A mistrial was declared today in the case of Roc-A-Fella rapper Beanie Sigel. The jury deliberated for a week but was unable to reach a verdict on any of the charges against him. Sigel was facing 20 to 40 years in prison if convicted of shooting a man outside of a bar in 2003.

Terrance Speller claimed that Sigel shot him in the abdomen and foot, however the defense questioned Speller’s credibility, and Speller admitted to changing his story several times when speaking to authorities.

In a separate case, Sigel still faces prison time after pleading guilty to federal drug and weapons charges related to a 2002 traffic stop when authorities said Sigel ditched his SUV and a loaded handgun and ran from the police. Investigators said they found drugs in the vehicle, including codeine, Oxycodone and marijuana. He is also awaiting trial on charges that he fractured a 53-year-old man’s eye socket.
