Nas and Damian Marley To Release CD In June

Rapper Nas and reggae artist Damian “JR Gong” Marley have announced a new album and will highlight their collaborative effort tonight in Los Angeles.

The upcoming album is slated for release in June of this year.

The newly christened team will appear tonight at the Grammy Museum at L.A. Live in Los Angeles at 8 p.m.

The pair will perform a number of teaser songs and entertain questions from reporters and fans.

Marley and Nas will also play the Rothbury Festival from July 2nd-5th festival with acts like The Dead, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Damien “Jr. Gong” Marley, The Black Crowes, G. Love & Special Sauce and Les Claypool.

This isn’t the first time Nas and Marley have worked together.

The birth of Hip hop formulated through people like James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Parliament etc in the 70's then as the culture grew you can tell how much these people had an affect on the culture mid 80's and early 90's Because most rappers had sampled from those artists I named..( Redman, Rakim, Kane, Nas etc...and then the early to mid 90's was Puff and MJB doing all of the sampling... In fact, I have all that music and listen to it often as I can not take the dirty South movement. If you listen to Wefunk radio on the web, they play the rapper followed by the original and you will be surprised at the amount of sampling. I just can see it. I can make beats all day long and never have to sample. In fact I did entire songs in one day so when I heard that news about Saigon, I knew it was bullshit. You can make a song, but you need at least three days to mix it right. You can make a good song in a week or hard work so there is no need to steal, sample or bite a rhyme. Just my opinion. Thanks for checking that out and giving me your feed back. As far as comparing Jayz to Ross, I know I'm going to hear it on this one, but yes, I think in my mind he is just as big of a fraud as Ross. Maybe not in the talent level, because I will admit Jay Z has way more talent than Ross, but fraud wise, Jay Z is in my opinion a fraud. I also think the Game is a fraud, a fantastic actor and talented impersonator, but not a true rapper, like Nas, Rakim, Red Man, Snoop, Pac, Ras Kas, Crooked I, Gangstar, ect.
