Police say they don’t believe Christopher Lorenzo’s (aka Chris Gotti) claim that he was shot in the leg in a courtyard outside of the offices of Murder Inc, which reside within Def Jam Records headquarters.

Yesterday officials released additional evidence that contradicted Lorenz’s assertion that he was shot by an unknown assailant about 9 p.m. on Monday Feb. 24.

According to police sources, the blood brother and manager of Irv Gotti had visible gunpowder burns on his clothing suggesting that a shooter would have had to blast him from about a foot away. While they have yet to provide a conclusive statement, the police speculate that Lorenzo aka Chris Gotti might have dumped a handgun. Investigators also theorize that he knew his attacker if he was attacked and is not revealing who the suspect is.

“We don’t believe that Mr. Lorenzo has been completely forthcoming in this investigation,” a police source said.

According to records Lorenzo said, “Suddenly I felt some pain, and I think I was shot.”

Backing him up, Lorenzo’s lawyer Murray Richman stated that his client has done nothing illegal. “My clients are innocent of any wrong doing,” Richman told the New York Post.
