      • RichFromBX

hahahaha….good luck with that. Black people can break MJ, I’m going to laugh at that one for a while

      • Knickfan4life

you do not know economics and protest I am sure they were having a good chuckle during the Montgomery bus boycott until they started losing millions. I am sure the los angeles dodgers got a good chuckle when Al campanis said “blacks cannot swim” you have to know your audience when you say foolishness like that. Jordan knows it is enough “sheep” that will keep buying his shoes but a lot are getting hip to his bs.

      • RichFromBX

you’re comparing MJ not liking hip hop and not caring about meeting Meth and Red to Montgomery? Are you seriously seeing a correlation between the two, enough so that people will take equal action and stage a protest?

But, since we’re not talking about all black people and only those who have wrongly decided that hip hop = all black people, let’s take a look at other success boycotts driven by hip hop…Jay Z’s call to boycott Cristal – the economic suffering that Louis Roederer has gone through nearly bankrupted them…wait, no it didn’t. In fact, the company thrived and still continues to thrive.

Let me break it down for you…black people protest real issues that impact lives. hip hop takes offensive on a material level and therefore impacts nothing.

Go ahead, start you’re anti-Jordan campaign on the basis he snubbed Meth, Red and Chamillionaire…let’s see if anyone even notices…

      • Knickfan4life

I personally do not wear jordans but we know what will happen if we wake up and decide to stop wearing nikes what you have to understand is certain cultures make things hip which means the bottom line is $$$$$$. Black people made madden , Jordan and ciroc millions . if Jordan said something “Publicly” stupid watch how quick his net worth drops similar to crystal sales. Power of the Dollar bruh.

      • Don’t forget private prisons.

    • Nah, but if you at a Def Jam party…….

      • RichFromBX

I can see that, seems like a dick move to snub meeting Def Jam artists while at a Def Jam party but, in business, you end up at in all types of situations like that. Politically, you have to do these types of events…while def a dick move on his part, at least he’s honest…I just think it’s absurd for so many people disconnected from the situation to be outraged over this.

      • And not outraged about him investing in private prisons…..

    • takin over the carter

plus he was born in bk sou would think it’s in his blood .. but i dont think everybody that was born in bk likes/love hip hop either so it’s whatever fuc it …. could have been there on some industry shit or to show face …

  • Dark Matters

I don’t blame him. Everywhere these smelly scavangers go they bring their stench and low quality energy with them and expect people to like it. The man spent his entire life building an empire and he’s supposed to throw it away associating with bottom feeder rappers? Kill yourselves.

    • Knickfan4life

But why would he be at a Def Jam christmas party with a lable founded by a man who made majority of his wealth in hip hop?

      • takin over the carter

        good question???

      • Chyze

Prolly cuz MJ didn’t say phuck Hip Hop…..he said phuck rap. Those are not the same thing. Just my opinion…

  • yomomma

bet nore had a pair of 11’s on during the interview….i will never support mj

  • Joe Joiner

He hates rap cuz he only spoke to Hov…… Ok

    • S D

no retard….he clearly says he HEARD IT but you cant read so you missed that part…LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

  • ebonyhud

That’s kinda funny because rappers say f**k people all the time. Its kinda bold though because they could just be fans lmao Savage.

  • Charter

    Everybody HAS to like rap?

    • Dark Matters

Yeah, you’re not “Black” if you don’t.

  • JerZeBoy

keep paying all that ridiculous amount for those ugly sneakers of his duma$$eSS

  • Wetwork510

I was fortunate enough to own all the original Jordan’s when he actually played in them in games. He had me fucked up when he tried to sell them to me twice.

  • Lord Chief Rocka

a lot of the companies we support hate hip hop culture. Their just not as blatant as Mike. I’m not gonna stop buying jays. I’m from an era where if you had jays folk knew you was getting it (hustling). Whats corny about jays nowadays is everyones got em. Free Bobby Smurda.

  • roachburn

to each his own, what the problem? fuk rap
